And I'm sure it will have a large and diverse audience.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 29, 2020 11:40 PM |
Dot or feather?
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 29, 2020 11:47 PM |
Why not both? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 29, 2020 11:51 PM |
They should have recruited from Datalounge's "Hot East Indians" thread.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 30, 2020 12:13 AM |
Of course, none of them look Indian.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 30, 2020 12:31 AM |
Is one of the episodes going to revolve around the cast learning it's illegal to publicly defecate in America?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 30, 2020 12:44 AM |
Why did the not call it the Swamis of Ocean Drive?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 30, 2020 1:04 AM |
R5 What do you think Indians look like?
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 30, 2020 1:17 AM |
They look Indian to me...
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 30, 2020 1:21 AM |
The one in the back has a nice body. Which one is the gay who will finally comes out to mum & dad?
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 30, 2020 2:10 AM |
r10 probably the fat one in front -he looks like the Reza.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 30, 2020 2:14 AM |
OK just watched and I LOVE it
I like seeing reality shows about different groups of people for a change
Brian is a jerk but HOT
I love the bitchy mothers
I can't wait to learn more about Indian culture. It's time for Indians to be seen more in entertainment and pop culture
by Anonymous | reply 12 | March 9, 2020 6:53 AM |
I like Amrit but he didn't have much in that first episode.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | March 12, 2020 11:36 PM |
It's steroid free nurse Jake or whatever his name is.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | March 12, 2020 11:46 PM |
Brian is HOT
by Anonymous | reply 16 | March 13, 2020 1:08 AM |
Anyone else watching? Just started. Need some input in Vishal. If you've watched, you'd know...
by Anonymous | reply 17 | March 27, 2020 9:23 PM |
Which one is their Kim Kardashian?
by Anonymous | reply 18 | March 27, 2020 9:27 PM |
Maybe Bali? But she actually left wealth behind in India by divorcing her ex husband. Something KK would never do. But she's the most caught up in appearances. Finding this entertaining.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | March 27, 2020 9:31 PM |
Stop making stupid people famous!
by Anonymous | reply 20 | March 27, 2020 9:33 PM |
They need to throw in a few Pakistanis to liven things up.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | March 27, 2020 10:33 PM |
R17 what about Vishal ? He's kinda ugly and a wimp
it's nice his best friend is gay though
by Anonymous | reply 22 | March 27, 2020 10:34 PM |
So this is line Shahs of Sunset, curry style?
by Anonymous | reply 23 | March 27, 2020 10:49 PM |
R22 maybe but doesn't he seem very gay? But engaged to a woman?
by Anonymous | reply 24 | March 28, 2020 1:39 AM |
R23 it's about a group of Indian families who all know each other in Miami Indian American society. It's not just about the 20s/30s cast members. The family especially the mothers are heavily involved in the storylines
R24 I could see him being possibly gay or bicurious.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | March 28, 2020 3:05 AM |
They should appear on Celebrity Family Feud against the Shahs.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | March 28, 2020 3:10 AM |
My money on the as-seen-on-TV coming out is on Vishal.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | March 30, 2020 2:11 AM |
Will it be released in Smell-O-Vision?
by Anonymous | reply 28 | March 30, 2020 2:30 AM |
Smell-O-Vision? Why?
by Anonymous | reply 29 | March 30, 2020 2:39 AM |
are they all doctors?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | March 30, 2020 2:56 AM |
anyone else think Monica's dad seems gay? His voice, his face and mannerisms.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | March 30, 2020 9:04 AM |
Yup, thought so too. But doubt he will ever come out. And to the wife it may not matter either way as long as he stays in the closet.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | March 30, 2020 12:27 PM |
Do they have to eat tons of red onion until their bodies stink? Most of them, men and women, are fugly and two of the men look so faggy.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | March 30, 2020 12:43 PM |
Gawd they’re fug. I’ve seen better looking Indians.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | March 30, 2020 2:24 PM |
I find the trolling and racism baiting in this thread a lot less attractive than the reality TV trash.
