Duckworth IS the best contender but probably will not get it because she's not black. We back to the days of adverse action when we hire based on skin color, not whether a person is qualified or not.

Biden will suffer for about two weeks if he selects her, with the media questioning his commitment to African-Americans, etc. They'll try to destroy him, but then another story will draw their attention and it'll die down, just as more people learn of her and ragging on Biden for selecting her is increasingly seen as absurd.
