Rami was fantastic. It seems to be the trend to hate on his performance here but it was anything but “Razzie” worthy.

Sandra didn’t deserve an Oscar but she certainly didn’t deserve a Razzie either.

Cate Blanchett's performance in "The Aviator" was stunning and not Razzie-worthy. She was magnificent.

Just because you don’t like a performance doesn’t mean it deserves the title or worst performance of the year. None of the performances mentioned were the worst of their years.

I am one of the few who thought Sandy was fantastic in Gravity. I would have been fine her winning for that.

R9 you aren’t as few as you think. She was overall praised. It’s just, like always, the haters are loudest.

Laura Dern wasn't Razzie worthy in Marriage Story, although it wasn't even close to her best performance. She deserved the Oscare for Inland Empire.

Naomi Watts should have won for Mulholland Drive, for the audition scene alone.

And I wouldn’t have disagreed with Sheryl Lee being nominated for Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, either.

R27, I agree with all the things you listed out. Sheryl Lee was incredible as Laura Palmer--that performance is devastating, probably the best portrayal of an abuse victim that I've ever seen. Naomi Watts was just as good in Mulholland and Dennis Hopper was iconic.

Jennifer Lawrence in Silver Linings Playbook. As with most of the people OP mentioned, she won against someone who gave a masterful performance (Emmanuelle Riva).

JLaw and Michelle Williams were both better than Natalie Portman the year she won. I used to like Portman but I've soured on her over the years.

Joan Fontaine in "Suspicion" - that simpering, so-nervous and so-in-love shit was old by the time won for "Rebecca II."

Reese Witherspoon in, well, you know. Horrible. Phony. Nitwit. Two facial expressions and neither of them is authentic.

I often forget Reese won an Oscar...which speaks volumes about her performance in Walk the Line.

Judy Holliday. Gloria Swanson played possible the most accurate depiction of a faded star. She deserved to win over Bette and Judy.

Helen Hunt was a ridiculous win for a sitcom type performance. It wasn't even the best comedic performance by an actress. Roberts in My Best Friends Wedding was a funnier, warmer and a more complete performance that actually had a character arc. Hunt's character went nowhere. She won I suspect because she was the sole American in the group.

Hunt won for her character’s anti hmo line. And holding her own opposite jack.

Roberts and complete performance never belong in the same sentence. Julia has her gift Oscar. Give it a rest.

Roberts deserved an oscar for Osage County and/or Closer instead of Erin Brokovich.

Drench or Bonham Carter should have won. But Foster, Roberts and even JLo were more deserving than Hunt or Kate Winslet in her worst performance of her career for those two slots.

Most of these dont deserve razzies you all just don't like the performances. That's fine if you wouldnt give them Oscars but they arent that awful. The things that win razzies are truly garbage movies.

Emma Stone's performance was one of the most bland, uninteresting and feckless performance ever to win an Oscar in any category. And I like her.

It seems like the La La Land producers said to themselves "let's cast two very bland, unsexy, white people in these roles!". Even Cardi B in Emma's role would have bene an improvement. And I hate Cardi and like Emma!

How did I not think of these two: Tony Dovolani and Leah Remini - they were partners on the show and took over coverage for extratv a few times (all on Youtube), they a ton of fun together.

You might not be able to get Remini, but Dovolani is more than worth giving a try, as a judge or a presenter.

Dorothy Malone for [italic]Written on the Wind[/italic] - That dance that gave her father a heart attack was ridiculous. I'd give her an award for her scene in [italic]the Big Sleep[/italic], though.

Malone is pretty darn great in "Written on the WInd" -- someone probably choreographed the dance, blame them if you don't like it.

Paltrow gave amazing performances in Flesh and Bone, Emma, Hard Eight and Sliding Doors.

Quite often you don't get an award for the performance that deserves it.

Sam Rockwell should have gotten an Oscar for both Moon and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. I don't think he was even nominated for those.

Hepburn and Fonda for that Golden Pond syrupy embarrassment.

Burt Lancaster should have gotten the Oscar for Atlantic City instead that years; which also was a brilliant movie!

"Woman Fucks a Fish" is clearly a Razzie & Oscar joint Best Picture.

Burt Lancaster should have won for Sweet Smell of Success too. I liked his performance more than Curtis's, honestly. And he's hotter than Curtis too.

That whole movie should have won several awards. Story, script, dialogue, direction, cinematography, pacing were brilliant! And yes Lancaster was great in it, but Tony Curtis was great too as the scheming Sidney Falco. So many memorable scenes in it.

R85, it is a classic. But Burt Lancaster is so much hotter than Curtis.

He also had a really artistically rich and versatile career, not just as an actor but as a producer too. I can't think on any actor around that time who took on challenging projects, that were ahead of its time and are still relevant to this day. Amazing body of work!

Rami - Queen paid for his. campaigns and it was a weak year. If he had been nominated against Joaquin, he would have lost

Streep should have won or tied for Bridges, Prada, Julie and Julia. I actually like her work in Iron Lady but the film is amateurish

Cate #1 - that was a nice campy performance but she only win because she was imitating Katharine Hepburn

Goop was wonderful in Shakespeare In Love. She glowed. She's a terrific actress. Ditto the performance she delivered in Ripley. But everyone in that masterpiece was exceptional.

Goop was fine in Shakespeare, but she did nothing exceptional in the role. Harvey bought her that award.

Goop was OK in Shakespear. Not Oscar worthy. Not Razzie worthy either.

Goop is an excellent actress.

Just watch her in Hard Eight, Sylvia or Proof. She blew me away in those parts. Very versatile too and she can completely disappeared into a character.

I wish she would still seek out some interesting roles in little indie productions.

Oh I agree, she'll do that. I'm guessing she eventually do one of those Oscar bait films that where she plays a disabled person and the Academy will give in.

Paltrow wants to do Marvel stuff bc it gives her exposure which helps her Goop brand. But other than that I'm sure she would jump on the opportunity to do some serious acting again.

Robert Downey Jr was the one who convinced Gweyth Paltrow to join MARVEL, he joked in an interview (I can't find it, help!) that he told her; come on, you'll finally be in a move that makes money, or people see, or something like that!

Well good on Downey to convince Goop. They had amazing chemistry. The scene in the first Iron Man where she pulls the reactor out of his chest is hilariously funny and sexy as hell.

Gwen can act. People Don’t like her so hate in her performances.. and Sandra Bullock was Oscar nominated for Gravity with many saying it was the performance of the year, including James Cameron.

Goop can act. But some people go on like she's at the level of Blanchett or Streep and she's simply not. She's ok to good, and once upon a time she did do interesting parts. Now she's just lazy.

Neither Streep nor Blanchette are as talented as Goop. Steep had a never been a truly talented actress actually, just an audience darling and Blanchette knows how to pick Oscar roles. If you want to talk about talented Aussie actresses, you talk about Jacki Weaver and Toni Collette.