Either way, right now I appreciate that this show is a bit more grounded - at least right now - than the shahs and the housewives. I'll stick around for now.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | March 31, 2020 12:41 AM |
I really like the show and hope they get another season
Bali, Anisha, Amrit and Vishal are all the messy ones who love drama
by Anonymous | reply 36 | March 31, 2020 1:03 AM |
I work with a 30-something Indian woman. Here family is pushing her to marry an Indian boy. We texted during last week’s episode. She said it’s 50/50 on the show: 50% real (esp the crazy moms) and 50% stereotyping. The tall thin one is a ‘mo and, yes, Miami has a large Indian population.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | March 31, 2020 8:20 AM |
Nice to see TV production has fallen so far that they'll exploit mobsters, Persians, Indians, etc.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | March 31, 2020 2:14 PM |
Wow! All light skinned. Funny that.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | March 31, 2020 2:36 PM |
R39 if they mixed the social status and ethnicities/religions that would make for a wild show lol
by Anonymous | reply 40 | March 31, 2020 7:10 PM |
We need more shirtless photos
by Anonymous | reply 41 | March 31, 2020 7:13 PM |
When do they breakout in the dance number?
by Anonymous | reply 42 | March 31, 2020 7:36 PM |
I love this show. The gay guy is really cool and I like his personality. The best friend engaged guy is obviously gay, I guess Indians don’t care if a gay guy marries and has like a friendship with a woman? The main girls dad is also obviously gay, I thought she was going to be adopted or something or have two dads, I was shocked when her dad said he was divorced ... to a woman! And then the 34 single girl reminds me of Monica Padmon from Armchair expert with dax Shepard. I watch this show every week. ! I’m gonna be shocked if the engaged guy gets outed
by Anonymous | reply 43 | March 31, 2020 7:45 PM |
R43
His fiance's mother is a real piece of work.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | March 31, 2020 8:19 PM |
The show feels so copycat of Shahs of Sunset - the gay guy with his white boyfriend and his group of friends. There's the bitch who 'keeps it real', the one who isn't sure about their career, fights about downplaying friendships, overbearing mothers.
Reza should be pissed and flattered at the same time. However, I don't think the Indians are gonna act up as much as the Persians. They seem above that.
Oh - and Vishal is either a wimp or gay AF.
by Anonymous | reply 45 | March 31, 2020 8:27 PM |
Hindu Indians don’t mix with caste. They’ll say that they don’t practice it, as it’s been legally abolished, but culturally they still do. If they’re high caste that’s who they expect to marry.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | March 31, 2020 8:34 PM |
It is a copy of shahs why I like it
by Anonymous | reply 47 | March 31, 2020 8:38 PM |
it's getting decent ratings. I think it's got a shot at a season 2
by Anonymous | reply 48 | March 31, 2020 9:53 PM |
Fuck Indian men. Weak momma’s boys who do whatever their family tells them, even if they don’t want to. They put up with , compartmentalize, rationalize everything just to cope with the choices their families (and nosy relatives/friends) make and expect from them.
I’ve encountered 1 Indian guy who didn’t fall for his parents emotional blackmail (your father will have a heart attack if you don’t marry this girl/you’ll shame the family forever.)
I salute him and his conviction.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | April 1, 2020 11:14 PM |
R49, you are seeing it from a very western world perspective. I suppose from their point of view they scold us for our selfish culture where the individual counts more than family or community. Not saying I am sharing that view, not even sure I captured it accurately. But if it works for them as a society, then I have no reason to be high and mighty.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | April 1, 2020 11:50 PM |
R38 Interesting that you think Persians and Indians are in the same category as mobsters.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | April 2, 2020 6:26 AM |
I worked for many years with an Indian doctor. He was the head of an ICU & I was a RN there.
He dressed like we do & acted like we do. However, his wife always dressed in the traditional garb & whenever I saw them together she always walked behind them.
It was extremely shocking to me because he seemed so "Westernized"
by Anonymous | reply 52 | April 2, 2020 7:06 AM |
I'm fascinated by Anisha. She's so neurotic she's perfect for reality tv
all her quirks and oversensitive reactions
by Anonymous | reply 53 | April 13, 2020 6:27 AM |
I was surprised at how raunchy the show is, even for Bravo.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | April 13, 2020 6:40 AM |
so Monica is that little miss perfect and she had Brian lie for her that they weren't alone together the last night of the Key West trip.
I didn't know Indians had such a strict respect of elders and that anyone who's not the parent is labeled an auntie or uncle.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | April 13, 2020 7:05 AM |
Vishal is the gayest one on the show yet planning an engagement party with his g/f
by Anonymous | reply 56 | April 14, 2020 8:50 PM |
I can only hope for the g/f that she is a dyke. She might be.
by Anonymous | reply 57 | April 15, 2020 12:50 AM |
tonight's episode was fun
seeing Reshma and Lopa face off finally but actually kinda coming to a resolution
Monica and Anisha just not being able to communicate with each other
Brian's failed attempt at flirting with another girl
by Anonymous | reply 58 | April 20, 2020 6:39 AM |
Anisha's dad is so gay
by Anonymous | reply 59 | April 20, 2020 11:30 AM |
Brian's behavior and the way he talks remind me so much of my own nephew.
