Robespierre

Robespierre is best known for his role during the "Reign of Terror", during which he exerted his influence to suppress the Girondins to the right, the Hébertists to the left and the Dantonists in the centre.

Sounds like a name someone would give their kid if they wanted to be beaten up so much he turns gay.

His skin was bad. Left him with anger issues.

But your premise is absurd, OP. Are you 12?

You don’t “turn” gay, Blanche, either you are gay or you’re not.

This 1791 bust by Claude-André Deseine makes him look like an adorable twink (though he would've been 32 or 33 at the time).

Never married and lived with his sister...

I'd be surprised if Robespierre ever had sex.

Full name: Maximilien François Marie Isidore de Robespierre

I get him confused with the inspiration for Bluebeard, Gilles de Rais

by Anonymousreply 14December 11, 2019 4:15 PM

Robespierre was called "The Sea-Green Incorruptible". I'm not sure why and I'm too lazy to find out.

Robespierre to pay Paul

by Anonymousreply 16December 11, 2019 4:48 PM

Isn’t that like naming your cat “Hitler”?

by Anonymousreply 17December 11, 2019 5:46 PM

I was just thinking the other day that we could really use a Robespierre in the US right about now.

by Anonymousreply 18December 11, 2019 6:26 PM

My favorite Robespierre, @ 3:30
