I work with a 30-something Indian woman. Here family is pushing her to marry an Indian boy. We texted during last week’s episode. She said it’s 50/50 on the show: 50% real (esp the crazy moms) and 50% stereotyping. The tall thin one is a ‘mo and, yes, Miami has a large Indian population.

Nice to see TV production has fallen so far that they'll exploit mobsters, Persians, Indians, etc.

I love this show. The gay guy is really cool and I like his personality. The best friend engaged guy is obviously gay, I guess Indians don’t care if a gay guy marries and has like a friendship with a woman? The main girls dad is also obviously gay, I thought she was going to be adopted or something or have two dads, I was shocked when her dad said he was divorced ... to a woman! And then the 34 single girl reminds me of Monica Padmon from Armchair expert with dax Shepard. I watch this show every week. ! I’m gonna be shocked if the engaged guy gets outed

His fiance's mother is a real piece of work.

The show feels so copycat of Shahs of Sunset - the gay guy with his white boyfriend and his group of friends. There's the bitch who 'keeps it real', the one who isn't sure about their career, fights about downplaying friendships, overbearing mothers.

Reza should be pissed and flattered at the same time. However, I don't think the Indians are gonna act up as much as the Persians. They seem above that.

Oh - and Vishal is either a wimp or gay AF.

Hindu Indians don’t mix with caste. They’ll say that they don’t practice it, as it’s been legally abolished, but culturally they still do. If they’re high caste that’s who they expect to marry.

I worked for many years with an Indian doctor. He was the head of an ICU & I was a RN there.

He dressed like we do & acted like we do. However, his wife always dressed in the traditional garb & whenever I saw them together she always walked behind them.

It was extremely shocking to me because he seemed so "Westernized"

R71 The show was Mexican Dynasty. I loved it too. Some of the characters were very hot, too. Mexico City looked beautiful. Unfortunately that show is now dead to us.

It seems like Indians (dot / outsourced variety) are being rammed down the West's throats at the moment.

It feels like the media are really sucking up to this cultural /ethnic groups, and a lot of the portrayal is not really in line with the reality. No talk of caste, issues with dark skin, rampant racism, gender inequality.

Lots of adverts trying to get the emerging Delhi Dollar and of course, none of the adverts feature dark skinned Indians.

Let's import inequality and racism! Just what we need.

Loved this show , hope it's renewed. Loved the Mexican Dynasty as well and the Real Housewives of Melborne, but I guess that one was cancelled as well.

I wouldn't expect this type of discussion in a show on Bravo. I think it would make the show more interesting, but Bravo is just not the place to do that. If HBO or PBS took on the show, maybe. Right now I'm just happy we get to see at least a glimpse.

As someone who lives in a state with a large Indian population, they don't seem as "other" to me as they apparently do to you.

R80 Where I'm from there has been a large influx of Indians over the past 10 years. They tend to speak loudly in Punjabi, Hindi et al in public especially crowded public transport, are pushy, rude as customers and candidates, and their always visiting parents are the most unfriendly death staring people.

So yes, their 'otherness' is very pronounced and due to their rudeness.
