Fran Lebowitz sounds off on 2020

Trump was always considered beneath contempt; Sanders is a phony. On Buttigieg: "He couldn't handle being president of my condo board." Her choice: Elizabeth Warren because she's "the smartest."

Starts at 13:03, but the whole thing is good.

why do lesbians have to dress like men?

by Anonymousreply 1February 17, 2020 5:27 PM

The photo in the link startled me. I thought it was Gene Simmons.

by Anonymousreply 2February 17, 2020 5:28 PM

I thought it was Larry King wearing a reggae wig

by Anonymousreply 3February 17, 2020 5:31 PM

Because it's much more comfortable, r1.

by Anonymousreply 4February 17, 2020 5:31 PM

Fran HATES Bloomberg.

R1 is fearful that women are taking some of that male privilege way from him :(

Fucking queens, how about what she has to say?

by Anonymousreply 6February 17, 2020 5:37 PM

“Nobody mentions that Joe Biden turned Delaware into a cesspool of usury”

by Anonymousreply 7February 17, 2020 5:40 PM

She’s spot on about Pete. He completely lacks empathy. He is essentially a robot. Coupled with his ignoring questions about the military and war, it makes him a dangerous choice for the presidency.

by Anonymousreply 8February 17, 2020 5:41 PM

Love. Her.

She doesn't hold back, and why should she? She's like a human honey badger who doesn't give a shit.

by Anonymousreply 9February 17, 2020 5:42 PM

All of that tobacco has fried her brain.

by Anonymousreply 10February 17, 2020 5:44 PM

Sort of agree with her

by Anonymousreply 11February 17, 2020 5:45 PM

Of course Pete doesn't have empathy, he's an aspie

by Anonymousreply 12February 17, 2020 5:46 PM

When did she become Linda Hunt?

by Anonymousreply 13February 17, 2020 5:48 PM

Totally agree with her. As do most people I know in NY. Warren is the clear favorite. But we are totally out of sync with the rest of the country - as usual. So I’ll take any Dem.

by Anonymousreply 14February 17, 2020 5:49 PM

I'm not getting at all these people who think Pete is so awful, but accept that it's their take on him. I really get the feeling that a lot of the hatred of him is rooted in jealousy.

by Anonymousreply 15February 17, 2020 5:54 PM

IMO Warren is the only one who talks strategy. The rest just read scripts of what people want to hear.

by Anonymousreply 16February 17, 2020 5:56 PM

Warren's problem is that she's being too nice. Her only chance now is to look directly at the camera, and say to the viewing audience, "You're being screwed, and my number one priority above policy proposals is to put an end to that!"

by Anonymousreply 17February 17, 2020 6:00 PM

Warren wasn’t even viable in NH which is a state tailor made for her. She’s finished.

by Anonymousreply 18February 17, 2020 6:02 PM

She’s absolutely entitled to her considered and witty opinions.

But the media has been indulging in a feeding frenzy of criticism of every Democrat. All coverage is negative. Who’s even criticizing Trump anymore?

by Anonymousreply 19February 17, 2020 6:05 PM

The absence of Washington experience is relevant. Seen with Trump. And even Bill Clinton and George Bush. Clinton hit a wall of resistance that prevented any of his original initiatives getting passed in large part because he didn’t know how to operate in Washington or its key players. And Bush Jr needed up relying too much on the Washington insiders like Cheney and Rumsfeld.

I’m fine with Pete. But this idea that anybody can be President without any relevant experience needs to die. Experience and knowledge does matter.

by Anonymousreply 20February 17, 2020 6:09 PM

That is still one ugly woman. Ouch.

by Anonymousreply 21February 17, 2020 6:15 PM

Her comments on the art community in the early 70's is true, it was very small, at least from conversations I've had with people who were there in the 50s to 70s, everyone seemed to know each other.

by Anonymousreply 22February 17, 2020 6:18 PM

Did I miss the meeting where all Lesbians decided to hate Pete?

Whadda twat,

by Anonymousreply 23February 17, 2020 6:21 PM

I love her!

by Anonymousreply 24February 17, 2020 6:25 PM

I don't like Pete -- and I'm a lesbian.

