Somewhere, Alfred Litter is smiling.

*to me!

by Anonymousreply 1December 10, 2019 8:50 PM

Oh, wow. That's a surprise. Hadn't heard he was ill.

We've talked about him recently b/c he was a pretty nasty right winger on social media.

by Anonymousreply 2December 10, 2019 8:52 PM

Let's get it over with:

He had a great ass but he couldn't live forever.

by Anonymousreply 3December 10, 2019 8:56 PM

Was he gay? No kids and no wife?

by Anonymousreply 4December 10, 2019 8:56 PM

Kiss his grits, Flo!

by Anonymousreply 5December 10, 2019 8:57 PM

WTF?

by Anonymousreply 6December 10, 2019 8:57 PM

I wonder what he died from. "Long term illness" is too vague.

by Anonymousreply 7December 10, 2019 8:57 PM

I have just started watching Alice occasionally on one of those retrograde channels. Now it's going to be morbid.

by Anonymousreply 8December 10, 2019 9:02 PM

Has Polly Holliday commented?

by Anonymousreply 9December 10, 2019 9:07 PM

R2, seriously? If the latter is true, what is the damned problem with angry white man syndrome?

by Anonymousreply 10December 10, 2019 9:07 PM

R9, I thought Polly was pushing up daisies, but apparently, she's 82 and still breathing.

R10

by Anonymousreply 11December 10, 2019 9:09 PM

R8...Several other cast members have been dead a while...Vic Tayback (Mel), Beth Howland (Vera), Martha Raye (Carrie...Mels mother), Marvin Kaplan (Henry) and Dave Madden (Earl)

by Anonymousreply 12December 10, 2019 9:09 PM

R10 I tried to link his FB page but somehow it won't save. Just check out Phil McKeon on FB.

by Anonymousreply 13December 10, 2019 9:11 PM

Robert Walker Jr., Ron Leibman, and Rene Auberjonois were the first three. McKeon is starting the next cycle

by Anonymousreply 14December 10, 2019 9:17 PM

But I’m still here

by Anonymousreply 15December 10, 2019 9:21 PM

Poor Nancy McKeon, that's her brother.

by Anonymousreply 16December 10, 2019 9:22 PM

There goes that season 2 casting idea for [italic]Dead to Me[/italic].

by Anonymousreply 17December 10, 2019 9:23 PM

🎼 Mean toe

Why must you be mean toe?

Gee, honey why can’t you see

Wha-at you mea-ean toe. 🎶

by Anonymousreply 18December 10, 2019 9:23 PM

Step off, Cohn. It goes,

“But I’m here.”

by Anonymousreply 19December 10, 2019 9:26 PM

That's just what we need, R18: another death from [italic]Gimme A Break![/italic] on the heels of so many other recent deaths of people who were on TV in the 1970s and 1980s.

by Anonymousreply 20December 10, 2019 9:26 PM

R3, NOHE DID NOT.

by Anonymousreply 21December 10, 2019 9:26 PM

[quote]Step off, Cohn. It goes, “But I’m here.” —Shirley

In her case, it's "butt, I'm here."

by Anonymousreply 22December 10, 2019 9:26 PM

R11 Polly is retired from acting and living in NYC. She has kept a low profile since retiring, but still answers fan mail.

by Anonymousreply 23December 10, 2019 9:27 PM

TAWWWWWmy!

by Anonymousreply 24December 10, 2019 9:28 PM

Linda Lavin lost her husband and TV son this week. Should she be anxious?

by Anonymousreply 25December 10, 2019 9:30 PM

Is she still bitter they shoved all her scenes from [italic]Mrs. Doubtfire[/italic] into the "deleted scenes" section of the laserdisc, DVD and Blu-ray?

by Anonymousreply 26December 10, 2019 9:31 PM

"[R8]...Several other cast members have been dead a while...Vic Tayback (Mel), Beth Howland (Vera), Martha Raye (Carrie...Mels mother), Marvin Kaplan (Henry) and Dave Madden (Earl)"

Don't upstage Linda Lavin, because she has the power of Satan.

The show is cursed ! Years later, everyone is dying!

by Anonymousreply 28December 10, 2019 9:37 PM

[quote] Don't upstage Linda Lavin, because she has the power of Satan.

