VA Protest Mon 1/20 by Gun Owners re 2A

Why would a Democratic Gov in the Bible Belt of all places try to be the 1st state in the US to limit gun ownership? Doesn't he realize the optics nationwide? He's almost guaranteeing Trump's re-election.

W VA is offering to acquire counties in VA. This will not end well.

NV 25% of the population own at least 1 gun.

by Anonymousreply 155January 23, 2020 6:34 PM

There is no Bible Belt anymore.

by Anonymousreply 1January 18, 2020 11:14 PM

Oh, shut up. You have no clue what has been proposed in VA.

by Anonymousreply 2January 18, 2020 11:16 PM

The deplorables in some parts of Virginia have been shitting themselves because they won’t be able to use a rocket launcher for huntin’.

by Anonymousreply 3January 18, 2020 11:19 PM

OP you're an idiot. First of all look at a map, Virginia is not in the Bible Belt. All of the proposed legislation is common sense gun laws. The gun rights advocates are freaking out because it's all been twisted on social media and they consider any kind of gun restrictions as opening the door to taking their guns. Maybe next time, before you post, read a fucking legitimate news site.

by Anonymousreply 4January 18, 2020 11:20 PM

[quote] Doesn't he realize the optics nationwide? He's almost guaranteeing Trump's re-election.

Since the majority of voters agree with the Democratic Party's position on guns, including legislation like this, I think the "optics nationwide" are pretty good, and favor Democrats.

by Anonymousreply 5January 18, 2020 11:21 PM

R2, Know that anything anywhere near proposing, or what could be interpreted by some albeit low-information VA residents as even close to suggesting, any type of restrictions on gun or weapons ownership is going to backfire dramatically. My argument is that OR or WA state should have been the 1st state in the US to attempt such legislation.

R4, R5, How many thousands of supporters do you think will show up Mon to protest? Conservative estimates are 10,000.

by Anonymousreply 6January 18, 2020 11:25 PM

R4,Again it doesn't matter what MSM says if optics show a different version for many Americans to interpret this protest.

VA is close enough to the Bible Belt just like FL.Meaning even if the state's not in the 100% correct spot a very large number of people follow the beliefs. Democrats are lucky the Republican opponent for Governor was widely seen even by Conservatives as corrupt and ineffectual.

by Anonymousreply 7January 18, 2020 11:30 PM

I’m in SW Virginia so this is local for me. These backwoods types have been freaking out for months about the gubmint comin’ to take their gunz. Every other week another county votes to declare itself a “second amendment sanctuary.” Now there’s stories about this massive protest taking place, my little town and others are sending busloads of gun-totin’ camo wearin’ dudes to Richmond tomorrow.

There was a “militia muster” on the local news tonight in a neighboring county, bunch of bearded freaks gathered toting their M-16’s and vowing to be there in Richmond on Monday too.

Oh and the FBI arrested 3 white nationalists who were planning to be at the protest and bring all their little friends. They’re trying to turn it into another Charlottesville riot.

by Anonymousreply 8January 18, 2020 11:32 PM

R7, you are a moron.

by Anonymousreply 9January 18, 2020 11:36 PM

[quote]My argument is that OR or WA state should have been the 1st state in the US to attempt such legislation

A lot of other states already have these laws. Virginia has had notoriously lax gun laws for years.

by Anonymousreply 10January 18, 2020 11:38 PM

[quote]R5, How many thousands of supporters do you think will show up Mon to protest? Conservative estimates are 10,000.

We'll see. That still doesn't change the fact that the majority of voters agree with the Democratic Party on this issue. And it's not even close. There is literally zero reason to be concerned about this.

[quote]Democrats are lucky the Republican opponent for Governor was widely seen even by Conservatives as corrupt and ineffectual.

