SCOOP: Dem Party sources who have spoken w @BarackObama say former prez is growing increasingly anxious about @BernieSanders rise in the national polls & where the avowed socialist would take the country; he is considering a public statement addressing it more now @FoxBusiness
Barack Obama considering making public address to urge Dems not to vote for Bernie
by Anonymous | reply 56 | January 24, 2020 1:15 PM |
Yes please.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | January 23, 2020 5:32 PM |
Good. He's not even a democrat.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | January 23, 2020 5:33 PM |
I doubt Obama would give such a speech. While he may feel that way personaly, i doubt he would directly name Sanders
by Anonymous | reply 3 | January 23, 2020 5:33 PM |
Good. I'd rather have Obama for 10 years more. Bernie needs to go away.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | January 23, 2020 5:34 PM |
He should have fucking done it last time but live and learn.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | January 23, 2020 5:34 PM |
Bullshit. Obama would never step in like that, nor should he.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | January 23, 2020 5:35 PM |
Why do Dems even let Bernie run for their ticket when he won't even call himself a Democrat in the Senate?
by Anonymous | reply 7 | January 23, 2020 5:35 PM |
I’ll take one for the team! Bernie is a lazy fuck and everybody hates the guy! If I had to choose between Bernie and that asshole Donald, I would have to drink a lot of wine before voting that old sack of shit Bernie.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | January 23, 2020 5:35 PM |
He should have stepped in when he knew Russians were hacking the election. But he didn't want it to look he was favoring Clinton, because she was the one affected by it. If he didn't step in then, when it was warranted, he sure as fuck isn't going to step in when it has to do with looking like he's in any way circumventing the will of the people.
People don't see this?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | January 23, 2020 5:37 PM |
We’re gonna lose
by Anonymous | reply 10 | January 23, 2020 5:40 PM |
How would he be circumventing the will of the people, R9? Each primary voter controls his/her own vote.
However, I do think that if he does this, and Biden wins, we'll hear "Obama helped steal the nomination from Bernie" forever.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | January 23, 2020 5:40 PM |
He’s not going to say don’t vote for Sanders, but he can do something to boost Biden’s profile while not outright endorsing him.
Sanders wanted Obama primaried in 2012, don’t forget.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | January 23, 2020 5:41 PM |
He won't do this. He should and so should every other sane person but I don't see Obama would be so overt when most people can see how much of a mistake Bernie would be.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | January 23, 2020 5:41 PM |
He would never do this.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | January 23, 2020 5:41 PM |
R11, trying to sway people away from one candidate is a very bad idea. And Obama isn't stupid.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | January 23, 2020 5:43 PM |
Leaked by people around Obama to try to force his hand.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | January 23, 2020 5:43 PM |
What people around Obama would think that would work, R16? Bullshit.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | January 23, 2020 5:46 PM |
It would be his worst political mistake.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | January 23, 2020 5:47 PM |
And it will never happen.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | January 23, 2020 5:47 PM |
Fox.
A trusted source of news about Barack Obama since 2015
by Anonymous | reply 20 | January 23, 2020 5:48 PM |
Someone is lying about that, op.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | January 23, 2020 5:48 PM |
The source in question lied about winning the Pulitzer Prize
by Anonymous | reply 22 | January 23, 2020 5:49 PM |
What R20 said. And the Russian bots.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | January 23, 2020 5:49 PM |
Thank you for being the first person to point that out, r20. Blocking OP.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | January 23, 2020 5:51 PM |
Anyone who even considers voting for Trump is a damn idiots.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | January 23, 2020 5:52 PM |
Op is a Dumpster. Ff!
by Anonymous | reply 26 | January 23, 2020 5:54 PM |
Everyone F&F and block OP!
by Anonymous | reply 27 | January 23, 2020 5:57 PM |
This is the same story that's been kicked around since late last year. I recall reading it on HuffPost and calling bullshit back then.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 23, 2020 5:58 PM |
To be clear and reiterate what has ;already been said: Gasparino is a Fox weasel who has lied about being a Pulitzer Prize nominee. From Wikipedia, with citations:
Gasparino has been touted as a "Pulitzer Prize nominee" in his bio from Fox Business, which said he was "nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in beat reporting" in 1992, when he was a reporter for The Wall Street Journal.[13] The same claim is made by his agents at the HarperCollins Speakers Bureau[14], and on the website of his publisher, Simon and Schuster.[15] In a promotional video in 2008 for CNBC, his former employer, Gasparino declared, "I am: a writer, son of an ironworker, son of New York, Golden Gloves prospect, a Pulitzer Prize nominee..." In 2012, Pulitzer Prize winning investigative reporter Bill Dedman of NBC News pointed out that Gasparino had been one of hundreds of entrants in the Pulitzer contest and had never been one of the nominees, which are chosen by Pulitzer juries.[16][17][18] The Pulitzer Prizes board warns entrants against claiming to be nominees: "Nominated Finalists are selected by the Nominating Juries for each category as finalists in the competition. ... We discourage someone saying he or she was 'nominated' for a Pulitzer simply because an entry was sent to us."[19] Gasparino initially responded to NBC, "I was nominated by the wsj sir." Later that day, Fox changed his bio, saying that his work "was submitted for the Pulitzer."
This is nothing more than Fox propaganda.

