Although larger numbers have been thrown out there, Boeing is still 1 % of America's GDP. At the same time, it provides an industrial military benefit to the country. Now, Boeing gets to take some time off to fix their issues with that damn plane thanks to the outbreak.
The market crash was not a surprise in the least. Smart people were already retreating to safer grounds at the end of 2019. The selloff in 2020 hit some 401Ks pretty hard, but the people who got out had their capital to swoop back in and eat up the bargains. Market back up to previous levels. Consolidation of wealth? increased.
However it plays out, the pandemic will end up benefiting one party or the other. There is no way it can not.
It will be a bit of a culling. The campaign against social security, if honest, must see this as a gift to the fund. Of course, we all know that motivation is more about not giving poor people free money.
It appears that this virus has more than just a life and death power. It has moved economies and shut down commerce. Almost as if it were some kind of weapon.
