Most undeserving acting oscar nomination ever.

Inspired by the most undeserving acting Oscar winner ever thread, what are some Oscar nominations that make no sense?

Adam Driver did nothing special in Blackklansman and he’s been overrated ever since.

Tom Hanks as Foghorn Leghorn in “Forrest Gump.”

John C Reilly in Chicago. All he did was sing a song, look either confused or sad.

There are a lot of inexplicable nominations in Supporting, usually because the Academy really likes a movie and just votes for everyone associated with it. Jacki Weaver for Silver Linings Playbook is probably the most egregious in recent memory.

She’s not bad, but her role is so small it makes Judi Dench in Shakespeare in Love seem like a leading role, in comparison.

Minnie Driver Good Will Hunting

Judi Dench Chocolat

The most undeserving nomination is also the most undeserving win: Diarrhea Malek. The academy should be ashamed of itself for rewarding that garbage.

Unpopular opinion but I don't get why Chalamet was so praised for Call Me By Your Name. It's a solid performance but he basically played himself. I was glad he was snubbed the following year for Beautiful Boy.

Every single one of Mahershala Ali's nominations and every single one of Frances McDormand's nominations.

by Anonymousreply 11June 3, 2020 5:15 PM

Livvie DeHavilland, Gone With The Wind playing that drivelling simp Melanie Wilkes

by Anonymousreply 12June 3, 2020 6:05 PM

All of Frances McDormand's nominations.

by Anonymousreply 13June 4, 2020 4:25 AM

Jack Nicholson for any of his nominations. He's been doing the same annoying shtick for decades.

by Anonymousreply 14June 4, 2020 5:40 AM

R14: He's the most overrated actor of his generation. He's also a prick.
