By Billie Eilish... it’s fucking AMAZING. It’s atmospheric beyond belief while still having a good beat. An absolute BOP and accomplishment for Billie. Wow. Amazing.
Even her haters must know this is phenomenal.

She doesn't sing, she mumbles. Nobody can understand a fucking word.

When you grow up and are looking for a job, OP, maybe Meredith Grey will hire you to find music for her show, especially those last acts.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | December 3, 2019 12:15 AM |
It's ok. I get why some like her, but in reality it's pretty lightweight. And she (like a lot of younger artists) seem to create music that is a pastiche, segments of ideas pasted together, but not fully developed songs. I think kids growing up with music filled with "samples" and laptop software to cut and paste tracks/ideas is perhaps a reason why. Lorde has this same disease, in my humble opinion. But I'm an old fart, so my ears are different from Gen Z ears.
Eilish did grow up in my old neighborhood, Highland Park, so I should cut her some homegirl slack - but she never when to public school ….. so, no.

Which one? Chicago? Dallas? New Jersey? Pittsburgh? Los Angeles?
by Anonymous | reply 4 | December 3, 2019 12:21 AM |
Next to Springfield.
by Anonymous | reply 5 | December 3, 2019 12:23 AM |
She is from LA
by Anonymous | reply 6 | December 3, 2019 12:23 AM |
HIghland Park is just northeast of downtown LA.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | December 3, 2019 12:27 AM |
OP, it's dull.

Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Lisa Loeb, Suzanne Vega and Beth Gibbons said hello!!!!
by Anonymous | reply 9 | December 3, 2019 12:33 AM |
It's catchy but she seems like someone who cuts themselves or will cut you.

Music for female college dorms.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | December 3, 2019 1:12 AM |
Gen Z - Billie Eilish
Millennials - Avril Lavigne
Gen X - Fiona Apple
Fiona Apple, however, had a few decent songs. Lavigne and Eilish are just tedious.
by Anonymous | reply 12 | December 3, 2019 2:01 AM |
Avril was never that big post album # 2. So no.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | December 3, 2019 2:01 AM |
Avrils music also was pop rock. Not what Billie is doing.
Billie is big on ambience. Avril was big on skater punks.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | December 3, 2019 2:02 AM |
r 13 Billie has only had one complete album. Wait and see.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | December 3, 2019 2:04 AM |
I have a 12 year old niece and she is the one who told me about Billie Eilish some time ago. I listen and liked it.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | December 3, 2019 2:10 AM |
I'm an eldergay who has certainly heard of Eilish, but this is the first time I've heard a song of hers. It is better than I expected. I like that it wasn't a by-the-numbers over the top pop song like most of the current pop songs I hear, but it doesn't seem fully-formed. It feels more like an attitude than a cogent song, but I suppose that is typical of electronica-influenced music. I'm shocked and heartened that something this underproduced song has such mainstream success. I probably won't ever listen to a single one of her songs ever again, but I'm not gonna hate her.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | December 3, 2019 2:13 AM |
We tried to tell you but you always had a sweet roll in your mouth.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | December 3, 2019 2:14 AM |
I don't see anything special about her or her music.
To quote Wolfgang Van Halen when asked to comment about Eilish not knowing who Van Halen is, "Music is supposed to bring us together, not divide us. Listen to what you want and don’t shame others for not knowing what you like.”
Enjoy listening to her, OP.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | December 3, 2019 2:23 AM |
It’s ALL in production. Her brother the producer is the one who deserves the credit. She is just a voice overlay. The songs he wrote and produced are great.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | December 3, 2019 2:25 AM |
OP is on crack. That track is all production (and not very interesting production) - there's nothing there.
Listen to Fiona Apple's hit single, or Suzanne Vega's hit single, or Tracy Chapman's hit single, or Alanis Morissette's hit singles (I could go on), and hear what successful pop music can be when it's done right.

Quit whispering your lyrics, you lazy nothing!
by Anonymous | reply 28 | January 8, 2020 7:35 PM |
I know I shouldn't, but I just love Billie's music. Music and art are hard to explain in terms of what moves us.
by Anonymous | reply 29 | January 8, 2020 10:14 PM |
This is a great song.

by Anonymous | reply 31 | January 27, 2020 3:05 AM |
Best album
Best record
Best song
Best new artist
Y'all may not like her, but the Grammy voters certainly seem to.
by Anonymous | reply 32 | January 27, 2020 4:23 AM |
She swept the top four categories. The only other person to have done this is Christopher Cross in 1981.
And we all know how that career turned out.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | January 27, 2020 6:00 AM |
LOL, r33. Good point.
[quote] This is a fucking BOP
I don't get this at all. The song is so dragged out and boring.
by Anonymous | reply 34 | January 27, 2020 6:09 AM |
She's doing the new Bond movie titles song. That will bring out the haters.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | January 27, 2020 6:17 AM |
I love this song. It’s a song you can sing along to but it’s calming.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | September 16, 2020 10:21 PM |
She's terrible.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | September 16, 2020 10:22 PM |
If I had 15 minutes to live, I would play this on repeat since it would make them seem like an eternity.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | September 16, 2020 10:51 PM |
I still think Lovely is her best song. But i also like My Future, I Love You and Belly Ache.

