What are you doing this very minute?

Chilling naked on the couch with a cup of coffee. There is a box of Kleenex and a container of antibacterial wipes at my feet. A yoga mat, a cat rest nearby. My laptop is playing a mood mix on Spotify. It is gloomy outside and about to rain. I'm slowly making some food.

by Anonymousreply 93March 31, 2020 7:05 PM

Sitting on a large covered front porch on top of a hill on twelve acres in a small town in Texas Hill Country, drinking coffee with two black labs at feet. Thinking of having pimiento cheese sandwich for lunch. Nice breeze.

If there was ever any doubt that OP is gay, I think this kind of seals the deal.

by Anonymousreply 4March 28, 2020 5:51 PM

Eating a turkey sandwich in Dallas after deep cleaning my kitchen. Going on a long walk after this

by Anonymousreply 5March 28, 2020 5:53 PM

R1, really sounds lovely

by Anonymousreply 6March 28, 2020 5:53 PM

Eating lemon yogurt and drinking Earl Grey tea. Afterwards I shall retire to the balcony to read in my new lounge chair.

by Anonymousreply 7March 28, 2020 6:10 PM

How can OP be lying on his couch, slowly making food!?

by Anonymousreply 8March 28, 2020 6:13 PM

Trying to clear the cobwebs from my brain and start a new painting in Palm Springs.

by Anonymousreply 9March 28, 2020 6:16 PM

Turned on the computer for find pron and was distracted by new DL posts.

by Anonymousreply 10March 28, 2020 6:19 PM

Thank you, R6, it really is. My sister graciously invited me to come stay indefinitely. We’re over 60 and sheltering decently. I am blessed.

On a zoom conference.

by Anonymousreply 12March 28, 2020 6:32 PM

I took an Adderall about an hour ago. I'm online going back and forth between DL and Pornhub. A regular wants to swing by but I'm going to abstain for now.

by Anonymousreply 13March 28, 2020 6:32 PM

Laying on the couch with a cat stretched out on me, watching The Office. Waiting for two pounds of ground beef to defrost and then will make a pot of chili and meatballs. My days revolve around food. I’ve already been for an hour-long walk. If it’s not raining later will go for another.

Perfectly happy and content.

You’ve never cooked something?

Here’s a hint: when you put something in the oven, it’s not like those cooking shows you watch where it instantly comes out.

by Anonymousreply 21March 28, 2020 7:15 PM

Just finished lunch (chicken and noodles), laundry and sitting on the couch with HGTV on for background noise (a break from MSNBC) with my laptop. I guess I will have to get up in a few to put away the folded clothes and do some Spring cleaning...Just feeling extra lazy today.

by Anonymousreply 22March 28, 2020 7:15 PM

R8, perhaps OP has a hot plate nearby and is rolling over to throw on some fish sticks.

I'll be the skeleton at the feast. I'm sitting here trying not to cry because I just got back from having our black cat euthanized. He had a serious heart problem, and developed a blood clot on the lower spine, which paralyzed his back legs. He was also in extreme pain. It's called saddle thrombus. He cried all the way to the clinic. He was ten years old and we had no idea that his heart was starting to fail. My heart is torn apart.

Sitting in my office with a box of cookies and waiting for laundry to finish. Cleared out my bathroom and letting cleaner soak everywhere all day and then will spray off (the walls are tile and the floors are ceramic. I haven't done this in a while.) Have Paula Zahn on in the background with murder after murder. 2 cats follow me from room to room as if they're critiquing. I'm kind of loving this Corona lock down.

by Anonymousreply 60March 30, 2020 10:20 PM

R57-I am sorry Miss Lucy. What a terrible time to lose a beloved companion. I wish both you and your beloved peace. She was cherished and that’s what’s important in the end.

by Anonymousreply 61March 30, 2020 10:54 PM

Thank you R51. I don't know how I'm going to get over this, I really don't. He was special. Good natured, a gentle giant of a cat, the other cats loved him. A beautiful, huge black creature. This was so sudden. He was fine this morning.

by Anonymousreply 62March 30, 2020 11:16 PM

R52 : It's definitely there now. Thank god for the 60 percs they gave me. This hurts more than getting raped by a wild boar's corkscrew cock with no lube while being forced to listen to commentators for a football game do the play by play with their annoying commentator voices.

