Three months into this COVID shit and today my office decides this.

Just got an email from management that effective soon everyone who comes in to the office gets their temperature taken before we’re allowed to work. Every day.

Uh, what's wrong with that? Grocery stores and other places already implement this. It's going to be one of those thermometer guns that they just point at your forehead. Takes 5 seconds. Grow up.

Fine to do that, but, most people with Covid spread it 3 days before the fever appears.

It's too late by the time you have a fever

Whenever my gym decides to reopen they've said they'll be doing the same. (Also, no more just dropping in to the gym for a workout, you'll have to schedule your visit so they can control the number of people there. Also also, forget about taking a shower, just go home sweaty.)

It took them three months to cone up with it.

How dare they do something!

by Anonymousreply 5June 4, 2020 8:05 PM

At least they care enough to do that much.

Well, what's the point then?

This is better than nothing but as R2 said, people can shed the virus and infect others before they develop a fever. Some people get very sick and never develop a fever. Others are asymptomatic carriers of the virus. Social distancing, masks and frequent hand washing remain the best (though still flawed) defenses.