Not really. The blue wave in VA was pretty overwhelming, in 2017 and again in 2019.

by Anonymousreply 11January 18, 2020 11:39 PM

R8, Thank you for your honest analysis. Hoping LE maintains control of the protest.

by Anonymousreply 12January 18, 2020 11:40 PM

WAH-HA-HA! Even the cousin-fuckers in Virginia would rather blow their own heads off than secede and become part of West Virginia!

by Anonymousreply 13January 18, 2020 11:42 PM

[quote]OR or WA state should have been the 1st state in the US to attempt such legislation

I live in Virginia and I'm not anti=gun. I've read every one of the proposed gun bills and none of them are crazy. Again, a common sense approach to public safety. Nothing that should have caused this type of hysteria, except social media has inflated the problem.

by Anonymousreply 14January 18, 2020 11:43 PM

The bills the Virginia legislature are moving forward:

- A limit of one handgun purchase per month. Already in place in four other states.

- Expanded background checks to include private sales. Eighteen states have such laws.

- The ability for localities to ban guns in public spaces, including government buildings. Already in place in other locations.

- A Red Flag law, which gives law enforcement offers the ability to seize guns from people determined to be at risk of hurting themselves or others. Seventeen states already have such a law, with more considering it.

[quote]My argument is that OR or WA state should have been the 1st state in the US to attempt such legislation.

As you can see, you're *way* behind the curve. Virginia isn't even close to being the first state to pass any of these regulations.

by Anonymousreply 15January 18, 2020 11:46 PM

Sure hope there are a lot of porta potties and emergency medical personnel available.

by Anonymousreply 16January 18, 2020 11:53 PM

R15, Thank you for posting the specifics.

However my purpose in starting this thread is that the optics of over 10,000 angry Virginians showing up could be interpreted quite differently by those Americans who aren't as informed as you R15.

by Anonymousreply 17January 18, 2020 11:55 PM

R9, Hoping in this case I'm a "fear monger" for nothing. I don't see a positive result of this massive, massive protest.

by Anonymousreply 18January 18, 2020 11:57 PM

[quote]the optics of over 10,000 angry Virginians showing up could be interpreted quite differently by those Americans

Not all of them are Virginians, which is the problem. Most will be from Virginia, but it has been reported that people are being bused in from other states to take part in this rally. The three white supremacists that were caught by the FBI were from other states.

by Anonymousreply 19January 19, 2020 12:03 AM

The optics of another school shooting could be interpreted quite differently, too, r17, as could the optics of another event like Charlottesville. And since those 10,000-participant estimates appear to be inflated and, even if they weren't, the site of 10,000 rabid ammosexuals is likely to be horrible optics, your fear-mongering is, at best, premature.

by Anonymousreply 20January 19, 2020 12:07 AM

Make up your mind, OP: are you concerned about the "optics" of the protest or are you concerned about the impact of the actual laws, laws that you incorrectly insisted Virginia was the first state to pass?

You were completely wrong about "the 1st state in the US to limit gun ownership." Why should we take your handwringing about "optics" seriously, particularly when the last time a state had a massive right-wing protest, the optics were horrible … for the right-wing?

by Anonymousreply 21January 19, 2020 12:11 AM

Guns = far right. Racism and guns have been a key part of the agenda of the far right since at least Timothy McVeigh

by Anonymousreply 22January 19, 2020 1:03 AM

R22, Obviously you don't live in a state where hunting is a necessity for survival for many. Or LE is too far away and you need a gun to scare away wild animals and wild humans on drug binges.

Nor do you live in a state like NV where there are still local casinos with the banner on the front door "No Guns Allowed" as it's the norm to be packing. Yes law abiding residents are so used to carrying a gun that they forget about it when they walk in a casino.

No, I've never owned nor even held a gun. However my neighbor has a full arsenal and claims he's the top military leader for Scientology. Yes gun ownership is strictly forbidden in my huge condo complex. When I complained to LE I was told that I was a fear monger.

by Anonymousreply 23January 19, 2020 1:30 AM

My local militia is organizing for the protest.