What's it to ya?

by Anonymousreply 25February 17, 2020 6:26 PM

r25, isn't that what I was saying?

Also, when are you transitioning?

by Anonymousreply 26February 17, 2020 6:27 PM

Fran looks like hell now,but theres no denying she was a "handsome" woman in her day . I adore her ,shes just so damn intelligent . I agree with everything she said . I know I should be excited about Pete , but Im just not . In my wildest dreams Id never thought Id see a gay presidential candidate ,so why arent I excited about him ?

by Anonymousreply 27February 17, 2020 6:39 PM

I usually like Fran, but here she is wrong. Warren may be book smart but she has zero street smarts. You don't say some 8 year old transgender kid is going to help pick your cabinet and advisors. Not even as hyperbole or as a joke. It just sounds too unhinged.

by Anonymousreply 28February 17, 2020 6:52 PM

Fran should run for president and be our protest candidate

by Anonymousreply 29February 17, 2020 6:54 PM

Oh, look, a lesbian supporting a straight woman over a gay man.

What a shocker.

by Anonymousreply 30February 17, 2020 6:56 PM

I thought it was Howard Stern

And she is just a DLEG with a vagina, much more gay than lesbian in her sensibilities.

by Anonymousreply 31February 17, 2020 6:56 PM

I agree with Fran.

by Anonymousreply 32February 17, 2020 6:57 PM

As I'm sure do most of your peers R32

by Anonymousreply 33February 17, 2020 6:58 PM

R32 is a lesbian.

by Anonymousreply 34February 17, 2020 6:58 PM

Pete wouldn’t want that miserable job anyway, Fran. Thanks for the insight. though. Will you be helping President Warren read aloud the names of murdered trans women from the White House Rose Garden every month?

by Anonymousreply 35February 17, 2020 7:01 PM

R34 is Chasten Buttigeig.

by Anonymousreply 36February 17, 2020 7:02 PM

Jane Lynch is a lesbian who loves Pete. A dumb Lesbian maybe but a lesbian I can get behind nonetheless.

by Anonymousreply 37February 17, 2020 7:07 PM

I like Jane. She is a good gal.

by Anonymousreply 38February 17, 2020 7:14 PM

I saw Martin Scorsese interview her onstage at BAM, and she was interesting and engaging.

I appreciate her self awareness and agree with some of her ideas about technology and human inattentiveness.

She’s been so fortunate to have succeeded in life on her own terms. Being slothful and lazy sounds appealing, but I’d be so anxious about my freedom. She must have earned money somehow and possibly inherited some. She seems like our generation’s Dorothy Parker.

One thing, she seems smart enough to understand the lottery better than she seems to. It’s odd to see someone so seemingly erudite indulging in pretty lowbrow habits, buying cigarettes and lottery tickets. That’s kind of gross.

by Anonymousreply 40February 17, 2020 7:36 PM

by Anonymousreply 41February 17, 2020 7:36 PM

R40, I don't think her smoking or buying lottery tickets has much to do with the intelligence with which she speaks.

by Anonymousreply 42February 17, 2020 7:39 PM

She’s entitled to her opinion but old New Yorkers are the worst. Super opinionated and never leave Manhattan. They are completely out of touch.

by Anonymousreply 43February 17, 2020 7:42 PM

Why should they leave Manhattan, and how is she out of touch, R43?

by Anonymousreply 44February 17, 2020 7:47 PM

Why are we listening to the opinions of a photographer?

“I was so wrong about this election [2016].”

“If they called me and said, ‘Fran—we’re going to let you choose the Democratic candidate,’ I would choose Elizabeth Warren.”

Fran Liebowitz is also wrong about Election 2020. (Not surprising.)

by Anonymousreply 48February 17, 2020 8:19 PM

R48, she stated it as hypothetical: "If they called me and said..." She was offering her opinion of her favorite candidate, not necessarily who she thinks will win.

by Anonymousreply 49February 17, 2020 8:22 PM

Fran doesn't actually care if Warren loses though.

