WW Z author’s new book release is delayed.

I pre-ordered Devolution by Max Brooks because I loved World War Z so much. It’s one of my favorite books (sneer all you want, I love it). I have been looking forward to reading his new book while in lockdown. I think the original release date was supposed to be early April and now it’s June. Ugh.

Any recommendations for other fun, but well written and, especially, well-researched over the top fiction?

Yes, OP, I thought WWZ was a zombie Canterbury Tale of sorts.

I really like, "The Alienist" and the superior sequel, "The Angel of Darkness". Victorian detective novel.

Thanks R2! I remember the Alienist being very popular when I came out (if I’m thinking of the right book - Victorian era NYC setting with a serial killer?). I’m going to order it right now! You made my day. Thank you.

Max Brooks was on Fresh Air last week (3/24) talking about the pandemic. Worth a listen.

Max Brooks is an recurring panelist on MSNBC and, until his recent PSA featuring his father and addressing the importance of shielding our older citizens from Coronavirus, I never knew he is Mel Brooks's son. What a strong, confident and loving son not to capitalize on his father's fame.

So unlike donald's lackluster miscreants: Huey, Dewey and Louise.
