I’m starting to get candida on my privates
I think that’s what it is. It’s white stuff and it gets all over the scrotum and the fabric of my underwear gets trapped in it.
I don’t shower regularly because I’m depressed and in pain. Today I finally forced myself to take a shower and it was bad. I thought I had washed good down there, but when I got out of the shower I still noticed there was a lot there and became so frustrated.
Yet another problem that’s giving me more anxiety and depression that I don’t need.

Bitch you started a thread on Datalounge to say you're too lazy to get your ass to the drug store to buy some anti Jock-itch spray?

Can't you just sleep in the tub, and turn the faucet on a couple of times a day. Don't let depression ruin your no-no spots.

Yeast infection is only for females, OP.

R5, yeast grows in moist conditions with the wrong pH. It can happen in skin folds and mouths, too.

Men can definitely get yeast infections.

Jesus fuck off. It takes ten minutes to have a decent shower but you are too lazy to pop in there? In the time it took for you to post this nasty ass thread you could have been scrubbing your balls down.
Fucking pig.

You're just nasty, OP.
Start taking daily shower and after you're totally dry, apply a cream for either jock-itch or vaginal yeast infection. Either will work.

Where the air is fresh and clean

Sorry OP. Could you try showering first thing in the morning? Put music on in the bathroom? Depression is tough.

Candida anywhere would have freaked me out in my single days. I remember reading about a guy who had a perpetual yeast infection that, of course, was a symptom of a compromised immune system. It was not in his mouth, but somewhere on his body.

Get and apply some lotrimin lotion, eat low-sugar yogurt, and take anti-yeast pills made by AZO. Cut down on consumption of sugar, cheese and alcohol. Try to bathe more often and change clothes at least every other day. Invest in large moist towelettes for the times you can't bring yourself to bathe. Try to find enticements to bathing: soaps and lotions that smell wonderful; music; Epsom salts, bath toys, etc.

Regardless of feelings of depression, you should get into a routine of showering at least every other day, and always dry yourself off well. Also cut back on sugar and processed foods. Candida is more likely to appear if you have those conditions,

If this has already been stated please ignore. But OP, coconut oil is said to be the best home remedy for candida infection.
[quote] Coconut oil contains caprylic acid, which has anti-microbial properties that are proven to kill yeasts and Candida. And studies have shown that it is even more effective in treating candidiasis than the prescription drug fluconazole.

I've had on and off depression with little motivation to do anything, but I would force myself to do a few basic things like bathing and shopping for food.

R26 is right...coconut oil is actually a miracle cure for this. It also works great for athlete’s foot (another fungal situation). It’s messy but works better even than the OTC anti-fungals listed in this thread.

And yet you're sufficiently motivated to post here where nothing can be done to fix your problems.

Good for you, but obviously not everyone with depression is capable. There are different forms, severities and it affects people differently. Just because you could do something doesn’t mean someone with your same illness could. Many are much more crippled by it.

Plain yogurt is a very good soothing agent for yeast infection. For goodness sake don't buy a flavoured one tho. That sugar will exacerbate the yeast. PLAIN yogurt. Apply it to your infected areas. Even if it starts to go away several times a day. Get some gauze from the drugstore and apply overtop of yogurts and then out on clothes. Wash areas in between applications. And also try the coconut or even almond or Olive oil to the skin. Repeat. If it doesn't feel better in a couple days you may need a prescription anti fungal.

What about apple cider vinegar and Listerine? It works great for toenail fungus.

OP, I've had a few bouts of that b/c I have pretty big thighs - if I'm wearing my bike shorts. I seem to have a bout if I don't shower at the gym & wait until I bike home after.
I've used tea tree body wash which will kill mild cases - Trader Joe's has it for 4 bucks, Amazon has a ton of varieties. I've also used something that works well called Fungicure for Jock Itch, which is at Wal-mart. You have to get that body wash/gel sudsy and apply with a washcloth, leave it on for a few minutes before rinsing.
You also want to find a good anti-fungal cream to apply after the shower. Equate has a good one at Walmart - it's marked for athlete's foot but works.
If you have a fan, sit on your bed for a while after a shower and before putting underwear or PJ's on. Fungus/bacteria loves heat and moisture, so give your body time to dry off. If you're a bigger size person or have areas where your body rubs together, really give it a few minutes (5 or more) for a fan to dry your skin. (You can also use a hair dryer but be careful to not run it for too long, and run on low or medium heat.)

If you're not capable of taking care of your daily needs you should contact your local social services. They can send someone out to help you with this stuff. In the meantime:
generic Monistat miconozole (in the feminine care aisle).
Honest baby wipes - they contain only water. Don't use regular wipes. They contain detergents.

Change your shower head to one of those handheld deals. Make sure it has multiple settings including the "power wash" setting so you can blast away all your stank.

OP I had the same problem, minus the shower issue. This advice comes from my doctor.
Unlike what the stupid poster upthread said, it's a known fact candida grows on men as well and as a matter of fact its the #1 infection no one realizes they have.
Candida is part of our gut flora. Depression and anxiety/stress increases the production of cortisol whose main function is to produce sugar to aid muscles and the brain. The constant production of sugar forces the gut flora to produce more candida to feed off the extra sugars. What happens most of the time is that at a certain level of production candida reaches your blood stream and it becomes systemic.
Most men under stress and depression don't realize they have systemic infection by candida. Sometimes it will manifest though oral thrush or candida in the groin area, sometimes it won't. It will however manifest by shutting down your system to deal with the toxicity of your blood. The fatigue most people endure during stress comes from the body shutting itself down to protect itself from this infection.
I endured depression and stress for 4 years before a doctor finally diagnosed me with candida. The traditional pills didn't work for me. What did work was a 3 week fruitarian diet of mostly fruits and seeds and vegetables. It really cleaned my blood and it three days I was already feeling better. You don't have to be this radical, but I'm sure if you find yourself a doctor to deal with it, a good mix of low sugar diet, a bit of exercise and a control of your stress (I started meditating) will help you wonders.
I wish you well. As for not showering and candida, the truth is candida loves moist, damp and hot areas, so my problem was that I took too many hot showers everyday and still got to me. Obviously showering is a must. I hope you get better OP it's terrible to suffer from depression and anxiety. Keep it up.

R43 A fruit based diet? Fruit is extremely high in sugar. I am surprised it helped and did not actually make the situation worse.
I had a bout of this, and went pretty much zero carb. Close to what is called "carnivore" now. For a month, the only thing other than meat I would eat was a lettuce-only salad with a ton of Braggs apple cider vinegar on it. The only seasonings for the meat I used was salt, pepper and fresh garlic. Lost weight, gained muscle and the crud on and in my body ran screaming.

R45 I thought the same when I read about the fruit. A yeast infection was a warning sign for a friend that he was pre-diabetic.