She's still got her tax cut and doesn't experience hate crime like gay men do. She'd rather lose with Warren than an electable candidate. As was through in 2016.

by Anonymousreply 50February 17, 2020 8:22 PM

As was TRUE

by Anonymousreply 51February 17, 2020 8:22 PM

R50, there was no reason in 2016 to think Clinton wasn't electable. Nor do I think Lebowitz is motivated in her political choices by a tax cut. She didn't want Trump in to begin with. If she cared about a tax cut, she wouldn't have voted against him, would she?

Logic can be hard.

by Anonymousreply 52February 17, 2020 8:25 PM

I'm bored with rediscussing 2016 but there basically exists a certain type of woman who would rather lose with a woman than win with a man. They're often lesbians, like Fran.

There only exists a certain type of rich person who prefers Dems (so long as they're rich-friendly) but isn't scared when Republicans win, like Fran.

Anyway we need a brave, electable progressive for 2020: Pete Buttigieg

by Anonymousreply 53February 17, 2020 8:33 PM

That's a lot of projecting, R53.

by Anonymousreply 54February 17, 2020 8:35 PM

Yet it's all true.

Make no mistake: there are plenty of women on this site who would rather nominate Amy or Warren -- even if they *knew* they'd lose -- than nominate Pete.

by Anonymousreply 55February 17, 2020 8:40 PM

It's not true, it's your projection, R55. Clearly you have a bias for Buttigieg.

by Anonymousreply 56February 17, 2020 9:00 PM

[quote]there was no reason in 2016 to think Clinton wasn't electable.

Oh my sides!

by Anonymousreply 57February 17, 2020 9:31 PM

Stop fucking around, R57. She won the popular vote. That certainly proves she was "electable." The electoral college did her in, and Russia hacking.

by Anonymousreply 58February 17, 2020 9:38 PM

You know who isn't electable? Bernie Sanders. Not only once but twice.

by Anonymousreply 59February 17, 2020 9:43 PM

Oh my sides X2 R58

Beating a washed up reality TV show host with no political experience by ONLY three millions votes out of 130 million votes cast-- WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY MANAGING TO LOSE THE ELECTORAL VOTE -- is a massive embarrassment.

Rightly or wrongly, people HATE her with the heat of ten thousand suns and she should not have been a candidate.

by Anonymousreply 60February 17, 2020 10:03 PM

So, R60, how much do YOU hate her? Isn't that what we're talking about here?

So, you're a Bernie supporter?

by Anonymousreply 61February 17, 2020 10:05 PM

Not at all R61

Pete or Amy, maybe even Bloomberg.

But it's a joke to hold up such a narrow margin of victory over a ridiculous candidate like Trump as a positive.

That's like Usain Bolt beating a a guy on crutches in the 100M dash by 2 seconds and bragging about it.

by Anonymousreply 62February 17, 2020 10:08 PM

^^I think Hillary is a very smart and competent woman who Peter Principled out as Secretary of State. Liz Warren has the same issues--there are many people who are very talented and smart and competent who are not suited to running the show, whether that's CEO or President.

Amy Klobuchar would be a good CEO and a good president. She's got the personality for it.

Hillary did not and she made many otherwise rational people's skin crawl

by Anonymousreply 63February 17, 2020 10:11 PM

r1 = homophobic tranny

by Anonymousreply 64February 17, 2020 10:13 PM

The point is she did win the popular vote, R62. That's hardly unelectable because you say it wasn't by a large enough margin.

But excuse me while I hold my sides in laughter! You talk about unelectable candidates then mention Pete or Amy as electable! Just imagining them against Trump is just...well, MY SIDES!!!

by Anonymousreply 65February 17, 2020 10:14 PM

r13, I thought they were the same person for the longest time. It was only after Linda Hunt, who must've been sitting on a stack of phone books, was driving behind me one day and caught my eye in the rearview that I bothered to look her up and figured out she was not also Fran.

by Anonymousreply 66February 17, 2020 10:15 PM

Oh this delusional idiot and the other media types who are detached from reality. Elizabeth Warren isn't happening, ever.

by Anonymousreply 72February 17, 2020 10:30 PM

Again, simpleton R72, she was saying if she could choose the candidate; she's not saying that candidate who would win. Is English not your first language?

