What are Biden's best attack lines going to be in the debates?
Consider the past 4 years and the immense number of scandals. Hillary's poised stoicism and rhetorical clobbering had no effect on the pea-brained red and purple state voter. We know that's because she's a woman. Joe will still need to be as succinct with a more receptive audience and will have 4 years of material to work with. Of course this accountability dialogue will not be framed as the "Vote for me because I'm not Trump," criticism levied at Clinton.
What should his message be and how many of Trump's earlier gaffes and outrages should be recalled? I'm assuming pinning the 100k+ deaths squarely on Trump will be his prima materia, but he can't rest his argument on one thing the media talking heads will go back and forth on.
What are the top 5 or 10 things Joe should hone in at every given opportunity?

Morbid obesity (Nancy can help with this).
Actually being poorer than he claims.
Other rich and successful people laughing at him behind his back (bring them all to sit there).
And something that requires him to read something to prove he's functionally illiterate.
|by Anonymous||reply 1||05/24/2020|
R1 Really? "You're fat and poor and have no friends" is a more profound soundbite than "Kids locked in cages/You're an embezzler?"
|by Anonymous||reply 2||05/24/2020|
Yep. It will bait him. The other stuff doesn't work because he has no conscience, morals, or soul. You need to make the narcissist destroy himself.
|by Anonymous||reply 3||05/24/2020|
at this stage, you better hope Biden can remember his lines, any lines, if he cannot, then forget the attack, it will backfire.
|by Anonymous||reply 4||05/24/2020|
Joe should show up with a discretely-hidden, clearly-marked, 16-ounce bottle of Clorox - empty, of course - and "sip" from it whenever the camera is on him and Trump is babbling.
|by Anonymous||reply 5||05/24/2020|
Keep bringing up his impeachment.
Trigger him by bringing up Obama constantly.
Keep saying "You played golf while people died."
|by Anonymous||reply 6||05/24/2020|
R6 Agree this is a formula for unravelment. What else?
|by Anonymous||reply 7||05/24/2020|
Put Obama in the front row.
|by Anonymous||reply 8||05/24/2020|
"What did you do for the entire month of February? We got your order history from the McDonald's on 13th and F so we know it was mostly watching TV and binge eating"
|by Anonymous||reply 9||05/24/2020|
Trump doesn't have to debate, he might skip them and do one of his rallies. He wants to perform in front on an audience.
|by Anonymous||reply 10||05/24/2020|
There won’t be any debates. Trump‘s handlers are too scared.
|by Anonymous||reply 11||05/24/2020|
Bull. He won't allow himself to look like such an abject coward to his supporters. He's going to get demolished and probably nuke half the country afterwards
|by Anonymous||reply 12||05/24/2020|
Biden said today, "The Presidency is about a lot more than tweeting from your golf cart."
|by Anonymous||reply 13||05/24/2020|
Yeah - no debates. Trump will find an excuse.
|by Anonymous||reply 14||05/24/2020|
"Vice President Quayle, you are no Jack Kennedy!!!"
|by Anonymous||reply 15||05/24/2020|
I really liked the camera angles they played with Biden Vs. Bernie. They had him looking very authoritative and commanding from behind with Bernie in the foreground flailing around hissing and wagging his finger. They should do the same thing with Trump
|by Anonymous||reply 17||05/24/2020|
"Fatty Fatty Two by Four
Can't Fit Through the White House Door."
|by Anonymous||reply 18||05/24/2020|
No debates sounds likely. But that could work in Biden's favor. The Bloomberg camp should not only contribute financially, but also with the talent that served up those slippery campaign spots. They have already shown that they can play in Trumps playpen. If they can get the message to the Rust Belt, then the Democrats will have a chance to restore order.
This group will not go quietly. If the cozenors are thrown out of the White House, the reaction from their drones will be fierce, instant and possibly violent. That will be the pivotal moment when we will see if the new leadership has been paying attention the last four years. The landscape has changed and the people that razed it will be getting back in line for seconds.

I have said all along, Biden needs to concentrate of Trump's alleged drug use and hammer him about taking a drug test. Along with that he needs to concentrate on Trump's history of failed and bankrupt businesses, his multiple scam operations he's been caught at, and his complete incompetence with the CV19 pandemic.
|by Anonymous||reply 21||05/25/2020|
This is more Opposition Research. Don't fall for it, DLers.
|by Anonymous||reply 22||05/25/2020|
Stern made a good point about debating Trump. He said if he were Biden, he'd start by asking for his tax returns and then work his way down. HA!
