I knew a family, the mother had some interesting ideas about parenting. The kid was a total BRAT, but very confident, so maybe she was on to something. The kid was an only child and the absolute center of their universe. For a while she’d let the kid show up to school whenever the kid felt like it, and there was a stab at homeschooling. She made a big deal about rejecting society’s rules and letting the child do what it wanted. But ironically there were tons of rules in their home anyway. No television or computers (except dad’s). No plastic toys. No vaccinations. No sugar. You get the idea.

I'm surprised that Alicia would talk about bathing with her son considering that she was so "outraged" and "offended" by the feedback/backlash she got over the baby bird stuff. You'd think that she'd keep her parenting tactics to herself since she knows that they get people criticizing her. Yes, some cultures are more comfortable with nudity and/or communal bathing than others. That's quite different. It's the one-on-one aspect that is truly disturbing, combined with the fact that Alicia Silverstone wasn't raised in and isn't living in a nudist/communal bathing culture.