[quote]The muster wrapped up about an hour after it began, with some attendees saying they would continue discussions about the Second Amendment at the nearby Buffalo Mountain Brewery.

I wonder how OP will describe the optics when these people kill innocent people tomorrow.

by Anonymousreply 25January 19, 2020 12:31 PM

A Virginia resident of 30 years here (displaced New Englander).

I travel across the Commonwealth for work have talked with people from all corners of Virginia; I had sales calls in 89 of the 95 counties last year. While Virginia was definitely a Bible-Belt supporting state two decades ago, the 'come-heres' in urban and suburban areas have tipped the demographics. My guess is that over 60% of current Virginia voters were not born in the state and therefore do not have the familial pull of the Old South and traditional ways. There are two Virginias now --- one is area of the I-81 corridor and south of I-64, and the smaller (but more populous counties around DC and Richmond along with the scattered college towns of Charlottesville and Blacksburg). Tomorrow's attendees will largely be from the rural, Red Trump-loving counties and they are pissed that Virginia (and America) is changing.

I think there will be 15K attendees tomorrow with several hundred from outside the Commonwealth. The Lobby Day organizers have put together a fleet of busses coming from at least 40 counties/cities across Virginia. One bus company from the Shenandoah Valley is banning "long guns" from the ride --- the other bus companies are permitting riders to carry whatever they want. The organizers are stressing that the attendees focus only on guns and have urged no talk of statues, racism, sexism, abortion, immigration, etc. There will assuredly be signage (and chants) about statues and other things that threaten conservative white Southern males. Expect to see a lot flags flying tomorrow (the yellow Gadsden Flag with the snake, the flag of the Army of Northern Virginia also called the Confederate flag, the US flag, and yes banners of various supremacist groups).

Things could easily get out-of-hand tomorrow. To me the key is how Law Enforcement will respond to the hundreds of attendees who will be openly carrying. Or will the organizers persuade attendees to leave their long guns (and their semi-automatic weapons) on the busses and in their cars. Law Enforcement and political leaders remember Charlottesville well and do not want violence in Richmond's streets.

by Anonymousreply 26January 19, 2020 1:57 PM

R25, I sure hope no one gets hurt let alone killed Monday.

by Anonymousreply 27January 19, 2020 3:08 PM

R26, Thank you for your intelligent observations.

by Anonymousreply 28January 19, 2020 3:13 PM

[quote]Nor do you live in a state like NV

Oh.... I think that tells us who the author of this thread is, although we should have guessed from the lack of critical thinking skills and the vastly overblown rhetoric.

[quote]I don't see a positive result of this massive, massive protest.

That's because you're not reading the posts on this thread, all of which have told you repeatedly that you are, in fact, a fearmonger, that's you are grossly exaggerating the size of this "massive, massive protest," that you don't have your facts right about gun laws, and that your concerns are unwarranted.

Moving on, since this poster isn't worth the time.

by Anonymousreply 29January 19, 2020 3:46 PM

R29 Well, the governor has declared a state of emergency. Is he a “fearmonger” too?

by Anonymousreply 30January 19, 2020 6:23 PM

Those are two different "fears," r30. The governor's fear is of the ammosexuals going nuts and causing violence, a not unwarranted fear from what we've seen of former protests, along with the recent arrests.

The OP's "fear" is "Doesn't he realize the optics nationwide? He's almost guaranteeing Trump's re-election." And "optics show a different version for many Americans to interpret this protest." And "the optics of over 10,000 angry Virginians showing up could be interpreted quite differently by those Americans who aren't as informed as you." And "I don't see a positive result of this massive, massive protest."

There is little to no actual reason behind the OP's various statements on this thread and no reason to take her fear seriously.

by Anonymousreply 31January 19, 2020 6:32 PM

R31, You are correct in that I could have expressed my mixed concerns with much more clarity. In reality I see this situation in VA as the largest protest of angry citizens in a very long time. I've never heard of a governor restricting air space. Nor of hiring Israeli defense drones as a security measure.