by Anonymousreply 73February 17, 2020 10:32 PM

The self pity of R55 is so perfect for the Datalounge!

by Anonymousreply 74February 17, 2020 10:33 PM

by Anonymousreply 75February 18, 2020 1:46 AM

[Quote]Anyway we need a brave, electable progressive for 2020: Pete Buttigieg

by Anonymousreply 77February 18, 2020 8:23 AM

And by the virtue of being gay Pete is a progressive.

by Anonymousreply 79February 18, 2020 9:40 AM

[quote]Stop fucking around, [R57]. She won the popular vote. That certainly proves she was "electable." The electoral college did her in, and Russia hacking.

Her campaign made some pretty bug mistakes as well.

by Anonymousreply 80February 18, 2020 9:45 AM

R75, she in fact has written two books, which were compiled and reprinted as The Fran Lebowitz Reader, which are considered to be humor classics compared to Dorothy Parker, and one children's book. For the past decade or two, she's been working on two new books. She contributes to Vanity Fair and other magazines, tours all over the world as a speaker, Martin Scorsese made a documentary about her, and Netflix has given her an upcoming series, produced by Scorsese.

And you, R75? Where's your relevance?

By the way, all the arguments against her on this thread are abut her looks or her age, but nothing about her observations, which are essentially, if not completely, true.

by Anonymousreply 81February 18, 2020 12:50 PM

R81 her observations are NOT sharp — they’re completely cliched and predictable , coming from “the old crank who laments the NYC of 40 years ago, and how it’s become a shopping mall, blah blah.” Yeah she’s so edgy and original.

She thinks she’s always being so contrarian and cool but really she’s just over the hill and annoying. And she thinks everyone is still interested in what she has to say.

by Anonymousreply 82February 18, 2020 8:10 PM

Maybe not everyone, R82--an idiot like you, perhaps, who puts things in quotes that aren't quotes of anything. And whether she herself thinks everyone is interested in what she has to say, it turns out many thousands all over there world pay to hear what she has to say. But I'm sure all this is lost on someone whose moniker is "Xennial." Really, you don't need to say anymore.

Because I'm certainly not interested in what you think or have to say.

by Anonymousreply 86February 19, 2020 3:20 AM

R86 sorry you get so butt hurt over a difference in opinion — you’re possibly more annoying than she is.

by Anonymousreply 87February 19, 2020 3:33 AM

Well, it's just an uninformed opinion, R87, so it's valueless. Who were you quoting, anyway?

by Anonymousreply 88February 19, 2020 3:40 AM

For a minute there I thought is Linda Hunt still alive?

by Anonymousreply 89February 19, 2020 3:42 AM

by Anonymousreply 91February 19, 2020 3:48 AM

They sure do dress better than me. Got to love that suit.

by Anonymousreply 92February 19, 2020 3:53 AM

R88 to be fair , I wrote that fast and meant to put quotes around “become like a shopping mall,” which deserves them because it has become THE cliched critique of slash lament over New York.

And look, I was born and raised here, and I’m in my early 40s, so old enough to have gotten a taste of what that was, so I “get it.” But her refrain and shtick is always the same and (in this person’s opinion) very tiresome.

Not to mention if she really thinks tone deaf Warren is the best candidate then she’s really missing the boat.

by Anonymousreply 93February 19, 2020 4:16 AM

Like a lot of cliches, it's true, R93. NYC has most certainly become suburban, and if you live in NYC, that's undeniable. So this cliche is true, as so many cliches are.

You don't like Warren? Fine. But to essentially say Lebowitz is an irrelevant relic because you don't agree with her or like you doesn't make it true.

by Anonymousreply 94February 19, 2020 4:22 AM

What a lezzie cunt, she looks like an old chimp that has been rode very hard and thrown out in the trash,

Fran Lobowitz is so out of touch with mainstream America that it’s really embarrassing for her. I doubt she’s left her block in Manhattan in the past 20 years.

by Anonymousreply 130February 19, 2020 4:59 PM

"Fran Lobowitz"

Oh, dear, R130.

" I doubt she’s left her block in Manhattan in the past 20 years."

