Anything by Lizzo. Every song is the same chorus over and over again. My sister's 10-year-old twins love her. When I pointed out how ridiculously repetitive her lyrics are, she said that's exactly why she's popular with the elementary/middle school set. They can all remember her lyrics.

"Boogie Shoes" by KC and the Sunshine Band HAS to win this thread,. hands-down.

by Anonymousreply 10December 10, 2019 4:28 AM

But who knows that song R10? Was it from the 1950s? Never heard of it. Did Bette Midler sing that, because her Boogie song is above standard with the chorus and verse merged into a ball chain bridge and then back to the melody that keeps changing tempo and keys. My grandma used to play Bette Midler's great hits all the time is how I know. Anyway Boogie Shoes is not a bad song. I don't think that Midler was the first one to sing it though.

I vote for Love to Love You Baby. By the gay disco queen of ancient times, Miss Donna Sumner. Terrible song. With a decent K-hole beat.

I always thought that Helen Ready was an ugly woman who couldn't sing? Turns out she was kind of hot with a good voice. She reminds me a bit of Taylor Swift with those fancy lyrics and catchy hook R15.

Hard to believe that this song isn't even 3 & 1/2 minutes long but is still very repetitive = Shoop, Shoop, Shoop, etc. etc. etc.

Any song without a chord change in the chorus will sound repetitive. Same with rap songs.