R30, Thank you for your comment. When's the last time a governor has declared a state of emergency for a non-climate related, non-environmental disaster? Antifa and Black Lives Matter protests?

Of course I'm not at all fearful. Went out last night and had a wonderful time except that I overdid the exercise element of my evening. Fighting sore muscles once again.

by Anonymousreply 32January 19, 2020 7:57 PM

First off, I smell another attempt to distract from the impeachment. Second, none of the open-carry stunts that these Second Amendment absolutists pull inspire me with any confidence in their ability to handle firearms safely and responsibly. Third, now that gun massacres are an everyday occurrence and more and more people have been personally impacted by crimes enabled by these NRA-fueled gun laws, they are DREAMING if they think there's going to be a mass uprising to support them. I think the majority would cheer on the governor taking their fucking guns.

by Anonymousreply 33January 19, 2020 8:19 PM

R33 You wouldn’t believe how agitated people in SW VA are about this shit. They’re up in arms (literally, they’re forming militias) about the Dems COMING FOR THEIR GUNS.

by Anonymousreply 34January 19, 2020 8:42 PM

Multiple police officers injured in active shooter situation in Hawaii. That's one hell of a well-regulated militia you got there, Second Amendment fans.

Virginian here, I live about 15 miles outside of Richmond in the suburbs.

Republicans have literally been losing their fucking minds that Northam is going to take their guns and murder them.

It has been fun taunting them on Facebook. What a bunch of whining fucking LOSERS.

I've been mocking them by calling them "snowflake," " Sore Losermans" ...all the classics they love to dish out but can't take.

by Anonymousreply 42January 19, 2020 11:39 PM

by Anonymousreply 43January 20, 2020 1:59 AM

This is being ginned up by the usual suspects, no doubt.

by Anonymousreply 47January 20, 2020 3:03 AM

R48, Just because the hunters you know kill animals for sport doesn't mean that there aren't many very poor Americans who kill due to necessity.

R48, Get out of your overly sheltered cocoon and visit Appalachia, rural AR, sections of AK, small towns across the US. Meet men who chop wood all summer so their elders don't freeze to death during the winter when they migrate to warmer climates for day labor gigs. Believe me they hunt too hoping to fill up the pantry.

Are you even aware of those who eat raccoon, squirrel, possum when deer aren't available?

BF's co-worker and ex-military said where he grew up food aid meant a sack of flour and a tub of lard. Sure his grandma grew vegetables. However he learned to hunt as soon as he could hold a gun. There were a lot of mouths to feed in his family, relatives, and neighbors, and his grandmother was too old to work.

So go ahead and call me very childish names. I already told you that I've never hold a gun and despise the concept of hunting for sport. Survival is a whole different issue.

by Anonymousreply 48January 20, 2020 3:09 AM

Just about all of the counties in VA are considered "gun sanctuaries." Law enforcement has vowed to oppose any new unconstitutional restrictions on guns.

Media coverage begins at 6:00 am EST.

by Anonymousreply 49January 20, 2020 8:25 AM

Let's walk through R32's statements, since she cannot get even the basic facts right here, as we've seen multiple times throughout this thread:

No, this isn't the "largest protest of angry citizens in a very long time," as there have been an extraordinary number of much larger protests over the past few years.

The Virginia governor didn't "restrict air space." The FAA did and it's because there is a credible threat of protesters using drones as weapons.

As far as I can discover, the story that the Virginia governor "hired Israeli defense drones" is false. I'm going to need a citation on that, as a Google search turned up nothing. I would not be at all surprised to hear that the authorities are using drones for surveillance, though, as that, too, has become commonplace of late, as it's a great way to cover a large area with much higher visibility than can be determined from people on the street.

Governors, mayors, the federal government routinely declare states of emergency around protests, instituting such things as bans on weapons, curfews, and the like, none of which you can do unless you declare a state of emergency. This is routine.

