I am a NEVER BERNIE, are you?

I like my company health insurance. I don't want to pay more in taxes. I live in a Sanctuary City and am fearful of open Southern Border with free healthcare and free education for all (75% of Central America will move here within months). I don't think Mr. Sanders looks remotely Presidential. I think he has a past history of communism.

These are my reasons. If you disagree, fine. If you vote for him, fine, at least you plan to vote. BUT PLEASE don't hate me for not wanting to vote for Bernie! Also, I am one person and not a BOT or a TROLL and I never voted for a Republican in my life.

by Anonymousreply 214February 29, 2020 8:36 PM

I sware to God that if Bernie Sanders is the nominee I will vote for Trump on the Conservative Party line in New York State!

by Anonymousreply 1February 19, 2020 11:22 AM

Trump REALLY REALLY wants Bernie to be his opponent, that tells me everything.

by Anonymousreply 2February 19, 2020 11:23 AM

I'm just glad we have another anti-Bernie Sanders thread started. There hasn't been a new one since Tuesday afternoon.

by Anonymousreply 3February 19, 2020 11:25 AM

R1 says it all: Never Bernies are pro-Trump.

by Anonymousreply 4February 19, 2020 11:26 AM

[quote]BUT PLEASE don't hate me for not wanting to vote for Bernie!

Don't worry honey. There are DOZENS of other reasons to hate you!

by Anonymousreply 5February 19, 2020 11:27 AM

Funny, R3, there have been multi-thousand Pro Bern threads. Time for a switch.

by Anonymousreply 6February 19, 2020 11:28 AM

he will fuk up the dems beating trump like he did las time when Hillary lost. fukker

by Anonymousreply 7February 19, 2020 11:29 AM

R5 is a TROLL. I know this because of the nasty reaction to the OP's reasonable objections to Bernie. Most of these Bernie Trolls are without redemption. DOWN WITH BERNIE.

by Anonymousreply 8February 19, 2020 11:29 AM

I am most definitely a NEVER BERNIE AND HIS BOLSHEVIST BROS!!!!

by Anonymousreply 9February 19, 2020 11:32 AM

Actually R5 is a Warren supporter.

But I will gladly vote for whoever wins the Democratic nomination.

by Anonymousreply 10February 19, 2020 11:33 AM

Agree with you, OP. I'm another Never Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 11February 19, 2020 11:33 AM

Millionaire Bernie is a ConMan.

by Anonymousreply 12February 19, 2020 11:34 AM

then you're an idiot, OP. I'm a Bernie if he's my only choice in the end against Trump. I'd prefer several others, but ANY of them are better than Trump again. I'll begrudgingly vote for Bernie when it's down to the wire, if I have to.

by Anonymousreply 13February 19, 2020 11:38 AM

OP here. I won't vote Bernie if he is the nominee. I won't vote for Trump. I would write in a name if it comes to it, because I believe in voting. Anyone who votes Bernie, I say congratz on voting and leave it at that. Hopefully, we can all agree that we all must show up and vote.

by Anonymousreply 14February 19, 2020 11:42 AM

I'd vote for Honey Booboo if the alternative is Donald Trump.

by Anonymousreply 15February 19, 2020 11:42 AM

I’m for HEADS ON PIKES.

by Anonymousreply 16February 19, 2020 11:45 AM

Almost, but no. If he’s Trump’s opponent, I will vote for him. I won’t not vote. But he is the worst case scenario. I would honestly vote for Marianne Williamson before Bernie Sanders.

by Anonymousreply 17February 19, 2020 11:46 AM

That's cause Marianne Williamson would be 100 times a better president than Bernie!

by Anonymousreply 18February 19, 2020 11:49 AM

Iwill vote for who ever is on the Democratic ticket. I doubt Bernie will be able to accomplish much if he is elected.

by Anonymousreply 19February 19, 2020 11:50 AM

[quote] I won't vote for Trump. I would write in a name if it comes to it, because I believe in voting.

How noble of you.

by Anonymousreply 20February 19, 2020 11:53 AM

Bernie has good intentions but doesn't strike me as Presidential. He isn't a real Democrat either.

by Anonymousreply 21February 19, 2020 11:54 AM

President Bernie would have no choice but to operate like Trump as a president. He is too radical. He will propose recreating all institutions in his vision. Zero Republicans *and* many non-radical Democrats will support him. He will make public speeches—rallies, as Trump does—to make the public angry. He will tell them that their government works against them, as Trump does. He will further polarize people. He will cross legal lines with his executive orders. Newly installed conservative judges especially will rule against him. It will be the same, except that unlike Trump, Sanders will be rejected by many members of his own party.

by Anonymousreply 22February 19, 2020 11:55 AM

R22 nailed it.

by Anonymousreply 23February 19, 2020 11:57 AM

[quote] BUT PLEASE don't hate me for not wanting to vote for Bernie!

