I just love “Fat Whores, Rejoice!” threads. It usually means good news about tasty foods I love!

by Anonymousreply 3July 6, 2020 4:48 PM

OP! But this sounds too good to be true!

by Anonymousreply 4July 8, 2020 7:08 PM

Like buttah!

At Christmas, my mother revered Swedish butter cookies about as much as the baby Jesus. I think each one had a tablespoon of butter in it, but damn were they good! We always joked they were a health food.

Finally, someone uses the FAT WHORES, REJOICE opening properly! Bless you, OP!

by Anonymousreply 8July 8, 2020 9:38 PM

I told you bitches.

by Anonymousreply 9July 8, 2020 9:40 PM

I would rather just go hungry than choose some of the low-fat dairy products out there. I won't ever use low-fat mozzarella or other 'plastic' cheeses. I follow Julia Child's philosophy. Enjoy the butter and cream. Just eat the rich stuff in moderation. And don't skip the vegetables and fruits.

by Anonymousreply 10July 8, 2020 9:55 PM

Oh honey, I’ve been enjoying full milk for years.

by Anonymousreply 11July 8, 2020 10:00 PM

Me, too R11. And I'll use half and half or even heavy cream in omelettes if there's no whole milk.

by Anonymousreply 12July 8, 2020 10:26 PM

Umm Keto - not fat whores - muscular keto whores who eat cheese and butter and full-fat milk and heavy cream daily.

by Anonymousreply 13July 8, 2020 10:32 PM

Thanks, OP, this is the great news we fat whores have been waiting for! Let the rustling of caftans begin!

by Anonymousreply 14July 8, 2020 10:43 PM

No more Oleo for me!

Does this mean I still can drench my cereal in heavy cream?

by Anonymousreply 17July 8, 2020 11:11 PM

R7 you have displeased the DL fat whores by not posting the recipe!

by Anonymousreply 18July 8, 2020 11:22 PM

Thank god something good came out of this tire fire of a fucking year.

by Anonymousreply 19July 9, 2020 2:29 AM

Fat doesn't make whores fat!

by Anonymousreply 20July 9, 2020 2:35 AM

R9 And I love you back Julia!

by Anonymousreply 21July 9, 2020 2:55 AM

A pome for y'all.

Someone make Julia's french onion soup to celebrate.

Don't forget to butter the bowls and top with melted butter!

Like someone said above I’d rather just eat much much less and eat the real thing. And I think people like that generally are thinner. I’ve gained a few quarantine pounds and I have my own neurotic issues (I feel bloated and “skinny fat” right now) but basically I’ve always been skinny.

I do shudder to think what my cholesterol must be now, however.

My lesbian nutrition professor at Cornell in the early 80s gave us these facts. What was interesting was the food science departments in the ag school were creating frankenfoods like all the processed vegetable fat garbage and the nutrition profs already new it was poison. And nutrition is so easy in many ways, and the industrial food industry has obscured how easy it is, for decades, to sell garbage.

by Anonymousreply 25July 9, 2020 5:03 AM

already Knew

[quote] My lesbian nutrition professor at Cornell

Was your professor a lesbian or did she teach lesbian nutrition?

by Anonymousreply 27July 9, 2020 5:35 AM

good call. lesbian professor of nutrition. I doubt she would have had much esteem for nut loaf. she was the prophet of "whole", traditional, high quality food.

by Anonymousreply 28July 9, 2020 5:44 AM

What did I tell y'all bitches?

by Anonymousreply 29July 9, 2020 9:04 AM

R18 you're right and I hang my head in shame.

This looks close to my mom's recipe, but as I recall she also added diced walnuts into the recipe. Two cups of butter, LOL!

That was Sophia's line, OP, and not Celie's - just an FYI

Side note: that pizza looks great

by Anonymousreply 33July 9, 2020 11:06 AM

When I was a kid (70s,80s) margarine was just that, margarine. In the last decade or so it's become "dairy spread." Rebranded, marketed as a healthy alternative to butter. Still the same heavily processed crap.

Thank you, OP. Now please find the scientific study proving that butter fat does not add to the calorie content of a meal.

My caftans have grown snug. I need that to stop happening, so bring me that study!

by Anonymousreply 35July 9, 2020 11:30 AM

R35, forget counting calories. Avoid carbs to almost nothing, especially processed carbs (and processed food), eat all you want of bacon, meats, cheeses, nuts, eggs, veggies that grow above ground. Drink red wine and vodka with abandon. Your fat will literally melt away and your caftan will be free flowing in no time.

by Anonymousreply 36July 9, 2020 1:39 PM

It always goes back to Atkins.

by Anonymousreply 37July 9, 2020 1:40 PM

R36 is right except for the "with abandon" boozing.

by Anonymousreply 38July 9, 2020 2:03 PM

I love butter (lemon-thyme, garlic, etc) on a grilled steak.

Sometimes too much is just enough.

by Anonymousreply 39July 9, 2020 3:53 PM

OP, I think you meant "Butter is CLARIFIED"...

by Anonymousreply 40July 9, 2020 5:14 PM

Those people doing McDougal, Esselstyn, Ornish, Fuhrman, Barnard, Chef AJ, and the Vegans shall still oppose this, as they do every such study.

Most cannot even concede that those without heart trouble, or a family history can be healthy with fat in general, let alone saturated fats from animal sources.

by Anonymousreply 41July 9, 2020 5:34 PM

Dang R39 that looks SO GOOD!

by Anonymousreply 42July 9, 2020 6:00 PM

vegans are food fetishists, not nutritionists.
