The other two officers who were involved in George Floyd's murder

I kinda feel sorry for them. Yes they were in part responsible for his death, but they were rookies and probation period.

by Anonymousreply 36June 6, 2020 2:48 PM

What kind of stupid ass inflammatory thread is this?

by Anonymousreply 1June 5, 2020 4:44 AM

Feel bad all you want, any punishment won’t be enough to quell the bloodlust. Even if all four men were set in front a firing squad, it wouldn’t be enough. The goalposts keep moving.

There was a huge kerfuffle in a community FB group my SIL belongs to because there were no mods who were POC. No, the Latina didn’t count, an Asian wouldn’t do. It had to be a black person. The group was archived.

by Anonymousreply 2June 5, 2020 4:58 AM

Why? They joined a gang. They joined THEE gang.

by Anonymousreply 3June 5, 2020 5:01 AM

I too feel bad for them. My ex-gf was a cop so I somewhat understand the pressure those rookies were under. Keep in mind that their murdering colleague was a training officer, and they were obligated to take orders from him. I read that at least one of them did speak up (that took balls), but was ignored. So of course, after that, the other new officers would feel that there was no point in saying anything.

It's hard to follow your conscience when you're in that position.

by Anonymousreply 4June 5, 2020 5:06 AM

[quote]It's hard to follow your conscience when you're in that position.

Or how about you just not be in that position and find a new job?

by Anonymousreply 5June 5, 2020 5:09 AM

They could have learned to code instead.

by Anonymousreply 6June 5, 2020 5:12 AM

R6 they could have done anything other than policework. When it came down to a vital situation, and their brother cop was wrong, they failed. As the charges read, they aided and abetted murder. Not legalese, the needless death of a human being. Fuck them.

by Anonymousreply 7June 5, 2020 5:22 AM

"kinda"

You kind of are a filthy worm-riddled cunt, aintcha, OP?

Aintcha?

Rot.

by Anonymousreply 8June 5, 2020 5:23 AM

I'm the kind of person who would kick Chauvin in the face hard if he wouldn't cease and desist. Fuck the job.

It's just a shit job anyway. They take it way too seriously, like they're Vikings entering Valhalla. You're just a h.s. grad in a polyester Halloween costume, dumbass.

by Anonymousreply 9June 5, 2020 5:29 AM

Maybe we'll kind of feel sorry for you when you're executed on the street and the cops turn a blind eye. Stupid fuck.

by Anonymousreply 10June 5, 2020 5:34 AM

[quote]It's hard to follow your conscience when you're in that position.

It takes integrity, which you clearly lack. Cop apologists are just as bad as cops.

by Anonymousreply 11June 5, 2020 5:36 AM

That makes it even worse, it shows where their morality and principles are.

If they didn’t speak up in this, then they they’re gonna be worse cops.

It’s good everybody saw that they didn’t have the moral fortitude to be in positions of authority.

What the fuck kind of recruiting are they doing for police departments?? Don’t they have to take psychological tests and other screenings to See if they qualify to train further?

by Anonymousreply 12June 5, 2020 5:47 AM

I can't see how anyone in that situation wouldn't speak up. Training officer or not, I'd rather be let go for insubordination than let him kill someone needlessly.

by Anonymousreply 13June 5, 2020 5:52 AM

[quote]Feel bad all you want, any punishment won’t be enough to quell the bloodlust. Even if all four men were set in front a firing squad, it wouldn’t be enough. The goalposts keep moving.

Don't be stupid. The goalposts haven't moved anywhere.

People just want cops to be held responsible for hurting or killing people that should have never been hurt or killed.

That 75 year old man that was pushed to the ground and cracked his head open as the cops continued to walk on by deserves justice. If not for the video of it and Cuomo seeing it he wouldn't have gotten any at all because as they said on their police report he "tripped." We know that didn't happen.

The cops can break into the wrong home and kill a sleeping EMT and nothing will happen.

The cops can kill a black man over a loose cigarette on camera, then do it again to a white man the next time (which they did) on camera then do it again to another black person and nothing will happen to them.

The cops can beat people going to and from work, arrest EMT workers, shoot peaceful protesters with rubber bullets killing one woman's baby, trap them on bridges and arrest people for no damn reason (and I'm not talking about looters) and NOTHING will happen.