Let me guess. You were one of those Hillary supporters in 2016 who said, "I don't care how much those Bernie Bros hate Hillary. She's the nominee, and if they don't want Trump to be president, they had better vote for her." Now that the situation is reversed, you change your tune.

by Anonymousreply 24February 19, 2020 11:59 AM

Or perhaps OP is a Democrat who doesn't want to or cannot bring himself to vote for an opportunist who only pretends to be one, every four years for a few months, and who gives nothing back to his party and only takes from it?

by Anonymousreply 25February 19, 2020 12:03 PM

Better a Socialist president than a dictator.

by Anonymousreply 26February 19, 2020 12:06 PM

"Bernie Sanders filed Monday to be a candidate for the Senate in 2024 — as an Independent.

But last month, Sanders filed as a Democrat for president."

by Anonymousreply 27February 19, 2020 12:06 PM

Bernie has zero chance of enacting the reforms you list, OP, so he remains a far better choice than Trump.

by Anonymousreply 28February 19, 2020 12:08 PM

What R26 said

by Anonymousreply 29February 19, 2020 12:10 PM

I'm a neverBernie, but it's not about healthcare for me. I think he is a disaster. He'd make a terrible PResident. I am a progressive, but I have always been suspicious of ideologically rigid people and he has demigogue in his DNA. I have no problem with a Medicare for All phase in. There will always be private insurers. Medicare provides the basics, and you can supplement it with private insurance. Or you can get comprehensive coverage in one integrated plan which is what Ma has.

My mother has been on Medicare for five years. She has Blue Cross/Medicare Advantage. She's in a PPO - a Preferred Provider plan. Which means she can self refer to anyone she needs to see as long as they're part of the plan and most doctors are. She pays $25 for a visit, $40 if the provider is out of network. No one tells her who she can or can't see. Her prescription drugs are covered too.

Every Medicare participant pays between $80 to $125 a month for their coverage. And one of the best features aside from cost and access to care, is that it's portable. You're not tied to employer plans. People complain about choice, but your employer limits your access to insurance. How many options do you get to pick from, with an Employer's plan?

Right now a friend's brother has a very aggressive form of cancer. He was working as a waiter for the same restaurant for 13 yrs. Had healthcare. But he is so weak from treatments that aren't working, that he was forced to finally quit work. He can't afford the COBRA premiums. Do some research on your own. Medicare 4 All is not a bad thing. I like that it definitely lowers costs, gives you the ability to chose a private insurer supplement if you want one, and that it' portable. As anyone who has Medicare. it really works. It's really a hybrid of public & private, but BErnie would never frame it that way because he is consumed with ideology.

by Anonymousreply 30February 19, 2020 12:23 PM

I'll only vote of Amy is the nominee.

by Anonymousreply 31February 19, 2020 12:32 PM

I am afraid Medicare for All will be a disaster and destroy Medicare for the elderly in the process. The olds should not vote for Bernie!

by Anonymousreply 32February 19, 2020 12:44 PM

Bernie and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez are rabid communists. Bernie also is very unhealthy. He just had a heart attack and is probably not even healthy enough to last 2 years in office.

I want someone more dynamic and middle of the road. Right now everything is divided and unbalanced. I want a healer in chief and someone who will re-balance the ship and not tip it in some other direction.

by Anonymousreply 33February 19, 2020 12:46 PM

r30 Medicare for all is a bad fucking thing if you open the country (and the benefit) to the entirety of the 3rd world. You can have one of two things: a welfare state or open borders. Both will not work. I will vote for Trump all day long if there is no Dem with a sensible immigration policy.

by Anonymousreply 34February 19, 2020 12:47 PM

No. I would vote for a diseased ham sandwich if it were the nominee.

Bernie and Bloomie are only slightly more appealing than the ham, but Trump has already broken things, and I want to stop destruction.

by Anonymousreply 35February 19, 2020 12:49 PM

Not voting at all helped Trump in '16. I want to punch all of you who are too pure to vote if candidate X doesn't get the nom.

by Anonymousreply 36February 19, 2020 12:51 PM

I am not a Bernie fan. But if it's him between the Idiot? Yeah, I'll pick Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 37February 19, 2020 12:53 PM

It’s a sad time. Pete is the most sane, well-spoken and intelligent candidate but you all want Clogged Artery Bernie, Uncle Scrooge Bloomberg, Krazy Klobuchar, Wacky Warren and Dementia Joe.

by Anonymousreply 38February 19, 2020 1:00 PM

Right OP helping re-elect Trump over some shit that Bernie will never get through Congress is very smart! You and the rest of the people like you are absolute idiots.

by Anonymousreply 39February 19, 2020 1:01 PM

Its a pretty simple choice

If its a Bernie vs Trump ticket the vote is between Communism or Prosperity.

So yeah - pick one and vote.

by Anonymousreply 40February 19, 2020 1:04 PM

#BLUENOMATTERWHO bitches otherwise it’s death camps for us non white gay non Christians. Oh the elderly and infirm will also be left to die in the streets if Trump wins again.

