Good, maybe she will cease throwing things at her staff.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | February 10, 2020 5:05 PM |
Staple throwing aside, she does well in debates.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | February 10, 2020 5:26 PM |
I think Biden will have to drop out. And Warren is dropping by the minute.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | February 10, 2020 5:29 PM |
I'll drink to that!
by Anonymous | reply 5 | February 10, 2020 5:29 PM |
If Eliz Warren drops out, would her supporters go to Bernie or Amy? I think Amy and Pete might get some of the Biden voters.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | February 10, 2020 5:53 PM |
Yes, go, Amy.
Go far, far away.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | February 10, 2020 5:56 PM |
R6 Former Warren supporters will largely migrate to Bernie (and have already been doing so, presumably), whereas former Biden supporters will move to Pete and Amy now that Biden is sinking like a stone.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | February 10, 2020 6:05 PM |
If Biden and Warren drop out, and it just comes down to Bernie, Pete, and Amy... I think moderate people will conclude that Amy is more electable than Pete.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | February 10, 2020 6:20 PM |
Some of the women's vote with Elizabeth Warren may go to Amy.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | February 10, 2020 6:25 PM |
Voting for Amy would be like voting for Linda in HR.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | February 10, 2020 6:28 PM |
The View hosts are planning to challenge her on her shitty record on race when she goes on the show tomorrow.

Will she throw a stapler at their heads?
by Anonymous | reply 13 | February 10, 2020 6:41 PM |
Sunny made a very good point that Kamala Harris was attacked constantly for her record as a prosecutor while no one has gone after Kloubachar's record. And Sunny has specific cases which she finds troublesome and which she is going to ask Kloubachar about tomorrow.
People who have studied her record say it's not very good, so we shall find out.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | February 10, 2020 7:11 PM |
if Klobuchar is doing simple math, she must think that knocking off gay-boy Pete will collapse his support to her, giving her 33% of the vote, beating out Sanders. That doesn't even include the Biden vote that could go to her if Biden collapses.
Pete, you in trouble, boy. She's mean, she's dressed all in purple, and she's after you. She'll be like the school bully on the playground attacking the gay kid, but instead of taking your lunch money, she wants your votes.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | February 10, 2020 9:03 PM |
Here’s $100 million Amy and you can be Attorney General.

You completely forget Bloomberg. He'll be a factor soon in a major way.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | February 10, 2020 10:04 PM |
He's not on the ballot till the 4th primary? I guess that's Super Tuesday. I will vote in that.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | February 10, 2020 10:14 PM |
This is similar to the chaos that happened in 2016 in the republican primary. They are hacking the primaries to get rid of Biden and Warren, keeping the Russian asset and the unelectable gay man and staple-throwing frau.
Mark my words...

R20 you’re right. Who the fuck wants Amy???
by Anonymous | reply 22 | February 10, 2020 10:19 PM |

R21 bless you for the GIF.

Oh, but she can. She's never lost an election, and she sure as fuck isn't going to lose to a "local official" like Petey.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | February 10, 2020 10:49 PM |
Tim Kaine had also never lost an election, R27. I don't see him presiding over the Senate, though.
If Pete drops out I would throw my support to Warren before rage-shakes Amy.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | February 10, 2020 10:51 PM |
She is a shitty manager and can not keep a staff. She would make a horrible POTUS. Attrition in her cabinet would rival Jabba The Trump's. Quite frankly I believe she's power crazy and that's why people can't work for her for very long. Plus she seems like a raging bitch.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | February 10, 2020 10:55 PM |

Pretty sure you can’t caucus for the Democratic nominee and be a registered Republican.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | February 11, 2020 1:33 AM |
She had a good debate.
I don’t have the sense that she’s as smart as I would hope. She can’t tell a joke or an aside, though she keeps trying. I think both of these are an indication of intelligence. Not the TELLING of the joke; but instead, the recognition that one is appropriate, how she forms it, the contents of it, and such. I often am left scratching my head.
Also, she’s repetitive, as if she can’t think of new responses. She keeps using the word “receipts”, and saying that 59 is the new 39.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | February 11, 2020 2:16 AM |

I grew up in Minnesota, and Amy reminds me of a lot of women that I knew. They will be civil to your face when other people are around, but will be nasty and judgmental when you turn your back, or are alone with them.
If you call them on it they will say that you misunderstood, they were just trying to help. Then they'll tell you that they'll pray for you.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | February 11, 2020 3:08 AM |
R43, that is perhaps the most insightful comment I’ve read about this politician. People underestimate her at their peril.

by Anonymous | reply 45 | February 11, 2020 3:17 AM |
Thanks, R44. It's why I will, under no circumstances, vote for her in the primary. I will vote for any of them in the general, including her, or, even worse, Bernie.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | February 11, 2020 3:20 AM |

by Anonymous | reply 48 | February 11, 2020 3:30 AM |
She also complains about Pete being a newcomer and compares him to the “newcomer in the White House”.
The problem with Trump is that he is a stupid man with severe mental health problems and possibly drug addiction and dementia. It’s not that he’s a newcomer.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | February 11, 2020 3:34 AM |
That facelift was not a good one. It’s frozen her face in a sad expression and is blocking her ability to look, well, normal. Ability to look expressive, I guess.

