When they morphed into a pop band in the mid 70’s they sold buckets of records because they had catchy songs. Stevie was pretty & girls liked her look. They had the divorce dramas that sold magazines. They had more personality then a lot of the rock bands of that era. If the music was bland then so be it. Think about styx or reo speedwagon. It all seems so quaint.

It was the 70s. Mellow rock ruled the day. It was perfect music for smoking weed and getting laid in the van that had orange shag carpeting. My aunt and uncle had a van like that, we did a big family trip to Disneyland in it. One of the best memories from my childhood.