Just an fyi!

I hate Bernie and Bloomberg too but grow the fuck up dems & unify!

by Anonymousreply 41February 19, 2020 1:04 PM

Death camps?

We already KNOW the elderly and infirm will be left to die in the streets if Bloomberg wins R41.. See his comments below in this video. Fuck that.

Sorry but I'm voting for Trump. Life's been good financially for me since he took office. Best in a decade! I'm not taking any chances with Bernie - and Bloomberg made NYC a city only for the wealthy - he will do that in a broader scale to this county.

No thanks.

This is the IQ Bell Curve. Under a certain IQ, likely Democratic voters will be hopeless against this year's election hacking. The hacking is the Media and the Powers That Be doing everything to create conflict and controversy, to create traffic, hits, and thus profits, on a daily basis. Party unity be damned. And it will be. The winner of the primaries will be irreparably damaged and the voters will be hopelessly lost to anger and bitterness that they didn't get exactly what they wanted, instead they got _____.

OP is one of these trolls. Quite stupid.

by Anonymousreply 43February 19, 2020 1:11 PM

R42 - Do you get a free illegal alien child with that vote?

by Anonymousreply 44February 19, 2020 1:13 PM

While he's certainly not my first choice I will most definitely vote for him if he becomes the nominee. Plus I realize that much of what he says he wants to do will require approval by Congress so he's not going to get everything he claims he wants now. And regarding all his claims, what he says he'll do now and what he'll actually do if he's elected are 2 different things in many cases. The reality of the job and the power of the Presidency without fail surprises every person who's ever won the election.

by Anonymousreply 45February 19, 2020 1:15 PM

R2 Hillary REALLY REALLY wanted to run against Trump and.....

by Anonymousreply 46February 19, 2020 1:17 PM

If Bernie is the nominee it's likely the Democrats will lose the House and the presidential election.

by Anonymousreply 47February 19, 2020 1:17 PM

Fuck this ancient con man. He’s now refusing to release further health records, calling it a “smear campaign”. No asshole, you’re 78 years old and just had a heart attack. It’s reality.

by Anonymousreply 48February 19, 2020 1:19 PM

I really don't understand why he's the frontrunner for the nomination. He's almost 80 and he's not well. This is ridiculous. If by the unlikely chance he actually won, he would probably last in the office as long as William Henry Harrison.

by Anonymousreply 49February 19, 2020 1:23 PM

Nope, not voting for Bernie in a primary several days from now. Will not vote for Trump.

Pete, Biden, Amy, Elizabeth, and Bloomberg (if him vs Trump) I will vote for vs Trump.

R38, concur. Pete is the best of them all.

The cable media and guest black pundits on TV have deliberately tried to damage Pete, including now, after strong finishes in Iowa and NH. They choose not to speak about Pete much as if he is Michael Bennet three weeks ago.

The media is all about Bernie (who the Republicans want to face), new, rich flavor Bloomberg, and trying to inject some adrenaline into Biden so his knockout can be delayed till Super Tuesday.

None of these candidates are confronting Bernie sufficiently. Big mistake! The cultists (Bros+) are not going to be won over. Prevent others from joining the manufactured Bernie bandwagon.

by Anonymousreply 50February 19, 2020 1:23 PM

Bernie Bros always talk about his great plans, but what has he done up to this point to prove that he can do anything? Name the significant piece of legislation? Name the major initiative? I mean, really what has he done?

by Anonymousreply 51February 19, 2020 1:23 PM

Here's the thing OP: you have zero idea whether MFA will actually be an improvement on your current corporate health insurance.

Nor do you have any guarantee that your company or union won't switch to a more cost effective (for them) but considerably crappier (for you) plan.

MFA is the least of Bernie's problems: he has zero idea what he is doing in terms of foreign policy and has not articulated much on that topic.

by Anonymousreply 52February 19, 2020 1:25 PM

[quote]but what has he done up to this point to prove that he can do anything? Name the significant piece of legislation? Name the major initiative? I mean, really what has he done?

He’s done nothing. And I really want the other candidates to hammer this point. Why isn’t Senator Klobuchar pointing out that he’s a waste of space in the Senate?

by Anonymousreply 53February 19, 2020 1:27 PM

Since the Soviet Union and then Castro died Bernie has no foreign policy!

by Anonymousreply 54February 19, 2020 1:27 PM

Better dead than Red Oh wait. Better head than bed! No, that's not it.

by Anonymousreply 55February 19, 2020 1:36 PM

I am Never Bloomberg personally.

by Anonymousreply 56February 19, 2020 1:40 PM

What’s Pete accomplished for the country? I mean you can’t say Bernie hasn’t done enough and then go and vote for Pete who hasn’t served one day in the federal government.

