Yes of course you can learn. Take lessons and practice, practice, practice. I mean swim every single day. It's a great form of exercise.

More easily than thin people, because fat tissue floats, muscle sinks. So more body fat means better buoyancy.

I swim regularly at a my local public pool. People of all shapes and sizes and ages swim there. Go for it, OP. Climbing out of the pool after 30 or 40 minutes of lap swimming is one of the best feelings in the world to me. Our pool offers exercise programs tailored to all levels of expertise, and swim coaching.

Yes. It’s very good exercise. Easy on the joints and enjoyable. I always sleep better after I’ve been swimming, and good sleep is important for weight loss, too. Do it.