If you cannot get even the basic facts right, why should we take your "concerns" seriously? Let me throw one back to you: when was the last time that a sizable right-wing protest went well for the right wing? From what I can recall, these protests either a) fizzle out completely, with few people in attendance, b) employ some of the most extreme and inflammatory rhetoric imaginable, which ends up backfiring on them, or c) end up in violence, which also backfires on them.

by Anonymousreply 50January 20, 2020 1:11 PM

[quote]doesn't mean that there aren't many very poor Americans who kill due to necessity.

So what? The proposals in Virginia wouldn't do a damn thing to hurt those people, stop them from purchasing firearms, or from using them to hunt.

by Anonymousreply 51January 20, 2020 1:13 PM

I agree with this legislation, but Virginia is definitely in the Bible Belt. It’s not a debate amongst most people. I am a Virginian.

by Anonymousreply 54January 20, 2020 1:26 PM

Since the Bible Belt isn't really a well-defined concept, anyone is free to show its boundaries just about anywhere they want. The only firm agreement is that it's in the South.

Wikipedia draws its line through Virginia, with the southern half of the state in and the northern portion out.

Offsite Link
by Anonymousreply 55January 20, 2020 1:29 PM

You realize Democrats just took the legislature for the first time in a long time. Go south of Quantico or Gainesville, and Virginia Is thoroughly the South. Most of the geographic expanse of the state is in the Bible Belt. Northern Virginia is atypical of the state as a whole.

by Anonymousreply 56January 20, 2020 1:30 PM

That map depicts more than half of Virginia as the South. North of Fredericksburg means most of VA is the South

by Anonymousreply 57January 20, 2020 1:31 PM

We Virginians consider Fredericksburg as part of the South, and it’s pretty far north in the state, part of the DC Metropolitan Statistical Area.

You're the one calling people names, and defending right wing assholes who hate gays. I grew up in Pennsyltucky, I knew a ton of hunters, and NONE of them were hunting to survive. They bought their food at the grocery store like everyone else. The poorest people can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on guns.

by Anonymousreply 94January 20, 2020 4:17 PM

So, the speeches are now over and people are starting to leave. Crowd estimate is "in the thousands." r68's ridiculous claim of 130,000 is off by at least a factor of 10. Aside from the posturing and gun brandishing, it appears, so far, to have been relatively peaceful.

by Anonymousreply 95January 20, 2020 4:18 PM

Exactly

[quote]it appears, so far, to have been relatively peaceful.

Cause Northam took the proper precautions and banned weapons.

by Anonymousreply 97January 20, 2020 4:21 PM

How many of those protestors were shipped in from Kentucky and other neighboring states?

Don’t tell me about rednecks in VA since I am from VA and I know that they exist. But you can bet your ass that it’s not as serious as it sounds.

And I can guarantee you that not one of those protestors voted for Northam. No opinions have been swayed by this protest or meetup of rednecks and racists. How proud must they be to march with White Supremacists?

News reports showed quite a few buses, r98, as well as interviews with people from New York, Tennessee, etc., but I don't think anyone has a breakdown on how many protesters came from outside the state. A typical example:

[quote]Trevor O’Connor, 21, traveled with friends from Nashville, Tennessee to show solidarity. Armed with an AR-15 and 170 rounds of ammunition, he stood in front of SunTrust Bank on East Main and 10th streets.

Loved this comment:

[quote]Linked is Yahoo reports estimating the crowd at well over 100,000.

Um, Poo, why are you lying? That Huffington Post story you linked to simply said, as we've been saying all along, that there were "thousands." There was no estimate anywhere in that story of an estimate of "well over 100,000." You cannot find any credible estimate from any news source that says anything other than "thousands." You will not find anyone, other than perhaps some deluded participants, saying that there were over 100,000 people in the protest.

You keep on trying to pretend that this was some horribly massive protest and you've been wrong from your original post and continuing wrong throughout this thread. Just stop, as all you're doing is embarrassing yourself.