Democrats must love losing. You think republicans gave a shit that Trump did nothing? Or that he didn’t release medical records? No, he promised them a bunch of shit and he won. Why can’t democrats just be content with winning no matter what?

by Anonymousreply 57February 19, 2020 1:40 PM

He's done jack shit, R51! NADA

by Anonymousreply 58February 19, 2020 1:41 PM

Bernie has had THIRTY YEARS and done NOTHING, R58

That mother fucker napped during Trump's Impeachment trial! Fuck his old, useless ass!

by Anonymousreply 59February 19, 2020 1:43 PM

r59, one man can only do so much. Corproate dems care more about big money interests than they do about voters. It is what it is.

by Anonymousreply 60February 19, 2020 1:45 PM

Bloomberg hates working class Americans. He will be a tough sell, TV ads can only do so much. He's not very convincing when he speaks and is lacking in charisma. Trump's going to eat him alive.

Bernie is the only one that can give Trump a run for his money and Trump knows it. even Bloomberg knows it which is why he's scrambling to stop him.

by Anonymousreply 61February 19, 2020 1:47 PM

I’m AnyDem

by Anonymousreply 62February 19, 2020 1:47 PM

LOL, nothing done in thirty years and its everyone's fault but the lazy ass Bernie?

And you think he's going to be to take on all of those 'Corporate Dems' plus the Republicans plus outside forces PLUS his shitty health?

Ridiculous.

by Anonymousreply 63February 19, 2020 1:48 PM

Bloomberg is also a racist, sexist, and a transphobe. A lot of the Democratic base won't vote for him.

by Anonymousreply 64February 19, 2020 1:48 PM

HE FUKD UP HILLARY WINNING

HE WILL FUK UP THIS ONE AND LET TRUMP WIN

FUKKKER

by Anonymousreply 65February 19, 2020 1:50 PM

Tom Perez, DNC Chair, needs to go.

Stephen J. Cloobeck is adamant about that. Cloobeck was interviewed by Stephanie Rhule this morning. Cloobeck is Chairman of Diamond Resorts International, and former head of Brand USA.

He noted only the two mayors have met a payroll. He favors Bloomberg and Buttigieg, and believes Bloomberg can beat Trump.

Coobeck is vehemently opposed to Bernie Sanders.

by Anonymousreply 66February 19, 2020 1:52 PM

[quote]I really don't understand why he's the frontrunner for the nomination.

Same reason Trump won in 2016. There is a wide swatch of voters who are so disgusted with the status quo that they're willing to roll the dice and take a chance with someone they perceive as an outsider.

by Anonymousreply 67February 19, 2020 1:52 PM

R61, why would they be scared of a guy who cant even stand up to the Democratic party (considered by Sanders supporters to be so weak) to get anything of import passed or done in thirty damn years?

He can't even stay awake to do the job he's currently being paid for. He cant safely shower alone. Get a clue, any clue!

by Anonymousreply 68February 19, 2020 1:53 PM

Bernie is lazy and wants everything handed to him, which is probably why the Bros like him so much.

by Anonymousreply 69February 19, 2020 1:55 PM

by Anonymousreply 70February 19, 2020 1:56 PM

Bloomberg has heart disease and cancer and he's the same age as Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 71February 19, 2020 1:56 PM

[quote]Bernie is the only one that can give Trump a run for his money and Trump knows it.

Oh please. Trump is PRAYING to run against Bernie. He was encouraging Republicans in New Hampshire to get out and vote for Bernie in the Dem Primary.

by Anonymousreply 72February 19, 2020 1:57 PM

R70 where are Bloomberg’s? Warren’s? Biden’s? Bernie has released just as much as everyone else.

I find it funny that anti Bernie people can’t find any policy reasons to go after Bernie so they have to create manufactured outrage over things that most people don’t care about.

by Anonymousreply 73February 19, 2020 1:57 PM

What did Bloomberg do except kicking poor people out of their homes to build luxury condos for the rich, ban soda, and racially profile black and latinos?

You guys think Democrats are going to vote for that guy? Oh You will never learn....

by Anonymousreply 74February 19, 2020 1:58 PM

If Sanders is such a socialist to redistribute wealth, will this apply also to his wife.& college bankrupter Jane, dirty trickster Weaver, and Manafort bud, Tad Divine?

by Anonymousreply 75February 19, 2020 2:00 PM

r72, That's because Trump knows the establishment coproate dems will never let Bernie be the nominee even if he wins in votes and delgates. Plus he loves trolling the coprorate dems.

Trump has already been very clear that the only democrat that speaks the language of the working class is Bernie and it's true. You can't win without them, dems. didn't you learn anything from last time?

by Anonymousreply 76February 19, 2020 2:00 PM

Lol "manufactured outrage"

by Anonymousreply 77February 19, 2020 2:01 PM

[quote]I find it funny that anti Bernie people can’t find any policy reasons to go after Bernie

What are Bernie's policies? He spent his entire time on the campaign trail being vague. He hasn't explained one detail of his so-called amazing progressive policies and how he plans to implement them. At least Liz Warren had the balls to give details. I find it amazing that Bernie has not be pressed to provide any information or numbers on what he plans to do.

by Anonymousreply 78February 19, 2020 2:01 PM

[quote]I find it funny that anti Bernie people can’t find any policy reasons to go after Bernie

Bernie has no policy. His entire campaign is “we’re having a movement”.