I mean...it really shouldn't be difficult to debate the guy with ALL of the bullshit that's transpired since he took office. Remember Hillary--like most of us-didn't expect Trump to be taken seriously, so she was wearing kid gloves. There's way too much ammunition now.
|by Anonymous||reply 23||05/25/2020|
He should just read the names of the dead from the New York Times Memorial Day feature. He should read names in response to every question asked
|by Anonymous||reply 25||05/25/2020|
[quote] I have said all along, Biden needs to concentrate of Trump's alleged drug use and hammer him about taking a drug test.
Why? No one cares about his drug use. That's not going to sway voters and it's not going to annoy Trump.
|by Anonymous||reply 26||05/25/2020|
Oh yes it will. Even dumbass hicks don't want a known hop head for a POTUS.
|by Anonymous||reply 27||05/25/2020|

Bring up how pretty Ivanka is. And how you bet she's great in the sack. You already know in a car.
|by Anonymous||reply 29||05/25/2020|
None of these ideas are likely to irritate Trump or turn off deplorables. Biden's best bet is to listen to the Lincoln Project and Bloomberg's people. If he listened to any of dumb ideas here, Trump will end up getting reelected.
|by Anonymous||reply 30||05/25/2020|
Insulting Trump for his fast-food addiction would be a good fit for DL'ers but a bad one for the many obese deplorables. Corporate America wants it's profitable franchises to continue to say nothing of the many deplorable teens who work fast-food jobs.
I can just see the T-shirts bragging how the wearer is an overweight deplorable for Trump. Fat acceptance movement on steroids.
(By the way since learning what's actually in them the closest I'll go to any fast-food is El Pollo Loco or the equivalent.)
|by Anonymous||reply 31||05/25/2020|
America now needs a very strong leader with workable solutions for the continuing economic disaster. I'd like to see who Biden will appoint as economic adviser front and center, a solid plan for business stimulus, and exactly how much money taxpayers are going to get. Maybe the math smart Asian candidate was right after all. Biden needs to appropriate his views to get deplorable votes.
|by Anonymous||reply 32||05/25/2020|
R30 ZZZZzzz Are you insane? Look, I get that you just love to be right about EVERYTHING, but Trump can't handle a fucking press conference. What makes you think bringing up his failures won't piss him off?
Also, you can't possibly think that this debate will change ANYBODY's vote. I mean...you're not THAT hard up, are you?
|by Anonymous||reply 33||05/25/2020|
Let’s face it. Trump has changed the game there are no limits.
“And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought, my God... the genius of that! The genius! The will to do that! ”
|by Anonymous||reply 34||05/25/2020|
Constantly refer to him as "Impeached President Trump", bring a scale on stage and challenge him to step on it. Quote the bible, Mention the 18,415 lies, or whatever the current count is. As in, "This morning, the impeached president told his 18, 415th documented lie when he said that..Obama causes cancer"
Be prepared with a passionate speech that will land with punch when he brings up the dead son/drug addict son. Get in his face.
Mention how Jeffrey Epstein introduced Trump to Melanoma.
Finally, ask him to name his grandchildren .
|by Anonymous||reply 35||05/25/2020|
I don't think he'll debate Biden. He has nothing to gain by being in the same room with Biden, and all he will do is yell "fake news" or "that's a nasty question" and "Obamagate!!" He'll come across as the petulant child that he truly is, and his base will eat it up. But overall, won't do him any good to debate Biden, especially when he'll be called out on his record, which, he'll dismiss and say "no one blames me" and "I don't take any responsibility".
|by Anonymous||reply 36||05/25/2020|
Yeah, like Trump is ever going to do a debate.
Maybe if Kaleigh MAGA-Ninny is the only moderator.
|by Anonymous||reply 38||05/25/2020|
[quote] I don't think he'll debate Biden.
Trump loves debating. He wouldn’t miss it for the world. The question now is, will Joe debate? His handlers don’t want him speaking in public.
|by Anonymous||reply 39||05/25/2020|
I don’t think anything is going to work unfortunately. I think most of America likes Trump even if they would never admit to it. He keeps it real and America will see through Biden’s attempts to pander especially to African Americans.
