It's a supernatural thing based on a series of stories by Joe Hill, Stephen King's kid. It had promise but as the second season has droned on, the unbelievably campy, horrible acting of Zachary Quinto is refulgent. There is no way of ignoring it.
I suppose some of it's the writing, but he controls the character's general traits. I know nothing of Quinto and have only seen him on Star Trek and one of the American Horror Story seasons. He seemed okay then, but this hammy schlock he's doing combined with the obviousness of them trying to stretch and drag the story to make a certain number of episodes may end his career for the foreseeable future. It's really that bad.