In fact, R130, she's moved numerous times in 20 years, so in fact she HAS left her block. You're so deeply and so proudly misinformed, and yet you spout your drivel.

by Anonymousreply 131February 19, 2020 6:21 PM

R131.. maybe the previous "poster" meant she hadn't moved in her mind, not literally physically or geographically? just saying...

by the way, where HAS Fran moved to previously outside of manhattan.. just curious...

by Anonymousreply 132February 19, 2020 6:44 PM

R132 not 131 but agree with your general point. In any event, she probably moved from West 12th street to West 10th street ...

by Anonymousreply 133February 19, 2020 6:46 PM

She was so wrong about Hillary.

by Anonymousreply 134February 19, 2020 6:49 PM

Has she ever been to Indiana? I doubt it. She has no understanding of what Pete Buttigieg is “electable” to in this country.

Mainstream America is sick of New Yorkers shoving your trash down our throats. We don’t want your failed Mayors, your failed Real Estate Tycoons, tour failed Senators, or any other of your political garbage attempting to get our votes.

by Anonymousreply 135February 19, 2020 6:50 PM

But mainstream America DID elect "your failed Real Estate Tycoons." It did, it did.

by Anonymousreply 136February 19, 2020 6:53 PM

R135 = “Classic Jew hater.”

by Anonymousreply 137February 19, 2020 7:14 PM

Fran makes her money on the lecture circuit and has ben all over USA many many times. For crissakes your homos snarking on Fran and yet know nothing about her, and she's a completely open book.

by Anonymousreply 138February 19, 2020 7:17 PM

you're homos

by Anonymousreply 139February 19, 2020 7:17 PM

She moved her bedroom to a new room when she converted her 1 bedroom on 11th Street to a 2 bedroom when a neighbor sadly passed and she bought the contiguous apartment.

by Anonymousreply 140February 19, 2020 7:25 PM

Blame the candidates, R135, you idiot, not NYC.

by Anonymousreply 141February 19, 2020 7:27 PM

R130, when you live in Manhattan, YOU DON'T NEED TO LEAVE YOUR BLOCK.

by Anonymousreply 142February 19, 2020 7:50 PM

Fran regularly drives to Connecticut, sans E-Z Pass.

by Anonymousreply 143February 19, 2020 9:08 PM

[quote]Fran Lobowitz is so out of touch with mainstream America that it’s really embarrassing for her.

Out of touch with mainstream America — I knew there was a reason I liked Fran.

by Anonymousreply 144February 19, 2020 9:11 PM

[quote]Warren wasn’t even viable in NH which is a state tailor made for her. She’s finished.

New Hampshire borders Massachusetts but they're completely different states. New Hampshire is mostly conservative (unlike its neighbor Vermont) and is hardly tailor-made for Elizabeth Warren.

by Anonymousreply 145February 19, 2020 9:17 PM

Many of the New Hampshire voters are in the Boston media market.

by Anonymousreply 146February 19, 2020 9:25 PM

Many New Hampshire voters also watch Fox News.

by Anonymousreply 147February 19, 2020 9:26 PM

Exactly, R144.

by Anonymousreply 148February 19, 2020 9:37 PM

She's originally from my hometown.

by Anonymousreply 149February 19, 2020 9:38 PM

Fran and the checker cab she owns.

[quote]Out of touch with mainstream America — I knew there was a reason I liked Fran.

I’ll bet you liked Hillary too, who was equally out of touch with America’s Heartland.

by Anonymousreply 151February 19, 2020 10:41 PM

I love that movie she was in with Mel Gibson. She played in photographer. The Year of living dangerously. And Kindergarten cop with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

by Anonymousreply 152February 19, 2020 11:37 PM

[quote]I’ll bet you liked Hillary too, who was equally out of touch with America’s Heartland.

No, darling, but I don't see everything through a political binary.

We're at the point where expressing a preference for romaine over arugula is going to be analyzed through a ridiculous forced political lens, aren't we?

by Anonymousreply 153February 19, 2020 11:58 PM

Fran Lebowitz represents a New York that barely exists anymore, intellectual, fucking hilarious and uncompromising. I love the way she looks, I love the way she sounds and I always am up to listen to what she has to say.

