It's always tragic when white American men die.
by Anonymous | reply 1 | December 12, 2019 9:46 PM |
This is sad but it has to be asked:
What was playing on their TikTok?

[quote]It's always tragic when white American men die.
Only if/when they're attractive, which is the case here. Tragic!
by Anonymous | reply 3 | December 12, 2019 9:48 PM |
But it's never tragic when black American men die. Right, R1?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 12, 2019 9:49 PM |
Best thing for them really. Their therapy was going nowhere.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 12, 2019 9:58 PM |
“What was playing on their TikTok?”
Forever Young

If only Colorado had active volcanos—no police, no press, no mess.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 12, 2019 10:06 PM |
It sounds like the parents perished as well. They're listed as Missing.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | December 12, 2019 10:06 PM |
Told you I was hardcore.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 12, 2019 10:17 PM |
How sad.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | December 12, 2019 10:24 PM |
I actually think it's for the better that the parents died too. The grief over losing both sons would be too much I think.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 12, 2019 10:41 PM |
Very sad.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 12, 2019 11:44 PM |
Why weren't they in school like all other teens? It might have saved their lives.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 13, 2019 12:11 AM |
R13, some schools are on winter break?
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 13, 2019 12:37 AM |
How is a 13 year old a man R1?
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 13, 2019 12:56 AM |
Once they get pubes and produce sperm, they are men.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 13, 2019 1:13 AM |
Nobody kills Americans and gets away with it. Fucking nuke that volcano into oblivion.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 13, 2019 1:15 AM |
Were either of them organ donors?
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 13, 2019 1:38 AM |
The evil New Zealanders who brought them to the volcano, assuring them they were safe, should fry.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 13, 2019 2:36 AM |
It was a hydrothermal eruption - you only get a few seconds warning of those. It's a wrong place/wrong time scenario. Tour guides died as well.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | December 13, 2019 2:51 AM |
Flaming queens.
by Anonymous | reply 22 | December 13, 2019 2:54 AM |
I heard today that the government will pay out to the victims, regardless of country of origin, etc...
However, they have no fault laws that would prevent an outrageous lawsuit.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | December 13, 2019 3:02 AM |
It's ACC, our accident compensation system. If you live or are travelling in New Zealand and have an accident, all your medical costs from any kind of specialist are covered for the duration of your treatment. I'm not sure if that takes into account the fact that foreign visitors will have ongoing treatment in their country of origin though, but you can get a payout.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | December 13, 2019 3:06 AM |
Here's some more information about the system.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | December 13, 2019 3:07 AM |
, some schools are on winter break?
Sweetie, it's Summer in Australia
by Anonymous | reply 26 | December 13, 2019 3:22 AM |
the one on the lefts pings
by Anonymous | reply 27 | December 13, 2019 3:23 AM |
r26 these were American teenagers
by Anonymous | reply 28 | December 13, 2019 3:25 AM |
R13 per the article they were originally from Chicago but moved to Sydney. The boys attended prep school in Sydney, about 30k per year each. They were rich.
Australia is on their summer break now but besides that they break their breaks up a lot more. They don't have 1 giant American summer and a few weeks here and there at winter. They do it like a year round school schedule which I personally fucking hated but some people love.
Imagine high fiving your brother yeah we're going on vacations, flying over and having a volcano explode and dying in it. This world can't be really real. It's too absurd. If you pitched a movie with this premise it would not be greenlit. Crazy
by Anonymous | reply 29 | December 13, 2019 3:30 AM |
What about the trans women of color that perished in the volcano?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | December 13, 2019 3:33 AM |
I have r1 blocked but from the responses it’s clear why.
For some people, race guilt is a 24/7/365 thing.
by Anonymous | reply 31 | December 13, 2019 4:02 AM |
R31 I think r1 was being facetious.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | December 13, 2019 4:42 AM |
Yikes... there is something deeply wrong with you if you think that r1 is serious.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | December 13, 2019 4:49 AM |
New Zealand is a beautiful place. but it is full of smug mediocre people that definitely don't practice the most stringent safety regulations. I wouldn't trust their health care either as they are a tiny isolated population. All injured parties should sue the fuck out of NZ for letting this happen. Some of these people were kids for fuck sakes. Been there several times and their national pride certainly out weighs common sense.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | December 13, 2019 4:53 AM |
It's Mother Nature, and like someone mentioned, you only get a few seconds of warning for this type of volcanic eruption. You take a chance visiting places like these and 99.9% of people do so, without incident. Not everything has to devolve into lawsuits...
by Anonymous | reply 35 | December 13, 2019 4:58 AM |
Why did they move to Australia?
by Anonymous | reply 36 | December 13, 2019 4:58 AM |
Well...at least a dingo didn't eat their baybay.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | December 13, 2019 5:05 AM |
[quote]these were American teenagers
Ah, they were cut then.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | December 13, 2019 5:12 AM |
R34 maybe they can sue the volcano. I hear the volcano owns a billion dollar corporation. It seems to me, and I may be wrong, but I am almost certain the volcano is at fault. There was some hearsay that the volcano handed out a disclaimer signed in writing so if that's true, there's no way the lawyers will make it rain.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | December 13, 2019 8:23 PM |
Tragic heartbreak -- two cute young guys perished!!! RiP
by Anonymous | reply 40 | December 13, 2019 8:34 PM |
The sky was so ashy that day.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | December 13, 2019 8:40 PM |

Why do you think it would make a good movie? Sounds sort of depressing to me.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | December 13, 2019 8:46 PM |
iPods?
by Anonymous | reply 43 | December 13, 2019 9:31 PM |
They didn't die immediately, they died in the hospital. I hope they weren't suffering. How horrible.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | December 13, 2019 9:40 PM |
I find death easier to accept if the victims are ugly.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | December 13, 2019 10:18 PM |
Meh, they were spoilt little rich boys, they had a better 16 years than most people's whole lives. Who cares.
by Anonymous | reply 47 | December 13, 2019 11:31 PM |
You type poor.
by Anonymous | reply 48 | December 14, 2019 1:30 AM |
The parents are some of the missing. Wonder if they were blown off the island in the blast or just incinerated.