R59 - To me it's Monica's father who seems so gay. And of course Vishal.
by Anonymous | reply 60 | April 20, 2020 1:18 PM |
I was wondering if they were all the same group. Now we know at least Vishal and Richa are not (Sindhi and Punjabi)
by Anonymous | reply 61 | April 20, 2020 6:49 PM |
Was is the difference between Sinhi and Punhabi, is it religion?
by Anonymous | reply 62 | April 21, 2020 8:28 PM |
R2 Oh, honey. That' so 70s. The current definitions are:
Tech Support or Casino?
by Anonymous | reply 63 | April 22, 2020 1:11 AM |
R62 it's geography and language. Both are largely Hindu. Sindh is now part of Pakistan. Punjab is on the border
by Anonymous | reply 64 | April 22, 2020 1:36 AM |
ready for the engagement party!
by Anonymous | reply 65 | April 27, 2020 1:02 AM |
Have any of them done the "Alaalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala" thing yet?
by Anonymous | reply 66 | April 27, 2020 1:20 AM |
the fact that Bravo keeps showing commercials and replaying this on other nights means a second season is likely
by Anonymous | reply 67 | April 27, 2020 1:31 AM |
Brian is a hot piece of ass!
by Anonymous | reply 68 | April 27, 2020 1:39 AM |
I find Amrit really attractive too, he's tall and handsome. It's rare that the token gay man on a show like this is not a sexless caricature. I guess they have Vishal to fill that void!
by Anonymous | reply 69 | April 27, 2020 2:07 AM |
What was the name of the Bravo show that was about the 3 Mexican families?
I really hope it gets a second season.
by Anonymous | reply 71 | April 27, 2020 3:56 PM |
R71 it's canceled
by Anonymous | reply 72 | April 27, 2020 4:56 PM |
R71 The show was Mexican Dynasty. I loved it too. Some of the characters were very hot, too. Mexico City looked beautiful. Unfortunately that show is now dead to us.
by Anonymous | reply 73 | April 28, 2020 2:19 AM |
Amrit was the worst dancer! his gay card needs to be checked
by Anonymous | reply 74 | April 28, 2020 2:21 AM |
It seems like Indians (dot / outsourced variety) are being rammed down the West's throats at the moment.
It feels like the media are really sucking up to this cultural /ethnic groups, and a lot of the portrayal is not really in line with the reality. No talk of caste, issues with dark skin, rampant racism, gender inequality.
Lots of adverts trying to get the emerging Delhi Dollar and of course, none of the adverts feature dark skinned Indians.
Let's import inequality and racism! Just what we need.
by Anonymous | reply 75 | April 28, 2020 10:19 AM |
Loved this show , hope it's renewed. Loved the Mexican Dynasty as well and the Real Housewives of Melborne, but I guess that one was cancelled as well.
by Anonymous | reply 76 | April 28, 2020 11:39 AM |

I wouldn't expect this type of discussion in a show on Bravo. I think it would make the show more interesting, but Bravo is just not the place to do that. If HBO or PBS took on the show, maybe. Right now I'm just happy we get to see at least a glimpse.
by Anonymous | reply 78 | April 28, 2020 12:45 PM |
Enough with these reality shows. The sad part is that most Indians will now feel that they've arrived.
by Anonymous | reply 79 | April 28, 2020 12:50 PM |
[quote]Let's import inequality and racism!
It's hard to take you seriously when you begin your post with, "It seems like Indians (dot / outsourced variety) are being rammed down the West's throats at the moment."
As someone who lives in a state with a large Indian population, they don't seem as "other" to me as they apparently do to you.
by Anonymous | reply 80 | April 28, 2020 1:09 PM |
R80 Where I'm from there has been a large influx of Indians over the past 10 years. They tend to speak loudly in Punjabi, Hindi et al in public especially crowded public transport, are pushy, rude as customers and candidates, and their always visiting parents are the most unfriendly death staring people.
So yes, their 'otherness' is very pronounced and due to their rudeness.
by Anonymous | reply 81 | April 28, 2020 3:08 PM |
Vishal is gay. The engaged girlfriend is a Lesbian. It’s obvious. They are marrying because they are good friends and their culture . He will fuck guys, she will lick girls . Marriage on convenience. I think this is actually more common then we think
by Anonymous | reply 82 | April 28, 2020 6:27 PM |
the rumor is we are getting a season 2
ratings pretty much held in the high 600s to low 700s which is a bit better than "Summer House"
by Anonymous | reply 83 | April 28, 2020 6:31 PM |
Summer house sucks. I do not understand of that show. 30 and 40 year olds that act like they live at a college party
by Anonymous | reply 84 | April 28, 2020 6:38 PM |
R84 yeah I never watch it and am shocked they weren't canceled. If they can keep getting renewed then I don't see why Family Karma can't also