The only movement Sanders is having is his bowels.

by Anonymousreply 79February 19, 2020 2:02 PM

Well, R76, if Anusmouth says so, I better believe him!

by Anonymousreply 80February 19, 2020 2:02 PM

[quote]The only movement Sanders is having is his bowels.

Trust me, that only happens with the miracles of modern medicine.

by Anonymousreply 81February 19, 2020 2:03 PM

I’m gonna laugh so hard when Trump easily wins again in 2020. Democrats are a fucking mess. The Bernie folks will stay home if he isn’t the nominee. If he is this nominee all the efforts from all the other campaigns will have pretty badly damaged him and there’s a serious Never Bernie section of democrats. Fucking idiots. All you had to do was come together to get rid of Trump and then figure all of this shit out. But nope.

by Anonymousreply 82February 19, 2020 2:05 PM

No, I'm not Never Bernie, I'm Forever Blue, unless it's Tulsi Gabbard which would be no different than voting for Trump.

by Anonymousreply 83February 19, 2020 2:06 PM

R82, Bernie bros wont be the only ones staying home if Bloomberg buys the nomination. So will politically active Women, black folks, and LGBTQ people. And anyone who cares about the santicy of the American electoral process.

by Anonymousreply 84February 19, 2020 2:08 PM

Me to R82. It's crazy - 3 years and this is what we have to work with?

Too much time being infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome - drooling over Rachel Maddows Russian Conspiracy theories - and now 3 years later we have this. Nothings been accomplished and all the candidates suck balls.

Trump 2020.

by Anonymousreply 85February 19, 2020 2:09 PM

Stephen Cloobeck, a longtime Democratic donor, is ripping Bernie Sanders in an interview with @SRuhle. Cloobeck says "anyone but Bernie" and is calling for DNC chairman Tom Perez to "step down." Cloobeck added he's backing Mike Bloomberg for president.

by Anonymousreply 86February 19, 2020 2:13 PM

Republicans are inflating BErnie's candidacy. They want him to win. They are totally focused on Bernie right now. They want him to get the nomination. Yes. It is the truth.

by Anonymousreply 87February 19, 2020 2:17 PM

And what if Bernie has another “minor” heart attack? That’s all Trump has to harp on to beat him.

by Anonymousreply 88February 19, 2020 2:17 PM

He can harp on Bloomberg's many health ailments too.. skin cancer and heart disease is no joke.

by Anonymousreply 89February 19, 2020 2:19 PM

DA, Comr... I mean, me too!

by Anonymousreply 90February 19, 2020 2:21 PM

I’m glad we have a thread to keep track of all of the hypocrites who feign concern over Dump being President but admit they won’t vote for the Democratic front-runner.

Also, you fear mongering can stop now. EVERYONE knows most Presidents get less than 50% of what they want done. I’m sure under a Sanders presidency your insurance would remain in tact and might actually improve because although Bernie’s M4A will be blocked, he’ll still fight doggedly for improvement upon the current model.

We want Senator Bernie Sanders as President of the United States because he speaks truth to power (ALWAYS has) and since he isn’t beholden to any special interests or the establishment, he WILL call out those who continue to impede upon the social and economic progress of this country.

He’s already responsible for yanking the Democratic Party from the moderate RIGHT to center LEFT per global standards.

Senator Bernie Sanders will become the 46th President of the United States with or without your vote.

by Anonymousreply 91February 19, 2020 2:22 PM

Bernie with Lizzie as VP. Then we;ll have a woman president fairly quickly.

IF Bernie is the nominee, he has my vote. Although I don't agree with many of his policies, I am infinitely more in agreement with HIS then I am with tRump's positions - which are NONE, unless it benefits him.

by Anonymousreply 96February 19, 2020 2:26 PM

Bernie is my last choice for President except for Trump so I would vote for him over Trump. However none, absolutely none of Bernie's proposals are ever going to pass congress even if Democrats control both houses. I doubt Bernie can beat Trump but even if he does, the congress isn't going to consists of entirely AOC types, there will be many Democratic moderates who aren't going to vote for Medicare for all, free tuition, or open borders.

by Anonymousreply 97February 19, 2020 2:26 PM

Remember when trump was rushed to the hospital in the middle of the night and the news cycle around it only lasted a day. But Bernie-who fully disclosed his heart attack and released 4 letters from his doctors-is somehow the devil incarnate because he won’t release his full records.

Cons are held to different standards and democrats just allow it to happen. They just can’t sit back and do whatever it takes to win.

by Anonymousreply 98February 19, 2020 2:28 PM

Math is not Bernie's forte.

