My former boss (who was, and remains, a CEO of a multibillion-dollar, international company) used to say, "It is what it is" about 10 times a week. So tiresome.

He also had a faux-gold pleatherette plaque in his office that said, "It CAN be done." In the middle of a discussion about some random issue, he would pull that out and place it with great ceremony on the conference room table.

I lack the words.

Also I hate anyone who uses this phrase. It's called a "thought-terminating cliche" for a reason.
