The Farrah Fawcett Poster (and others)
The Farrah poster was the first poster I ever had as a kid. Not sure where I ordered it from, but I do remembering ordering quite a few others as well - Susan Anton, Cheryl Tiegs, Cheryl Ladd, Suzanne Somers, etc. My dad must've known I might have been gay at the time because he wanted me to take them down saying he didn't want me "modelling after women." I then bought a Tiger Beat poster special magazine and put up pictures of Shaun Cassify, Clark Brandon, Kevin Brophy, etc. I also had a poster of KISS on the back of my door and a Star Wars poster somewhere else in my bedroom.
How many of you had the famous Farrah Fawcett poster when you were a kid? What other posters adorned your wall?
Is there any icon of your time that never had a poster that should have?

Pam Grier was another poster I wish I would have bought. There weren't too many black celebrity posters, other than the "Black Love" blacklight posters I'd see at novelty stores.

I've heard of moms telling their kids to take down the Farrah poster because of the outline of her nipple, but never this.

OP I would’ve thought having the famous Farrah nipple poster would have made your bigoted father think you were straight.

When your dad catches you trying to emulate the image rather than jerking off to it, he knows...

Farrah was not my cup of tea (and I'm being nice). I had Paul Newman and Brando, below. They were huge B&W posters. The only woman I would have liked was Marilyn, but I didn't have enough wall space.

My mom gave me this Brooke Shields anti-smoking poster which she somehow got through her job when i was in high school, and I put it up over my bed. I still think of it as "My Bearding Poster."

The Farrah poster was the #1 bestselling poster of the 1970s, but I think I remember reading that the Suzanne Somers poster at r29 was #2.

R42, that's what I initially thought. When you said "my mom about died" - I was thinking "Does he mean his mom was shocked to find out he was actually gay?"

My brother, who was gay had Farah, in fact two for some reason? I had Shaun Cassidy on the back of my door, but I think I would have lost my mind over this Dirk Benedict poster if I had known about it. I loved Dirk, Starbuck was my personal hero. I guess my Spencer Gifts didn’t carry it?

R54.. i hear you... that man was so beautiful it "hurt" to look at him.. perfect combination of "pretty boy beautiful" and "masculine handsome". add in that baritone voice and his manner and he was the definition of walking wet dream.

Yes, I admit I had posters of Nancy McKeon and Lisa whelchel in my room.
But what I really wanted was that bondage poster of David Lee Roth that was in my older sister's room.
It forever cemented my love for hairy chests.