Right. Sure. Whatever you say. The entire East Coast and Midwest Internet is affected by live streams from Richmond, Virginia.

[quote]This will not end well.

[quote]any type of restrictions on gun or weapons ownership is going to backfire dramatically.

by Anonymousreply 112January 20, 2020 6:04 PM

R94, I've never called anyone by a derogatory, insulting or extremely childish name. Nor do I falsely accuse them of being aligned with a group of which they are definitely not a member. Stop lying, please.

YOU may know those who hunt for sport of which I am strongly opposed. I know many who hunt for survival. Also just 1 gun and a small amount of ammo if one's a good shot cannot possibly compare. Also the same Americans of which I'm speaking live too far away from the local sheriff so NEED a gun for PROTECTION from wild animals and local criminals.

R94, Obviously you've never had a stranger break into your home to harm you. Many others have.

by Anonymousreply 113January 20, 2020 6:10 PM

These people pretend to be concerned about government tyranny but they know as well as we do that’s a bunch of crap. Americans are so spooked and powerless that they need something to make them feel strong and capable, and that something is, for a lot of them, a gun.

It’s more important to their psyche than all the lives of all the people lost to gun violence. Because the sense of weakness runs that deep in them.

In other words, Obama was 100% right.

by Anonymousreply 114January 20, 2020 6:14 PM

r113, hardly anyone has had a stranger break into their home. You don't have any stats to back up the claim that this is common. I grew up in a rural area and never needed a gun. I never met anyone who ever hunted "for survival" either. You misrepesent the gun control laws in VA by pretending they are banning guns outright. Stop lying please!

You call others childish but repeat childish GOP talking points that aren't backed up by stats. You use the language of far right nuts who hate gays. Repeating right wing talking points on a gay board is derogatory!

by Anonymousreply 115January 20, 2020 6:18 PM

R115, Every woman I know across several states has had an intruder break into their home, most more than once. LE repeatedly advised me to get a gun and training for protection. I have not done so yet.

by Anonymousreply 132January 20, 2020 9:53 PM

R132, If your HOA was beyond useless and you knew an elderly Siceno nut was getting daily shipments of weapons wouldn't you ask the local LE IF they were interested in investigating? I have a good relationship with my local police dept as I've repeatedly reported "3 Card Monte" and other blatant tourist scams on the Strip.

Yes LE was very interested in someone who stores and transports hundreds of guns from his home arsenal and believes himself to be the future military leader of Scientology Forces when SHTF.

Which is it?

by Anonymousreply 139January 20, 2020 11:12 PM

R139, You are correct. I was not as clear as I should have been in my post.

Initially I was told by local LE that I was a fear monger and despite it being strictly against HOA rules essentially all Americans had a right to bear arms of their choosing. THEN I convinced LE that this wasn't a matter of a resident possessing a few weapons but an entire huge arsenal he was transporting to Scieno HQ in Hollywood. Then they became very interested and paid him a visit, insisting he lower his supply of weapons. LE also contacted HOA and demanded immediate changes .

LE became even more concerned when I advised them of the resident's advanced age and problematic mental and physical health. Also of his view of himself vis-a-vis Scientology. They've had serious issues before with Scieno nutcases and have tried to squash their growth in NV.

R138, I am not the one spying on my neighbor as he's a few buildings away. The info was revealed by another who was tired of being corralled into signing paperwork and accepting his daily gun shipments under her own name. Obviously that's not strictly legal. Yes she's been in his condo and seen the massive collection of ammo. She's a lifelong Democrat and doesn't believe anyone needs an arsenal of assault weapons.

by Anonymousreply 143January 21, 2020 2:05 AM

R141, Friend lives in Jordan, AR about 1/2 hour from the nearest Walmart.

