It not to help the charity but because without the charity no one will come watch their dreadful shows.

Who cares. I've witnessed drag queens drop all their money for charity when they desperately needed the tips, perform while sick and speak out when others were too chicken.
It's not my bag, but they have my respect.

I hate to break it to you honey, but that's true of most charity benefit shows. It's not exclusive to drag performers.

No one wants to see a drag queen perform. Only the drag queens are deluded enough to think that anyone might do (charity or no.)

OP still hasn't forgiven her father who was a promiscuous drag queen after all these years.

The charity is usually for a nebulous gay-related group (which turns out to be the drag queen drinking fund.)

I saw Bea Arthur do a charity benefit and it was awesome, so not the the bullshit that it is true for most shows.