Fake news to piss of bern victims into voting for Trump again.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 23, 2020 6:39 PM |
I don't believe that one bit.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 23, 2020 6:43 PM |
[quote] Why do Dems even let Bernie run for their ticket when he won't even call himself a Democrat in the Senate?
Would we want him running as an independent and pulling votes away from the Dem nominee?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 23, 2020 6:43 PM |
Another nail in the coffin for Democrats in November.
Republicans won't even have to worry about having a big inauguration ceremony for Trump in January.. They can save their money to help get DJT Jr. the nomination in 2024, it's his for the taking since Democrats can't seem to find anybody to take on paper tiger Trump family.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 23, 2020 6:44 PM |
r34 Gawd help us if Bernie gets the nomination and then gets destroyed
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 23, 2020 6:46 PM |
This is Fox bullshit designed to gin up trouble between the Bernie crowd and the "establishment" Democrats.
Don't fall for it.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | January 23, 2020 6:46 PM |
R34, you're going overboard. It's bad, you're being ridiculous suggesting DJT, Jr will be the next president. Fuck off with that shit.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | January 23, 2020 6:49 PM |
"Fuck off with that shit."
Right back atcha, slick.
Democrats and their candidates seem hell bent on getting in a circular firing squad. This stupidity and Democrats insistence on ideological purity tests lead to defeat in 2016, will do so again in November, and probably again in 2024, allowing the Trump family dynasty to continue.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | January 23, 2020 6:54 PM |
The Trump "dynasty"? It must be wonderful, R38, to have such clairvoyance that you can see into 2024, but if you can't see that the Republicunts want one of their own back in the WH when it's feasible, you're misjudging your Nostradamus-like prowess. Yeah, the Democrats fuck up a lot. And going after each other is part of any election cycle on either side. I don't have a lot of faith but banging on like there's such a thing as a Trump "dynasty" really is stretching credulity to the limit. He IS the dynasty, hunty.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | January 23, 2020 6:59 PM |
Yeah, good, okay Fox.
by Anonymous | reply 40 | January 23, 2020 10:11 PM |
I think Fox would love a Trump dynasty almost as much as R34/R38 secretly wants it.

This sounds like White people drama. Obama, please don’t stick your good name into this mess. Plus, it does no good because the Hillary wing has 3 strong(-ish) candidates Biden, Warren & Pete. Two of the theee need to go before we can take that death shot to Bernie and his down ballot poison of an agenda. We have Supreme Court seats to win, now isn’t he time for socialism experiments.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | January 23, 2020 11:08 PM |
This is complete BS. Obama would NEVER do that. And this "scoop" came from that idiot Gasparino and Fox News. So the credibility of this is about zero.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | January 23, 2020 11:09 PM |
Can we stop with this dynasty crap r34. Every single Trunp clone has fallen flat in race after race. Only Trump can be Trump. Just like a black male Democrat doesn’t make one an Obama. For that matter, the Bernie dingleberries all lost against the establishments candidates in 18 or lost to the Republican. Trump is a PR wizard. Don Jr is a certified idiot without a quarter of the PR skills or “self-made” stories that make Trump like Teflon. His supper will fracture when he leaves office. If he makes it to 2024, the Trump coalition will splinter as the Party moves forward without that bull in he china shop. One way or another, Trumpism and his kids have an expedition date closer to 2024.
Don Jr, will be on Palin’s irrelevant territory in 10 years.

Are you drunk R45?
Cuz ya sound drunk.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | January 23, 2020 11:16 PM |
I am r46. But primarily, I’m stuck on the subway and had trouble proof reading on my phone. I felt like sending my message anyway.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | January 23, 2020 11:20 PM |
If true, which I doubt, Bernie can make sure the country remembers how Republican lite, Obama, kept trying and trying and trying to cut Social Security and how he made sure there was no SS cost of living for 2 years straight. That's what happens when you elect a so called Democrat like Biden or what's her name, that Amy one.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | January 23, 2020 11:23 PM |
R45 proves the old adage about opinions and assholes.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | January 23, 2020 11:37 PM |
That is only going to make him more appealing!
by Anonymous | reply 50 | January 23, 2020 11:42 PM |
Obama has already thrown shade at Sanders and his supporters several times over the last few months, so let's please stop with the "Obama would not do that" BS.
Biden was his right hand man VP for eight years. You really think that if the chips were down, he would just let Biden collapse without trying to help? And to someone who publicly called for him to be primaried back in 2012?
No, he wouldn't outright tell people not to vote for Sanders. That's never been his style. But he would make it very well clear where he feels the democratic party should be headed if he had to. And from what he's said the last few months, that's not going to be with Sanders nor his supporters.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | January 23, 2020 11:51 PM |
I'm betting Obama could support Warren though. He's the one who brought her in to run the CFPB.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for anyone from the Obama administration to endorse Biden. The top-level people are staying out of it, obviously, but even the lower-tier people have been quiet. I honestly don't think he has such a high reputation among the Obama people.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | January 23, 2020 11:57 PM |
Obama's people are probably still recovering from the bruises they received from Hillary's campaign. She had some key players from the Obama team, the only Dem to win the WH in the 21st Century, but refused to listen to their advice. She ran a disorganized lackluster campaign. She didn't even listen to Bill's warnings. Without a strong centrist, I can see why the Obama people are just staying out of this. None of the top candidates are worth putting your career on hold for a kamikaze campaign against Bernie or Trump.

Yes, that’s exactly what I think.