I passed on [italic]Gypsy[/italic] out of respect for Tyne Daly, and it ends up with her!

by Anonymousreply 29December 10, 2019 9:40 PM

This genuinely saddens me. People that quietly and privately just suddenly die.

by Anonymousreply 30December 10, 2019 9:48 PM

R30 Despite what was said on here, he seemed like a humble and sweet man based on his social media. He seems to have maintained good relationships with friends, family, and those he worked with. Don't know if he had a wife or partner. Can't find any info regarding his sexual orientation.

by Anonymousreply 31December 10, 2019 9:54 PM

[quote] Despite what was said on here, he seemed like a humble and sweet man based on his social media.

He's posing with Hannity. I respectfully beg to differ.

by Anonymousreply 32December 10, 2019 10:28 PM

Oh come ON!

by Anonymousreply 33December 10, 2019 11:02 PM

What has been actor will die next? Guesses?

by Anonymousreply 34December 10, 2019 11:33 PM

LMAO, r33!

by Anonymousreply 35December 11, 2019 12:27 AM

Has Nancy commented? What was the long term illness?

by Anonymousreply 36December 11, 2019 12:53 AM

Can't you read, R36? His dead toe.

by Anonymousreply 37December 11, 2019 12:56 AM

Has Susan Dey commented?

by Anonymousreply 38December 11, 2019 1:00 AM

r9, she's hoping Death does NOT take a Holliday.

by Anonymousreply 39December 11, 2019 2:26 AM

Fucking horrible headline, OP. Show Mr. McKeon a little respect.

Farewell to thee, my bucktoothed pal.

by Anonymousreply 40December 11, 2019 2:31 AM

I follow Nancy McKeon on Instagram and she just lost her Father a few months ago from Alzheimer’s so can’t imagine what she’s going through. He was her only sibling. Sad.

by Anonymousreply 41December 11, 2019 2:32 AM

Fum fum fum fum fummmmmm

by Anonymousreply 42December 11, 2019 2:33 AM

If Nancy wanted more sympathy, she shouldn't have skipped all those Facts of Life reunions.

Fuck her.

Go book that Scorsese movie that's just waiting for you, bitch!

by Anonymousreply 43December 11, 2019 2:34 AM

[quote]If Nancy wanted more sympathy, she shouldn't have skipped all those Facts of Life reunions...Fuck her.

But think of how much worse Friends would've been had she chose to play Monica

by Anonymousreply 44December 11, 2019 2:58 AM

Excuse me, R44 — *I* was first choice for Monica.

by Anonymousreply 45December 11, 2019 3:07 AM

ALICE'S TOMMY OFF THE MENU, FAT WHORES REHASH LEFTOVERS!!!

by Anonymousreply 46December 11, 2019 3:29 AM

R25, no, she didn't.

by Anonymousreply 47December 11, 2019 3:35 AM

Denny Miller, gorgeous and friendly hunk, played a football buddy of Mel's on an episode of Alice.

He and Alice go out on a date. He tells her I'm gay.

Hold on Alice. She says: "I take it you mean more than just...jolly."

Funny scene. HUGE moment for a character to admit they're gay. Alice cancels Tommy going away camping with Mel and Denny's character. But Denny says: Alice, if you had a daughter Tommy's age would you trust me with her? Of course. Then, it's the same thing. Alice lets Tommy go with Denny's character.

Nice episode, ahead of its time.

by Anonymousreply 48December 11, 2019 3:38 AM

No woman would let her teenage or adolescent daughter go camping with two unrelated straight males. Not adult males and probably not teenage or adolescent ones. And must women would think twice about letting them go camping with a male relative. We know more today, but that was the 70s.

by Anonymousreply 49December 11, 2019 10:19 AM

[quote] But think of how much worse Friends would've been had she chose to play Monica

I could never believe Courteney Cox as a former fat girl. Nancy I might have believed, but the writing on that show was so poor and the characters so unsympathetic and one-dimensional that she was better off on that Lifetime show with Jon Hamm, even if she missed the [italic]Facts[/italic] reunion to do it.

Warner Bros. cartoons are second to none when it comes to comedy, but [italic]Alice[/italic] and [italic]Night Court[/italic] were the only ones that ever made me laugh or even crack a smile.

RIP Tommy. Say hi to Mel and Vera.

by Anonymousreply 50December 11, 2019 11:44 AM

The only sitcoms I mean

by Anonymousreply 51December 11, 2019 11:45 AM

Thoughts and prayers.

by Anonymousreply 52December 11, 2019 9:36 PM
