I used to take care of a lady, a longtime Republican. She never wanted her job/state to provide a retirement plan when she was working, the Democrats wanted it. Of course she took full advantage of her million dollar windfall...that she did not want. She was a hard worker her whole life and thought sick people were just being lazy. Unfortunately she became ill with a serious neverous disorder...she could not do anything for herself, I think she learned something of importance in her later years. She learned the hard way.

Some people have genuine, real problems in their lives that they've done nothing to cause. Clearly you have been very lucky in your life. You're ignorant and you have no right to judge. Perhaps one day something will happen to you that will make you think differently.

Perhaps if you stepped outside of your mom's basement more often and took a break from social media, OP, you might notice most charities were created and are run by boomers. Many more Boomers donate to keep those charities afloat. When you can no longer depend on stable employment or good wages from work or from from help from the government, you can depend on those charities to keep you (and your pet), alive.

You just described my first boss out of college OP. She had an easy upper middle class life, connections to a good job etc. Basically assumed everyone who had a health issue, money issue, any problem at all was entirely their fault for not doing something about it. When I disclosed my health status to her she said she didn't want to know and was more worried about who would pick up the slack if I had to cut back my work week to a normal 40 hours instead of the expected 50 or 60 I put in for free.

She was a Boomer of course.

Just the opposite as I’ve grown older- an old person struggling in public or an old dog try to keep up with its master- and many other situations of human suffering and difficulty.

My brother might say I'm devoid of compassion. He's a career criminal, an addict, and a generally nasty piece of shit because all he does is use and steal from people. He's been in and out of prison for most of his adult life for various things ranging from armed robbery to possession of child porn. He's hurt members of my family so many times that I cut him off for good two years ago and told him he's dead to me. He won't stop trying to contact me because he knows I've made a lot of money, and he thinks he'll manage get his hands on it somehow if he persists.

If I were to hear that he died, I'd probably just roll my eyes and chuckle.