Like Trump and the Republicans, run up trillions in debt. Print more dollars at the fed as Wilbur Ross and Steven Mnuchin are doing, and have foreign nations, China particularly, underwrite and receive the interest on the borrowed money.

If it has to be a mean old man controlling my money, I'd rather have an honest one, not the greedy or incompetent.

Bloomberg gives some hope with the deficit. Pete would be fiscally responsible as well.

by Anonymousreply 99February 19, 2020 2:28 PM

R91, I despise Trump. But under Trump democrats took back the House of Reps. Increased governorships and state legislatures. All of that democratic progress would come to a screeching halt if Bernie gets the top of the ticket. Presidents aren't kings. The thought of another 4 years of Trump makes me ill, but so does the thought of 4 years of Bernie.

by Anonymousreply 100February 19, 2020 2:28 PM

by Anonymousreply 101February 19, 2020 2:28 PM

R105, So basically you have no idea either.

We can do better, Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 108February 19, 2020 2:40 PM

There's one main thing people need to remember. It's far more likely that how you think things are going to turn out will not be the way they do turn out. A lot can happen between now and the convention in mid June. Americans are very fickle politically. We change our minds on a dime.

by Anonymousreply 109February 19, 2020 2:46 PM

Nominate Bernie and we lose. Trump will crucify him with innuendo, name calling and fear mongering of socialism - without ever having to actually define it. In a debate and at his disgusting rallies Trump will steamroll him with nonsense and lies even as Bernie makes a valiant attempt to stand up to him. It won't matter. Trump will spend October shoving him in the shoulder like the 7th grade bullyboy he is. And the media, his base and the usual deplorables will love it. Cheering the political beating, loving the circus. Trump will avoid or lie about the issues (as he did in his SOTU and win on entertainment value alone. Bernie gives him ample distraction from every cruel, mean-spirited and criminal thing he has done since Jan 2017. Even as I hold my nose and vote for Bernie here in NYC, it will not make a rat's ass of difference in the outcome. Bloomberg/Abrams. Anyone/Abrams has a running chance. Bernie/?? Nope. But Susan and the Bros will be happy, gloating from the supposed moral high ground. And then bemoaning Trump truly unleashed for four more years.

Abrahams will never make anyone vote for Bloomberg. She is getting called out by black people as a sellout for taking 5 million dollars from him for an endorsment.

by Anonymousreply 112February 19, 2020 2:55 PM

The only way I would ever vote for Bernie is if he picks someone awesome as his VP (because I think he won't make it through a complete term). But he'll probably pick someone toxic like Nina Turner, which will make my vow to not vote for him easier to uphold.

And, no, that doesn't mean I'd vote for the Orange Asshole. I might just leave the President column empty. But I live in California, and the last election showed me how little my vote matters in the Electoral College scheme of things. I'd rather devote my time and money to supporting down-ballot Democrats around the country, who I think will be ill-served by a Sanders candidacy. (Since he & his minions hate the Democratic Party so much.)

by Anonymousreply 113February 19, 2020 2:57 PM

Although I am not a Bernie supporter (I still have hopes for Warren), I will absolutely vote for him if he is nominated. And I will not have to "hold my nose" to do so.

If he is nominated, I will become a Bernie Bro so fast it will make my own head spin.

Bloomberg’s medical history:

Details: Bloomberg underwent a coronary stent placement for a blocked artery in 2000, and his doctor reports that he has undergone routine cardiac stress testing since then.

In 2018, Bloomberg developed atrial fibrillation — a form of irregular heartbeat — for which he now takes a blood thinner. Bloomberg also takes medicine to control his cholesterol, in addition to a beta-blocker. Bloomberg's doctors says he has also had "small skin cancers removed, and is treated for arthritis and heartburn, both of which are well controlled." The letter also notes that Bloomberg "exercises several times a week and plays golf avidly."

The one think that I can say about Bernie is that he has avid supporters. I may not like or agree with them, but they are passionate. I cannot say that about any of the other Democratic candidates. His supporters may well be the factor that can allow the eventual Democratic nominee to win in November.

I dismissed Trump in 2016 as unelectable despite his passionate supporters. I was incredibly wrong to do so.

But man, Elizabeth Warren kicked ass last night!

by Anonymousreply 155February 20, 2020 1:18 PM

Please go and donate a few dollars to Elizabeth Warren. She is the only one who can drain primary voters from Bernie. by Anonymousreply 160February 20, 2020 2:14 PM

To me the only good thing about Boiny is, if the election is close, he will go berserk with counting and verifying every single vote in the country and try to win. And this will finally reveal the hacking and dumping and voter fraud that lets the Republicans win again and again.

Of course, the country will be thrown into apocalyptic chaos.

There will be none of that wimpy John Kerry-style conceding.

POLITICO: Bernie Sanders hasn’t won the Democratic primary — but down-ballot Republicans are having a field day acting like he has.