R63 the anesthesia has loosened your tongue or enhanced your narrative skills - which is it?

by Anonymousreply 65March 30, 2020 11:23 PM

Taking a break from clearing out my front hall, getting ready to paint it and the second bedroom. The dust behind the bookshelf was about an inch thick. I've got an hour before I meet a friend for a beachfront walk. I think I'll clean the kitchen so I've got a clear run when I start painting.

Off to do the kitchen now.

by Anonymousreply 66March 30, 2020 11:26 PM

R66 is meeting her new beach friends.

by Anonymousreply 67March 30, 2020 11:28 PM

I condole you MissLucy. Were you able to be with your cat for the procedure? I posted on another thread that my cat is dying of cancer and I am trying to keep her comfortable until I can put her down properly. I have been dropping her at the vet every 7 - 10 days for a steroid shot and IV fluids. I would have put her down two weeks ago but I wouldn’t be allowed to be there and hold her.

The treatments are working but I know she is on borrowed time. She is still eating well and getting around but it breaks my heart that it is time and I can’t do it right now. Of course if she takes a bad turn I will do it. I am just hoping she can hang on to see another spring or maybe even summer, and that she can die in my arms when it is time. I hope you were able to be there with your kitty. In any case, you gave her a beautiful life and did right by her at the end.

by Anonymousreply 68March 30, 2020 11:29 PM

R65 : Probably the latter. I never know when to shut my pie hole.

by Anonymousreply 69March 30, 2020 11:31 PM

Take care and enjoy the recovery room R69.

Did they do the thing with hot blankets? I loved the hot blankets.

by Anonymousreply 70March 30, 2020 11:34 PM

What the fuck is a cat rest?

by Anonymousreply 71March 30, 2020 11:47 PM

R68 I wasn't able to be there. I passed the carrier over to the doctor at the door and described what had happened, but due to the virus, civilians aren't allowed in. However, my partner works at that clinic, so he was able to be with Zeke. I feel completely wiped out, and I think I'm going to feel like that for a while. Best wishes to you and your precious cat, and thank you.

by Anonymousreply 72March 30, 2020 11:51 PM

R72 Sorry.

by Anonymousreply 73March 31, 2020 12:04 AM

Thanks R73

by Anonymousreply 74March 31, 2020 12:10 AM

Yes, R70. They tried to give me hot blanket treatment in the OR as well but I almost blacked out so they took them away for me.

I'm back home now with my leg up. I'm starting to think that the percs that I was given are a placebo because they are nooooooot a' working.

Thanks for wishing me well.

Decompressing from a trip to Costco. Though it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. They have employees all over the place so there were no checkout lines. The only things that they didn't have were TP and wipes. Should be able to stay in for at least 2 weeks now.

by Anonymousreply 87March 31, 2020 2:21 PM

by Anonymousreply 92March 31, 2020 2:51 PM

Back from a three hour, three-store food shopping trip with enough to cover us for the next week or ten days. North of Boston there don’t seem to be many shortages. The only thing on my list I couldn’t find was lactose-free half and half. That’s not always in stock at Market Basket anyway, but they had toilet paper and paper towels. I didn’t need any, but they were down to just a couple of packs of the Clorox wipes. Otherwise the shelves were full, the tape marks on the floor were being used, and people were distancing themselves from one another.

Likewise Wilson Farms in Lexington and Russo’s in Watertown, two greengrocers that have grown from farmstands to full food stores. Russo’s is a restaurant supplier, so they have almost everything they usually do (crappy avocados but they were three for $2.00) and bigger than usual bags of oranges for juice. Wilson Farms had as much or more than they usually do, stocked with stuff for Easter and Passover, so the places here, at least the ones I go to, all seem back to almost normal.