Even if you don't agree with her, she is worth listening to. Perhaps ESPECIALLY if you don't agree with her she is worth listening to

by Anonymousreply 154February 20, 2020 1:10 AM

I leaned something knew and I'm a NYer, almost 60yo. Fran is a HS dropout Wow bravo to her!

by Anonymousreply 155February 20, 2020 1:13 AM

Does Fram have lung cancer yet? She smokes three cigarettes at a time. Her taxes should go up dramatically under a Sanders Presidency. Why should I have to pay for Medicare for this chain-smoking moron???

by Anonymousreply 156February 20, 2020 1:17 AM

I thought she finally quite smoking. Did she start up again?

by Anonymousreply 157February 20, 2020 1:20 AM

r157 There is no way she quit smoking. We'd know.

by Anonymousreply 158February 20, 2020 1:30 AM

Fran has never quit smoking. And now that she's around 70, she probably doesn't see any point in doing so.

by Anonymousreply 159February 20, 2020 1:31 AM

"I thought she finally quite smoking."

HA HA, what planet are you dialing in from?

by Anonymousreply 160February 20, 2020 1:36 AM

Piss off, R160. I distinctly remember reading a piece of hers in which she talking about having quit smoking.

I guess it didn't last.

by Anonymousreply 161February 20, 2020 1:42 AM

Take your medication and lie down, you touchy asshole know nothing R161. Fran Lebowitz stopped smoking on a flight to Australia because she had to. Went back to smoking as she stepped off the plane.

by Anonymousreply 162February 20, 2020 1:46 AM

I read a couple interviews Fran did about her trip to Australia and she was panic-stricken at the thought of having to go 14 or however many hours it was without smoking. She was afraid that by the time the plane landed, they'd be hauling her off in handcuffs.

by Anonymousreply 163February 20, 2020 1:55 AM

Who cares if she smokes. She's freaking old. Gonna die in a few years anyways. Let her lit up.

by Anonymousreply 164February 20, 2020 2:18 AM

[quote]She's freaking old. Gonna die in a few years anyways. Let her lit up.

She needs to shut her trap. I’m not sure how she’s able to constantly make such tone-deaf comments about Americans, since she has a cigarette in her mouth 24/7.

by Anonymousreply 165February 20, 2020 3:26 AM

R151--Fran isn't running for office.

R156--callingn her a morn is moronic. You can't listen to her and say she's dumb. You, on the other hand...

No, R161, she never said that ever, in an interview r anywhere else.

R164--so might you, or even sooner. I wouldn't be so fucking smug, Mary.

Does she need to "shut her trap," R165? Would that make you feel less threatened?

by Anonymousreply 166February 20, 2020 3:41 AM

*calling her a moron is moronic

by Anonymousreply 167February 20, 2020 3:42 AM

Is she really a lesbian? ...if so, I don't think she's out.

by Anonymousreply 168February 20, 2020 4:04 AM

See the personal section of her Wikipedia page. It states only:

[quote]Lebowitz is a lesbian.

It is attributed to this article which describes her as:

[quote]A chain-smoking lesbian who possesses neither computer nor cell phone nor college degree...

[quote]A chain-smoking lesbian who possesses neither computer nor cell phone nor college degree...

I’ll bet she’s a real treat at parties.

by Anonymousreply 170February 20, 2020 4:35 AM

Yeah, she is, actually, R170. But of course she only appeals to smart people.

by Anonymousreply 171February 20, 2020 4:36 AM

Why does she look like Linda Hunt?

by Anonymousreply 172February 20, 2020 4:40 AM

That's a good question since she doesn't. And what a dead joke that is.

by Anonymousreply 173February 20, 2020 4:44 AM

R171 I know right because having a cell phone or computer is just soooo plebeian. About as much so as not going to college.

I didn’t even know that shit about her until you just posted it, which just proves my point even more. And you’re telling me her shtick isn’t tired and stale?

by Anonymousreply 174February 20, 2020 7:48 AM

She seems like a professional contrarian. If tomorrow everybody stops using technological gizmos, she’ll be the first one to empty out the Manhattan Apple store.

by Anonymousreply 175February 20, 2020 10:38 AM

Warning - this will hurt your delicate feelings.