Republicans up and down the ballot are already casting their Democratic rivals as socialist puppets who would remake the economy in Sanders’ collectivist vision. The play is straightforward: President Donald Trump has repelled college-educated suburban voters since he took office; Republicans want to win them back by arguing the alternative is worse.

Of course Russia backs Bernie! A 79 yr old who just had a fucking heart attack, would not be doing this well if they weren't. Y'all need to read how Mueller outlined the methodology to the Russian interference beginning in 2014 on Social media, how they funnel and launder money, and mind fuck people.

by Anonymousreply 189February 22, 2020 2:31 AM

By himself Bernie is an eccentric bully. He's an old style campus radical from the 60's & 70's who freeloads and preaches and exploits a sense of grievance. He is a chaos agent. These guys had/have huge egos, and are passionate about their political beliefs, their "revolution" which they have integrated with their ego needs. If they were ever given any power they'd be dangerous. They are the wrecking crew and they are undemocratic.

So right now, Bernie's enormous ego, fed by his celebrity, refuses to accept that his campaign and his supporters have been manipulated by the Russians or any other outside group with their own agenda. He will embrace the very resources they provide, he will take advantage of this to feed his ego needs, while ranting against outsiders. Truth is, he doesn't care. He's a "by any means necessary" kind of guy. He will deplore and access Russian help simultaneously, even as people around him enrich themselves by taking advantage of the situation.

We all need to be smarter. OMG, the Russians are coming. Yes. They are interfering with our elections. Presidential, Congressional, etc. They're using social media and technology to do it. OMG. OMG. You know what? Get smart. Don't be so fucking gullible. Look at the candidates who are running. Examine their record. Go to youtube or C-Span and watch a few speeches, to try to get a sense of them.

Ask yourself, who can I trust? Who will work the hardest to earn my trust, and prove themselves? Who offers real plans and knows WTF their talking about? As Bill Clinton said, "Go with the one who offers you Hope." And then turn off the noise, the bullshit horserace panic of the media hype, and get out here to fight for ballot security and support your down ballot candidates. They need it.

by Anonymousreply 190February 22, 2020 3:39 PM

Look. It's not complicated. Just vote for the fucking Democrats. All up and down the ballot. Yes, the Russians are helping Bernie. That's bad. But if by some odd twist of fate Bernie becomes POTUS, he will think he's in charge, and he will get so fucked up he won't be able to do nothing. I would rather have Bernie fucking up and getting nothing done, that Trump. We see what Trump is doing. We know where he wants to go. We know he has his team of enablers. Stopping Trump is the goal. Getting him out. So Bernie Fuck Up while not the best option, will at least derail the Trump machine. I hate Bernie. But I hate Trump even more.

R158, I am not going to try and talk you into voting for a Presidential candidate even though I think you should, but PLEASE still go vote, there are many other candidates down ballot who need your vote and they can prove to be a buffer to keep which ever person wins the Presidency from doing some bad shit.

by Anonymousreply 195February 22, 2020 8:40 PM

I am tired of having crazy people be President, I don't want Trump or Bernie, but I am a Democrat and I will vote for the Democratic nominee because of Supreme Court and Federal Judge appointments and then spend another four years muting my TV when either Bernie or Trump comes on TV because they both act like they are certifiably crazy.

If Trump and McConnell get another 4 years of appointing unqualified conservative Christians as Federal Judges this country will start looking like a Christian version of Iran. Judges are all we have to protect our rights now.

by Anonymousreply 196February 22, 2020 8:50 PM

NEVER, Bernie!

by Anonymousreply 197February 23, 2020 7:55 PM

If we turn out in overwhelming numbers and vote for members of the House and the Senate, like, gain four or five Senate seats and kiss McConnell good bye, and hold the House, and we elect Democratic state legislatures and Governors, etc. We will be rebuilding the firewall no matter who wins the Presidency. So #VotBlueNoMatterWho is the strategy for 2020 with or without the POTUS .

by Anonymousreply 198February 23, 2020 10:30 PM

The Bernieplorables are as bad as the MAGAts!

#NeverBernie!!!!!!!

by Anonymousreply 199February 23, 2020 10:31 PM

They probably are MAGAts pretending to be Bernie supporters, just like in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 200February 23, 2020 10:48 PM

Bernieplorables.

Use the correct term, please.

by Anonymousreply 201February 23, 2020 10:54 PM

Bernie was a bottom many years ago, I wonder if he still gets it in.

by Anonymousreply 202February 24, 2020 12:34 AM

Look. Are people really that stupid? Don't answer. It was rhetorical. In 2016 we had 16 million Republicans running for President with one loud mouth reality show clown. This time Vladimir is having a even more fun with the political chicanery coming from the Left. Almost identical scenario. We have 16 million Democrats running for POTUS, and one loud-mouth lunatic reliving the 60's. We need to push the media to vet Bernie. Tell them to pretend he is Hillary and don't accept any answers he gives you. Keep hounding him.

by Anonymousreply 203February 25, 2020 3:59 PM

If you "don't want to pay more in taxes,"force your Republican congressmen, Senators and criminal Presidents to CUT SOCIAL SECURITY AND THE MILITARY SPENDING BY $23 TRILLION, which is what your greedy ass has consued on unnecessary wars and your own benefits that you never paid for.

