Gil Chesterton or Bebe on Frasier

Bernice Clifton on Designing Women. There was usually no reason she needed to be at that place of business, but there she was, being hilarious.

Super Hans on Peep Show

Another vote for Magnitude.
Sandy Cooper as played by Valerie Mahaffey in three episodes of WINGS. She played a woman who had a lifelong crush on Tim Daly's character and no one believes him when he tries to tell them of her stalkerish ways.

Bernice on Designing Women was always fun. I had a soft spot for Mrs. Grubman on Nip/Tuck as well. She was quite funny and even had some very moving moments as well. Unlike most character send offs on that show, they handled her departure beautifully.

I’m not a huge Amy Sedaris fan but her Mimi Kanassis on “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” made me laugh every time. I think it helped that it was a recurring versus regular supporting role.

Nurse Pittman (Jennifer Elise Cox) on Will and Grace.

She was only on once, R11.
Nurse Sheila would’ve been a better choice.

R12 are you OP? It didn't say recurring or supporting, it said "random".
See link....

Molly Shannon on Will & Grace was fantastic.

Mother Francis on "Mad Men."
On a show filled with memorably formidable and disapproving women (Betty, Trudy, Joan, Pete's mother, Meghan's mother, Peggy's mother, Mona Sterling), she was the most formidable and disapproving of all.

And speaking of formidable mothers-in-law:
Mother Stephens from "Bewitched." Neurotic and interfering, she was very funny in her passive-aggressive treatment of both Samantha and Endora; even though she clearly aggravated Samantha, her daughter-in-law always treated her with kindness and respect.

My favorite recurring random character on "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" was Deirdre Robespierre, Jacqueline's best frenemy.

Kim Jong-Il (Margaret Cho), who kept popping up on "30 Rock."

Christine Taylor was pretty hilarious on Ellen's sitcom, as a member of her Book Club. She put a whole new twist on the dumb blond character. I searched youtube but couldn't find a clip.

Cerie Xerox, the beautiful heiress who interned for Liz Lemon on "30 Rock" and always made her feel old, poor, fat, and badly dressed.

Myra, the clueless studio executive on Episodes

He only made one appearance, but the Cheese Man from Buffy definitely counts as random.

The thoroughly unlikable (in a fun way) yet sexy Reid Scott as Dan Egan, the Deputy Director of Communications in the Vice President's Office on VEEP.

Mrs. Kravitz. The first one.

R25 Nobody cares, now get out of her you stupid bald fuck!

r14, most of the characters people are mentioning are "recurring" rather than "random." The millennii have reclaimed random, giving it an entirely new definition, something like "unfamiliar" or "strange"—and now, "recurring."

Please give some better examples R29

I loved the various Yuko's who popped up on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

I also loved C.H.E.R.Y.L. on "Kimmie Schmidt," the pink robot who gave good sass.

r17 Also Donald Hollinger's mother on "That Girl" and Howard Sprague's mother on "The Andy Griffith Show."

I've always liked Alice's boyfriend Sam the butcher on The Brady Bunch.