I hope I’m wrong but I still think we should have gone with Bernie.
|by Anonymous||reply 40||05/25/2020|
R27 Those dumbass hicks are all addicted to opiates anyway
|by Anonymous||reply 41||05/25/2020|
I doubt very much Trump will debate.
|by Anonymous||reply 42||05/25/2020|
well we didn't r40, and now it's Joe. And fortunately we have the stupidest most ridiculous president in American history as an opponent. So there's that. Also, of course a pandemic and a collapsing economy. And most people actually hate Trump. There are idiots that love him, but most hate him.
|by Anonymous||reply 43||05/25/2020|
R39 Oh shut the fuck up. Since you get all your news from Daily Caller and Breitbart headlines without even bothering to search for a whole video you can be forgiven for this idiotic comment. Joe is as coherent and well spoken as he's always been whereas there is absolutely NO NEED to deceptively edit President bring-the-light-inside-the-body to showcase what a babbling idiot he is.
|by Anonymous||reply 44||05/25/2020|
[quote] I think most of America likes Trump even if they would never admit to it. He keeps it real and America will see through Biden’s attempts to pander especially to African Americans.
Not even half of the electorate 'liked' Trump in 2016, let alone half the country. You're really out of your depth here, berniebud
|by Anonymous||reply 45||05/25/2020|
[quote] I doubt very much Trump will debate.
You also doubted that:
He’d run for President
Would win the nomination
Would debate Hillary
Would win the White House
Would last a year
Would step down
Honey, Trump ain’t going anywhere.
|by Anonymous||reply 46||05/25/2020|
R39 is no Bernie Bud. She is a trumptard for whatever reason. The BerBos would come armed with more facts. The real question is why is she here anyway? Do the Log Cabin boys have no forum for her kind?
|by Anonymous||reply 47||05/25/2020|
[quote] Trump loves debating. He wouldn’t miss it for the world.
Oh yes. He loves them like porn stars and sex with his daughter.
|by Anonymous||reply 48||05/25/2020|
Please no debates. Joe is slow on the draw and he's got terrible mush mouth. I'll vote for him because I know he'll put the right people in important positions but god, I wish the Dem candidate were someone vibrant like Cuomo
|by Anonymous||reply 49||05/25/2020|
He'd wipe the floor with the moron Trump. Just don't be polite. Don't make the Hillary mistake. Laugh at him openly and often. He's a clown and a fool. Work with that.
|by Anonymous||reply 50||05/25/2020|
Still with the Bernie? I think Bernie Bros are smarter Trumptards. Bernie's more polarizing than Clinton. It would never work--on paper and in reality. Can you imagine the shit storms that would go down between him and Congress?
|by Anonymous||reply 51||05/26/2020|
Also, Biden is an old skool politician. He's a mess...until he walks onto the stage and stands behind the podium.
|by Anonymous||reply 52||05/26/2020|
Can someone please for the love of god fight fire with fire? What do I mean? Do what Trump did to Hillary. Put Story Daniels up front, the Playboy Bunny, The Miss America he kept calling Miss Piggy, Rosy O'Donald, James Comey, Rex Tillerson and Obama. He needs to be thrown off his game. And if you think Biden should take the high road, just remember that was Hillary did and she lost. Don't think Trump wont try that again with Biden. Grantee Trump will bring that fat bitch who says she was harassed by Biden into the front row. Democrats need to stop bringing a nurf balls to a gun fight.
|by Anonymous||reply 53||05/26/2020|
People people people, it's about what BIDEN CAN DO FOR YOU, what makes Biden better, than anything about Trump. Don't make the same fucking mistake as 2016.
|by Anonymous||reply 54||05/26/2020|
Biden has a weapon Hillary couldn't use. He can be as aggressive at he wants without anyone accusing him of being shrill or a bitch. In fact the more aggressive the more many he will appear like a strong leader. He just cant do it for show, it has to be from the gut but measured in a way that is well thought out and strategic. Trump wont know what to do, he will be blabbering all over himself.
|by Anonymous||reply 55||05/26/2020|
I wish Joe would call Trump out on his name calling. Sooner or later he will call Biden "sleepy Joe". Instead of just ignoring it, I would love for him to say "folks, there you have it, I am ready to solve complex problems with a team of the best people in the world and my opponent response is that of a 5 year old crying in a sand box calling other people names....what's next, sticks and stones?"
