When game shows were fun

That has unusually high production values for cash-strapped ABC of the time*. Plus John Bartholomew Tucker's enormous lav mic could also be used for sexual purposes!

*IMDB says the set cost $800K to build ($6M in todays money).

I couldn't find anything regarding the host of Treasure Isle, John Bartholomew Tucker, being married. Perhaps he was too busy with his career?

The buzz cut daddy inventor was sexy. I only watched the intro. I do remember watching this show as a young gayling because the men were shirtless and wore shorts. Even back then, I loved me a good hairy chest, and older men.

Fun? If that clip was an example, that show was stupid and the people were unattractive. Maybe things were different then? Ugh. Give me Match Game or Hollywood Squares....

This is an example of that weird time in American culture when pointless competitions passed as "good clean fun." You still see these games on cruise ships. I don't remember this show, but the "abc" intro and its music is very evocative for me.

Wow. John Bartholomew Tucker. I haven't heard that name in DECADES. I can't remember what he was "famous" for, but I certainly remember the name.