You have just described gay men R43.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | February 11, 2020 3:44 AM |
R49, that was the moral equivalent of saying that Pete has no more morals than Trump. Trump isn’t a shitty President because he has no experience. He’s had three years of on the job training. He’s a shitty President because he’s incapable of learning anything and has no morals of any kind. How does that compare to Pete?
She thinks a Rhodes Scholar and a thing with an IQ lower than a table are exactly the same thing? The more I hear her talk, the more I think she’s stupid and judgmental.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | February 11, 2020 3:53 AM |
I prefer Elizabeth Warren over Amy Klobuchar.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | February 11, 2020 4:07 AM |
When Trump volunteered that he was a very stable genius, it indicated that he learned at some point, that he was mentally unstable and a stupid man. Very much so.

I love Amy and her common sense approach to the issues. I hope she gains traction.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | February 11, 2020 4:27 AM |
So she’s getting the bronze?
by Anonymous | reply 56 | February 11, 2020 4:41 AM |
R49, the “newcomer” argument pisses me off. She lobs it at Pete to diminish him, but by doing so, she’s also hitting Obama with it.
BO had 7 years in IL congress before 1.5 years in the US Senate before running for President (finishing three US Senate years). Arguably, being the chief executive of a city of 100K people with a $368M budget is on par with state legislative experience—especially if you favor mayors and governors who actually execute policy versus legislators who argue about and pass policy. Thus, Pete’s only missing a national rotation to make him equal to BO in experience.
That would bother me, but this fucking nation elected Trump lowering the bar to zero government experience. As a result, Pete’s experience is adequate.
Amy has to stop whining that people aren’t buying what she’s selling. She argues that Pete is diminishing the lifetime of work the Senate candidates have, but she fails to own that people hate congress (see below). So, Pete’s stating the obvious.
Overall, I wish she’d step off. With his election, Obama destroyed our norms. As a Gen Xer, I used to believe that success comes from working hard, paying your dues, and waiting your turn. Obama’s election demonstrates that exceptional talent and charisma can augment and replace experience. I used to believe that leaders should appeal to our best selves—especially after taking office. Then, Trump amassed power by pandering to and legitimizing our worst selves. So, when the lady attacks a charismatic, political lightweight, she attacks the choices of Americans over the past twelve years and a younger generation forged in the instant gratification of helicopter parents, the Internet, and smartphones.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | February 11, 2020 5:12 AM |

Guess who else was repetitive? Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Donald Trump... people who have won the Presidential election.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | February 11, 2020 7:36 AM |
Why all this hate towards Amy? You guys really want Biden or Warren? Really?
by Anonymous | reply 61 | February 11, 2020 11:17 AM |
Amy is the most electable, especially among disenfranchised Republicans.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | February 11, 2020 11:39 AM |
CNN just covered her getting off the bus at a voting station. For some reason I expected the talking head to say: Amy Klobuchar has just gotten off her campaign bus and started beating New Hampshire voters. Look at that, she's absolutely pummelling that older woman. They seem to love it and plainly, so does she.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | February 11, 2020 11:41 AM |
I might actually support her then, R63. Unapologetic no fucks to give Amy would be more fun than the current pretend to be nice Amy.

I like her, but I do tend to support underdogs.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | February 11, 2020 12:08 PM |

by Anonymous | reply 72 | February 11, 2020 3:06 PM |
Still, she's the most violent candidate to ever seek the Democratic nomination. And that's why I love her!

I suspect Hillary was more violent and had some drunken rampages.