She hardly sounds like a baby-voiced girl unless its a baby who smokes cigarettes. Im a fan though. And she was wearing a face mask long before the rest of us.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | September 17, 2020 1:07 PM |
This song is fucking awful. And it sounds just like Radiohead's Everything In Its Right Place. Not even the production is original.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | September 17, 2020 1:08 PM |
I think it's beautiful and the lyrics are very touching. These haters on here probably listen to Celine Dion all day.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | September 17, 2020 1:23 PM |
Billie’s is beyond overrated.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | September 17, 2020 1:27 PM |
Is that the official video???
by Anonymous | reply 45 | September 17, 2020 1:29 PM |
R42 I can sort of see the similarities?? Kind of morbid, but both songs would be a good choice to have in the background while dying.
R45 no, it's not. The video is just of Billie driving around in a car.
by Anonymous | reply 46 | September 17, 2020 1:56 PM |
She’s not so much a singer as she is a “song stylist”...
by Anonymous | reply 47 | September 17, 2020 2:09 PM |
yeah r47 - I'll just copy and paste what I wrote on the Katy Perry thread:
"B.E. is more of a model, a vibe, her vocals are just window dressing for whichever of her fans want to feel a connection to her or project themselves onto her.
—it's fashion"
That's a lot of what's top-of-the-charts-popular right now, maybe it's a period that's here to stay, maybe not.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | September 17, 2020 2:37 PM |
^ either way it doesn't matter, we can always seek out what moves us, I always have!

I hope there's more of what Miley's doing with Midnight Sky.
by Anonymous | reply 51 | September 17, 2020 2:43 PM |
Billie’s kind of a rip-off of Feist.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | September 17, 2020 2:49 PM |
She’s great. She has pretty vocals

Speaking strictly for myself OP, I just don't like you that much.

[quote] Why didn’t you cunts...
I am quite sure that you think you are cool and edgy by calling people cunts and bitches, but all it makes me do is to never want anything to do with you ever again and block you.
by Anonymous | reply 55 | September 17, 2020 3:01 PM |
She needs to change it up going forward. Her persona and singing style won't last if she keeps doing what she's doing now.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | September 17, 2020 4:16 PM |
Billie Eilish on her Grammy wins:
“I love the Grammys so much but to be sitting in a room full of your idols and have them lowkey resent you was very upsetting for me and then having those people’s entire fandoms that I’ve been a part of for years, hate me.”
by Anonymous | reply 57 | September 17, 2020 6:29 PM |
She is underrated, but I have a high tolerance for this sort of thing.
by Anonymous | reply 58 | September 17, 2020 6:46 PM |
I didn't know she said that, R57. She's deluded.
by Anonymous | reply 59 | September 17, 2020 9:50 PM |
R59 she just has alot of feelings!
by Anonymous | reply 60 | September 18, 2020 12:36 AM |
I think Lizzo deserved those Grammy Awards more than Eilish, Lizzo being the better novelty act of the two...
by Anonymous | reply 61 | September 18, 2020 12:43 AM |
They're both definitely novelty acts. I can't see any career longevity for either. Hopefully they're saving and investing the money they're making right now.
by Anonymous | reply 62 | September 18, 2020 12:45 AM |
I believe B.E. music is the opposite of ASMR clips. ASMR is supposed to give you a pleasant tingling sensation and Billy's music is supposed to make you feel sad and depressed and reaching for the razor blades. I wouldn't be surprised if we find out in the not too distant future that there is a hidden layer of her whispering hidden in all of her songs where she whispers "kill yourself, you miserable fuck! Kill yourself!" on a loop.
by Anonymous | reply 63 | September 18, 2020 12:55 AM |
Everything I wanted is just such a good song
by Anonymous | reply 64 | September 18, 2020 2:21 AM |
I really am not a fan of her style of murmuring.
by Anonymous | reply 65 | September 18, 2020 2:26 AM |
its like Lily Allen as a young so cal chick on LOTS of benzos
by Anonymous | reply 66 | September 18, 2020 10:05 AM |
What a terrible voice she has. The style is very fashionable at the moment and is emulated by many female singers to varying degrees if success. Totally affected. Pretentious mumbling and lazy articulation.
It's so affected she's impossible to listen to.
by Anonymous | reply 67 | September 18, 2020 10:13 AM |
[quote]"And it sounds just like Radiohead's Everything In Its Right Place."
Wow. Someone's ear pods have burnt out their hearing.
Sounds nothing like Radiohead. And it's a completely coherent composition: the suggestion by another poster that she composes from 'bits' like Bowie, is tripe.

....
by Anonymous | reply 69 | October 7, 2020 8:39 AM |
Bored to death in 15 seconds. Mumbled word, annunciation sucks, the background is all synthetic and it sounds the same as past songs. No talent required in making music with an Apple Computer unlike true artists that play an instrument in a band, orchestra, or solo.
by Anonymous | reply 70 | October 7, 2020 8:50 AM |
Ugh. I absolutely love this song
