I know these are stills from different films, but they look like they could all be from the same film. Do all these Hallmark movies have the exact same creative teams shooting and designing these movies?

No Lori Loughlin?

They must have set design standards across all their films which makes the factory-like production process all the more efficient. Honestly, it's not all that different from the monotonous visual style across most of Marvel's films. Just... studio mandates most likely.

Are there any Hallmark movies about strippers or hookers or escorts? What about movies set in a convent where a priest and a nun fall in love and elope?

I wish I understood the appeal of these movies, maybe then I'd be able to have a normal conversation with my sister.

I don't understand the appeal. They're like Lifetime movies - mostly competent, but obviously made over a weekend without the luxury of many takes or time to try to make each film stand out in some way. They always end up feeling so rushed. At least Lifetime movies occasionally dip into sex and violence a bit to spice things up.

Things I'm just praying some protagonist will learn on at least one of these:
*Home is where the heart is
*You can't turn your back on true love
*Christmas is the time for miracles

I won't speak for anyone else, but I like having them on when I'm doing various Christmas activities that don't need my undivided attention: decorating the tree, making Christmas goodies, wrapping presents, cooking Christmas brunch/dinner.
I won't watch just any old Hallmark Christmas movie though. I prefer the ones that are silly fluff, with a bonus if there's something objectively bad about it. I watched one a couple of years ago that costarred an actor with the worst English accent I've ever heard, and the best part was the character didn't even need to be English.

Are you serious? They made 40 new Hallmark Christmas movies?
by Anonymous | reply 9 | November 20, 2019 3:59 AM |
I watch 10 minute snippets as I'm flipping channels. Some new things are popping up though. LOTS of interracial couples and love stories vs. the previous all black or all white casts. Gay characters in defined same-sex relationships. (Just watched 10 minutes of Dear Secret Santa tonight as I was flipping and up pops adorable Benjamin Patterson with his movie boyfriend - SCORE). Given that they are ridiculous in every other way, I see these new developments as an acknowledgment that the demographics of our country are changing on the part of the money people producing these. However, these are Lifetime Christmas moves - are they the same as Hallmark Christmas movies?

I've never actually watched a Hallmark Christmas film, but DL's mockery of them almost makes me want to watch one out of morbid curiosity.