[quote] R57: the “newcomer” argument pisses me off. She lobs it at Pete to diminish him, but by doing so, she’s also hitting Obama with it
I now understand that the government will run itself for a good period and if there are no huge disasters. The most important characteristics in a President seem to be intelligence; judgement; character; and the humility to appoint good advisors and listen to them, yet overrule them if wise.
Pete has all those things, I believe, and Trump has none.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | February 11, 2020 3:56 PM |
Oh, R57, the problems with Trump, two of them anyway, is that he’s truly stupid, and mentally unstable. It’s not that he’s new.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | February 11, 2020 3:58 PM |
[quote] With his election, Obama destroyed our norms. As a Gen Xer, I used to believe that success comes from working hard, paying your dues, and waiting your turn. Obama’s election demonstrates that exceptional talent and charisma can augment and replace experience.
In your rabid defense of Obama, remember that he said that it is time for a woman to be a president. Don't kid yourself. He is gentle but has an ego like the rest of them. Trump takes his job and then Pete succeeds Trump and does a better job than Obama ever could. Obama's legacy gets chipped away bit by bit, until he is just that black president. Think about that before you defend his honor.
by Anonymous | reply 77 | February 11, 2020 4:09 PM |
Oh, please. Obama will always be the President that saved the economy. If you credit the Fed instead, fine. Then Obama is the President who didn’t get in the way, and that is still saying something. He also got bin Ladin, which was justice, and that’s important. Then there was healthcare. He also reduced our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. These are all monumental accomplishments.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | February 11, 2020 4:19 PM |
So, R71, you're saying that Amy is an unstable rageaholic and prone to acts of physical violence? She needs anger management therapy, not the Presidency.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | February 11, 2020 4:30 PM |
I have said I have exceed expectations in New Hampshire. If I don't, I will announce that my whole staff was punched in the throat by me personally and then I'm going looking for the fucking drug addled state!

R76 Trump isn't stupid at all. People underestimating Trump was one of the reasons he won.

by Anonymous | reply 89 | February 11, 2020 6:57 PM |
Amy is rising from the middle the same way Obama did. She also speaks sense, is practical and has been very effective getting bills passed, even with Republicans in charge in the Senate. Unfortunate to say it, but she's not gay or Jewish or a socialist, which are tropes that could come up if the Buttigieg or Sanders or Bloomberg would get the nod. So what if she threw some stapler -- I think if she's aggressive, she won't be threatened or intimidated by Trump at a debate -- the way Hillary didn't know what to do when the Orange Asshole was standing in her shadow. Amy would tell the jerk off right to his face.

by Anonymous | reply 106 | February 12, 2020 12:53 AM |
which, considering that she was about 5th before, is moving in the right direction after getting acclaim for winning the last debate. Third place right now is actually very good. Let Bernie and Pete be the targets of each other and of Biden and Warren. Amy will continue to do well in debates and get more people to notice her and vote for her. So 3rd place tonight (more than double the votes for Elizabeth) is actually pretty darn good for now.

AMY IS GONNA DEPORT you fuckers who didn't support her this early on. SHE IS THE ONE

Especially now that AOC has said Bernie will most likely have to pivot his healthcare plan so that it is EXACTLY the same as what Amy has proposed. I’d rather vote for the candidate that had the correct and implementable plan the first time.

Yang (withdrawn) and Steyer (needs two state polls that aren't likely to happen) are both out for the next debate on Wednesday. All the more time for Amy to turn her fire on another candidate. More Pete-hate, or someone else like Bernie?

I found her unlikeable on Bill Maher on Friday and found Maher somewhat rude and demeaning to her. Anyone else feel similarly?
by Anonymous | reply 125 | February 16, 2020 6:09 PM |
Maher doesn't have time for plain old frau Klobuchar, that's for sure. And Klobuchar doesn't seem to know how to roll with the punches of the many personalities she must deal with to get what she wants.

I'm looking forward to seeing how thin-skinned she gets if she's attacked at a debate, which was Harris's undoing.

She’s going to seem so Presidential and likeable now that racist shitshow Bloomberg has entered the debates.

She certainly was thin skinned. We got to see multiple times last night, why she has high staff turnover. At one point she picked up her note pad, and slammed it back down, but I thought she was going to throw it at Pete.
If she can't handle questioning by calm, rational Pete, she would have a stroke on stage against Trump.

She’s not thin-skinned. She gets mad, and I like it.

Her delivery style is clunky when she's calm, she is not a nimble intellect (which isn't saying she's stupid, either) and when her internal feelings get riled she's even less effective. Trump would eat her alive. He rattled Hillary Clinton from time to time and she's cool as a cucumber all the time and had been playing the game for forty years. Amy wouldn't have a chance. Voters would judge her not ready.

For a reasonably large campaign donation r130, I am sure she will spank you.

In the after-debate interviews last night, she was still talking about the momentum she got from the previous debate. What she didn't say was that her mo was finally stopped last night by the 'mo.

^ LOL.
by Anonymous | reply 134 | February 20, 2020 1:45 PM |
She IS a clunky speaker and she can get riled. So does Nancy Pelosi. Nobody would say she’s not effective or “not ready”.
by Anonymous | reply 135 | February 20, 2020 1:59 PM |
I'd argue though Pelosi has a kind of quality that makes her likeable. She has a natural sense of humour about herself and DC that she lets loose from time to time. She doesn't take it only seriously.
Amy always seems like she's tempted to read the (smile before reading joke) instructions in her script.

Amy is currently doing a Town Hall on Fox News.

Her reaction to Joe Biden interrupting her was my favorite moment of the debate.