Which Republican even PROPOSED cutting enough to pay for your greedy, lazy, delinquent ass and theirs?

Which Republican did you vote out of office for provoking the $4 trillion Iraq mess?

Why should your grandchildren pay $230 trillion in the future for your $23 trillion government benefits that you're unwilling to pay for today?

We get it. You "don't like to pay taxes." You just like passing your gluttonous spending on to other people because you're a socialist. Only you want taxpayers to pay compounding interest on top of the cost!

by Anonymousreply 204February 25, 2020 5:41 PM

We need to get smart and get our shit together. Seriously. Politics is War. The Republicans have been plotting out their strategy for at least the past two years if not four years. They are giving up nothing. McConnell has a huge dark money account fucking up the North Carolina Democratic Primary as we speak. They have had their shit in place and ready to roll for months. They are smartly starting the campaign in the primaries. They want to make sure that the good candidates don't win. They want Bernie's extreme candidates to win. And t the dumbasses like AOC and others are so blinded by ego and ideology they're either deliberately or inadvertently helping McConnell and the forces of evil. Watch out for peop who are too far to the left. They want the House back.

by Anonymousreply 205February 25, 2020 8:03 PM

Something about his greedy little grin makes me nervous. It's like he's smarter than you and has everyone duped.

He wants to be President more than anything in the world. Not for us. For himself.

by Anonymousreply 206February 25, 2020 9:54 PM

No. I dislike him greatly, but I would dislike 4 more years of this shit even more.

by Anonymousreply 207February 25, 2020 9:58 PM

Not a 'Never Bernie', I don't think he'll be a good choice but if he gets the nom, he gets my vote.

by Anonymousreply 208February 25, 2020 10:41 PM

I'm kind of worried that Trump and the Russians have some hidden information about Bernie, which is why they're promoting him.

by Anonymousreply 209February 25, 2020 10:47 PM

[quote]I'm kind of worried that Trump and the Russians have some hidden information about Bernie, which is why they're promoting him.

Of course they do. Hillary allegedly also has a bunch of opposition research on him...so I'm not sure why she hasn't released any of it yet? But then again, she's never been strategic or politically savvy.

by Anonymousreply 210February 25, 2020 11:27 PM

Anyone who chooses to honeymoon in Communist Russia is not getting my vote for President......Fatal flaw for me.

I don't even care that his wild and crazy ideas are pure nonsense. I paid all my student loans off over 15 years and don't want to pay more in taxes to forgive everyone else's loans.

by Anonymousreply 211February 25, 2020 11:57 PM

Hunny, you know those meat hammers Mama used to use to tenderize the meat? Right now, the Republicans are using those to work on the independents, undecideds and MAGAts. The foundation of their campaign? The Democrats are too extreme, the Democrats embrace "Socialism" and the are going to raise taxes and take away your guns and your healthcare. They kill babies. They will wreck the economy.

Right now in Georgia, those are the ads Loeffler is running against Collins. She was appointed by Kemp to fill out Isakson's term. Looney Congressman Collins was offered a job by Trump but he turned it down to challenge her in the Republican primary. They're both vile people. She's wealthy, even has a private jet. My point is the Republicans are prepared to run against the Far Left Socialists. Now who would that be?????

Republicans are also crossing over and voting in the Democratic primaries everywhere they can. If they have no primary challengers of their own, they're going to mess with ours. They're running ads and bankrolling disruptions. They want to try, as they did in 2018, with help from AOC and Bernie, get the most extreme Left Democrats nominated in Congressional races to primary the moderates in Red states.

Pete was correct last night when he was talking about the 40 members of Congress who are running away from Bernie. All the people he & AOC supported in 2018, none won their primaries. The more moderate Dems won. Putin is determined to hep us tear this country apart. He'll use race & gender politics, he will use fear of Jews and Muslims, he will use Left vs. Right. He doesn't give a fuck. Cause chaos. Weaken us internally. Sow confusion.

We have to understand what their strategy is and beat them. We have to unite. A guy like Steyer, who has no path to the nomination is running 3rd in South Carolina. He's a spoiler. Amy and Elizabeth: no path. By March 20, we will know whether Joe has survived or not. Pete, Mike Bloomberg or Biden. That will be our choice to defeat Bernie/Putin and defeat Trump.

by Anonymousreply 212February 26, 2020 9:43 AM

I am sad to see what is happening, but I can only vote for Butti, Bloomy,or Uncle Joe. If it is anyone else, Trump will win anyway, so it won't matter if I don't vote, since I live in NY.

by Anonymousreply 213February 26, 2020 11:09 AM

I am so NOT voting for Bernie, come what may. Let the Dem party collapse and re-build and better chance next cycle.