ALL of that needs to stop.

by Anonymousreply 14June 5, 2020 6:24 AM

I'm a white professional and it sickens me to think that these are the people we have entrusted our "safety" to. I'm to the point where if a cop is injured or killed in a scuffle that the police start, my sympathy level is 0%.

by Anonymousreply 15June 5, 2020 6:54 AM

I'll give all the money I have to a gay man (cop, correction officer, soldier, etc.) who can prove he had the guts to speak up in the same or a similar situation.

Oh -- none of you can think of anything? Take your time -- I'll wait.

by Anonymousreply 16June 5, 2020 2:08 PM

I wouldn't vote to convict if I was as on the jury and many of these looters out there deserve to be shot on the spot!

by Anonymousreply 17June 5, 2020 2:39 PM

[quote]I wouldn't vote to convict if I was as on the jury and many of these looters out there deserve to be shot on the spot!

I see we have a true believer and adherent to the US Constitution and Bill of Rights.

by Anonymousreply 18June 5, 2020 2:42 PM

They knew exactly what they were doing. Any one of them could have tackled the officer as soon as they heard George Floyd pleading for his life. They did nothing. They’re just as guilty of murder.

by Anonymousreply 19June 5, 2020 2:46 PM

R5 yeah, what he said. Excellent point.

by Anonymousreply 20June 5, 2020 2:59 PM

The fact that there were civilians on the street calling them out and telling them to stop hurting Floyd does not make me feel sorry for them. They knew they were in a situation that was spiraling out of control.

The fact is police stick together. That honour code is some bullshit in tragic incidents like this.

They chose their shitty co-workers over George Floyd.

by Anonymousreply 21June 5, 2020 3:13 PM

I feel bad for them too. I know what it’s like to be in a similar position to a rookie cop. When I was in that position, I didn’t even defend myself when my “mentors” bombarded me with homophobic comments and discriminated against me because I was gay. It’s a mindset that you will never understand unless you are in that position. I wouldn’t convict the other three either.

by Anonymousreply 22June 5, 2020 3:27 PM

R22: But you, "in a similar position to a rookie cop," did not hold the power of life and death over your clients, nor did your manager and colleagues.

Another failed analogy.

by Anonymousreply 23June 5, 2020 3:36 PM

Actually we do hold the power of life or death over our clients. Nice try though R23.

by Anonymousreply 24June 5, 2020 3:42 PM

Its time to move on, there are bigger problems in the world, especially right now.

by Anonymousreply 25June 6, 2020 2:48 AM

In terms of the two Rookies it boils down to one word

Courage

Neither had it.

by Anonymousreply 26June 6, 2020 2:53 AM

I suspect the biracial one in hung so he can be put under house arrest at my place.

by Anonymousreply 27June 6, 2020 2:57 AM

r17 is the racist asshole who defended Amber Guyger when she murdered Botham Jean in his own apartment. He even suggested that Jean might be a gangster when in fact he was a completely innocent person. Of course, to scum like r17, black people are not really human.

by Anonymousreply 28June 6, 2020 3:29 AM

R24 - So which are you: mob foot soldier or Roscoe the Bedbug Dog? Like law enforcement, those professions prefer to hire from among the minimally intelligent.

Remember that the cretin kkkops (for whom you "feel bad"@ R24) hunt and torment gays after hours for extra credit. Best put your pity to better use elsewhere.

by Anonymousreply 29June 6, 2020 6:47 AM

Oh, please. OP, it's not "Sophie's Choice" for fuck sake.

by Anonymousreply 30June 6, 2020 8:09 AM

COP KILLAH!

I know your family grievin'

COP KILLAH!

But tonight we gettin' even . . .

by Anonymousreply 31June 6, 2020 8:42 AM

They stood by and watched it happen AND they argued with vocal bystanders who shouted out that Floyd was not breathing and was non-responsive. They could have stopped it all happening, saved a man's life and dealt with the outcome later.

So no OP. They are 100% culpable.

by Anonymousreply 32June 6, 2020 10:06 AM

OP is an idiot. They CHOSE to help murder a man. Who the fuck cares about them.

by Anonymousreply 33June 6, 2020 12:25 PM

R4 If it's wrong, you HAVE to call it out.

irst they came for the Communists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists And I did not speak out Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists And I did not speak out Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews And I did not speak out Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me And there was no one left To speak out for me

by Anonymousreply 34June 6, 2020 12:27 PM

We all have to pay for our mistakes. They can not be peace officers if they have no problem watching a man be murdered.

by Anonymousreply 35June 6, 2020 12:40 PM

“Just following orders” isn’t a valid defense. Whether it’s Nuremberg or Minneapolis.
