They will probably not make another Superman film for at least a decade. Warner Brothers has said as much.

Why not? Hell, they make a new Spider-Man movie every other minute.

That’s because Sony licenses Spider-Man from Disney and they have to keep making Spider-Man movies or the rights revert back to Disney.

Warner owns the Superman rights so they don’t have that limitation.

Kind of strange that they announce a new Superman movie franchise when a Superman TV show was officially announced some time ago. Does the DC need the money or are they just desperate to get the nasty aftertaste of Znyder's superhero franchise attempt out of the fans' mouths?

I rather like his DC films. They are obviously darker than Marvel's, and that's a good thing. I was a bit ambivalent about Man of Steel at first, especially since it was getting bad reviews and people seemed to generally hate it , but it didn't take long to start appreciating his vision. The film is in many ways almost like an art house film, Snyder's touch is so strong. The later ones aren't that great but since I liked the characters I was fine with them.
