An old song

Is that like the Desiderata? I'm sure I'm not spelling that correctly but it was one of those touchy feely songs...

From the pivotal Godfather II scene:
“I know it was you, Fredo. You broke my heart.”

I’m singing the song in my head now.

The first love of my life, of course. Estaban, sixth grade. We lived in a tiny white town in tiny white America. He played this song on his guitar for our tiny white school talent show. I fell for him, hard.
Whereas most of the kids were singing judy collins, here comes this kid with his guitar and a language no one else in our class understood. He was beautiful and different, to this day I remember.
Thanks, OP.

God I hate that it’s the Wyclef sample version. I’m so ashamed. #millenialshame

I agree with r8. Celia Cruz! She could even spectacularly sing that song during a REHEARSAL. Very amazing, and I miss her dearly.

Oh I am in sublime territory right now. Thanks for introducing me to Celia Cruz, DL, and OP.

R8 ... Aye is 'yes' in English. The word you want in Spanish is 'Ay'.

R24, thanks. For your efforts, I suggest you listen to another Celia Cruz favorite of mine, Tumbao. Fuck someone to that; mind blowing.

^^ I wasn't being snarky, I really love that song. I have her cd. The actual name is, La negra tiene tumbao :).

In a Spanish restuarant where they were playing the song I asked an old Spanish waitress what the song was called, she told me, I asked what it meant, she brought me the check. She had lots of elaborate visible gold dentistry which she showed off a lot by smiling a lot.

It doesn’t. Is that an acceptable answer? Not familiar
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 24, 2020 11:36 PM |
R27 That is very bad.

They sang it in the episode of [italic]Gimme A Break![/italic] where the Chief had to arrest his whole family for joining Samantha in protesting the closing of an old Spanish mission.