R143, All Breitbart did all morning was interview different protesters. I turned it off after a few minutes. I chose to check it out as it was the most popular YouTube coverage after RT. All I heard was a British reporter conducting interviews. Right, on Breitbart. RT just filmed protesters with almost no commentary.

Couldn't find a MSM channel to watch instead. I linked Telemundo earlier in this thread, they had very brief aerial coverage in the beginning of the protest.

Looked like everyone just stood around for several hours. Those that weren't packing went inside the gated area. There must have been speeches but none were recorded as there wasn't any cell phone reception. Amateurs like the professionals weren't able to broadcast anything.

[quote]GF in Southern AR had constant trouble all day.

Even if that were true, it has absolutely nothing to do with anything that happened in Virginia. You have no idea what you're talking about and you're just randomly making up shit to make yourself look more important. All it reveals is that you're an utter fool.

by Anonymousreply 146January 21, 2020 1:47 PM

[quote]Why would you complain to law enforcement about someone violating HOA rules?

Because she's randomly making up bullshit to make herself feel more important. None of what she wrote in R140 is true. We've seen this from her before, time and time again: hundreds of threads of lies, beginning with her very first posts here about the shit-covered shoes at the Bellagio and about the U.S. Postal Service.

None of it is true. She's a delusional old woman with far too much time on her hands and with horrible feelings of inadequacy that she handles by making up stories that she hopes others will believe.

One of her favorite tactics, as we've seen on this thread, is being a hand-wringing concern troll, making up ridiculous scenarios so that she can set herself up as a prophet of doom. She did this last year with a ridiculous thread about the Hawaiian volcano supposedly leading to a major earthquake on the West Coast. As in this thread, she refused to accept the reality that what she was writing was both wrong and foolish, like her claim, "What's interesting about the Chinese is that they used to have methods that would predict Earthquakes."

So this post is now circulating on Facebook:

"Let my tell you a story about Ralph Northam...

Back when our son, Christian, was still alive and going to CHKD, it was unknown what was going on with him. Drs. were not sure if it was metabolic or neurological. We decided to have him checked, and made an appointment with Dr. Northam.

It was a cold, rainy morning in February, and on our way to the office visit, roads and bridges were starting to freeze over. We had to drive slow, and we were now running late because of all the accidents. Tammy called to let them know we were going to be late and the receptionist asked if we wanted to reschedule. I said "NO, we waiting 3 months for this appt. and I want answers! We will make it there!"

Two hours later, we finally made it there. Anxious to hear what Dr. Northam was going to do, it quickly became a big disappointment. My rapid heart beat nearly stopped, and my stomach sank. The room felt as cold as it did outside, when this selfish bastard just observed our son, and stated, "well, it looks like he may be showing signs of cerebral palsy.... we will just have to wait and see what happens".... As Tammy and I left the building, we looked at each other, and were like, "that's it? Wait and we will see what happens?" He didn't even bother running any tests or even schedule future appts. to follow up with us.

Several months later, as I was getting Christian ready for bed, he started twitching which I immediately knew something wasn't right and called 911 and also Tammy at her work. The EMS quickly took him to CHKD, and Christian was having multiple seizures. They put him a drug induced coma, and we stayed at the hospital for a month as they couldn't stop the seizures. We later had him transferred to MCV in Richmond, where we stayed another 1 1/2 more months. Christian's seizures never stopped and was in a coma for 2 1/2 months before he passed away...

This heartless piece of shit could have possibly saved his life if he would have taken the time to run tests and find out what was really going on with him. There are also several complaints from other parents where similar things happened with their children. Northam probably already knew he was leaving the medical field and was going to go into politics, so he simply just didn't care. By the way, Christian never had cerebral palsy.

There is so much more things that went on at CHKD while we were there that I will be releasing slowly but surely. So much neglect and careless mistakes that they made, you folks will be shocked what really happened to Christian! I WILL NOT KEEP SILENT ANY LONGER AND CHKD WILL BE EXPOSED! THEY CANT KEEP ME QUIET ANY LONGER!"