Shows how little you know about her, R175.

I don't know, R174.Why don't you ask all the thousands of people who pay to see her speak on tours if they're tired of her "shtick." So no, your point isn't proven. If owning computers and cell phones made people more interesting, then everyone would be.

by Anonymousreply 177February 20, 2020 1:11 PM

Attack Fran, defend Fran, attack Fran, defend Fran, attack Fran...

Is it two people posting in this thread??

by Anonymousreply 178February 20, 2020 11:32 PM

"Is it two people posting in this thread??"

OH DEAR!

by Anonymousreply 179February 21, 2020 12:21 AM

by Anonymousreply 181February 21, 2020 3:05 AM

The fit of that suit jacket (standing next to the car) is top notch. Did all the tailors leave Manhattan or something?

by Anonymousreply 182February 21, 2020 3:41 AM

The tailors are in London, R182. Those are bespoke suits. They do look baggy.

by Anonymousreply 183February 21, 2020 4:12 AM

[quote]Pete couldn’t handle being president of my condo board]

bwahaha, so true. Love it.

by Anonymousreply 184February 21, 2020 4:15 AM

Isn't it, R184?

by Anonymousreply 185February 21, 2020 4:18 AM

How does ANYONE think a shrill New England school m'arm with a totally self-inflicted "fauxcahontas" problem, who was a staunch Reagan Republican while all my friends were dying of AIDS is so fucking wonderful? She can NOT beat Trump in a million years!

"Character is Destiny" and I don't think Warren has ANY. She seems like a slippery opportunist to me. How are people so easily fooled?

by Anonymousreply 186February 21, 2020 4:24 AM

[quote]ow are people so easily fooled?

Look who's in the White House.

by Anonymousreply 187February 21, 2020 4:27 AM

Warren is a pathologic liar and a phony. And her shrill university professor idealism is retarded for someone her old age. I love when she blasted Bloomie as morally bankrupt but in the same breath says she'll vote for the nominee regardless. What a spineless frau. But I'll give her this, her Ruth Buzzi impersonation is spot on.

by Anonymousreply 188February 21, 2020 4:40 AM

"a shrill New England school m'arm"

Oh, dear, R186.

"who was a staunch Reagan Republican while all my friends were dying of AIDS"

Oh double, triple dear. She is a very-left-of-center Democrat who has gone on record as such and who has spoken poignantly about her close friends who died of AIDS--Peter Hujar, David Wojanorowicz, etc.

You, R186, are a true moron.

by Anonymousreply 189February 21, 2020 4:43 AM

[quote]Oh double, triple dear. She is a very-left-of-center Democrat who has gone on record as such and who has spoken poignantly about her close friends who died of AIDS--Peter Hujar, David Wojanorowicz, etc. You, [R186], are a true moron.

Oh, DEAR!

Do you not have Google at your group home? Try looking up the many and varied tales Liz has told about her conversion from staunch Tragan Republican to darling of the not-very-discerning left! She was a fucking Republican until somewhere around Bill Clinton's reelection in '96, but the story changes a lot.

None of this is a secret....unless one is truly a moron!

by Anonymousreply 190February 21, 2020 4:55 AM

staunch *Reagan Republican, I meant.

by Anonymousreply 191February 21, 2020 4:55 AM

R189, you made a mistake. R186 was referring not to Fran herself, but to Fran’s favorite candidate: Liz Warren.

by Anonymousreply 192February 21, 2020 4:57 AM

I see that.

by Anonymousreply 193February 21, 2020 5:12 AM

[quote]Those are bespoke suits. They do look baggy.

I love Fran but I do wish she would get her shirtsleeves and suits sorted out. Her sleeves are too long and her jackets don't fit. It looks as if she's wearing her father's clothes.

by Anonymousreply 194February 21, 2020 9:47 AM

R194.... maybe that's the point in regards to her clothes? who knows.

by Anonymousreply 195February 21, 2020 10:44 AM

"It looks as if she's wearing her father's clothes."

That IS the point.
