Pope compares politicians who rage against gays to Hitler

Pope Francis is so weird when it comes to gays. In one breath he will say gays are fine. In the next he will say some variation of "gays don't deserve equality."

He's right because these very politicians use hatred to divide and conquer

But, yes, why "rage" when the Catholic Church simply CALMLY believes that all 3 ("sodomites", gypsy "heathens" and "apostates" / non-Catholics) are not "in the full grace of god" and therefore will never make it to "eternal heaven" (which probably means all 3 will end up in some kind of "hell" or "purgatory", as there's no other alternative). With that kind of 'calm' outlook - why worry and "rage"! Everything's 'taken care of'.

He is clearly not pro-gay but I'm glad the Catholic Church seems to be gradually moving in a more liberal direction. Now to do something about all those child rapists.

R5, so you’re saying the Catholic Church “teaches” instead that gays and people who reject Catholicism go to “eternal heaven” just like Catholics?

Lol, so what’s the point of being Catholic at all then and following the rules? If the CC “teaches” that I can follow Judaism, or can have anal sex with males and commit so-called “sodomy” all my life without any kind of “penitence” - and still merrily go to “heaven” as a “reward” in the end, just like the most devoted Catholics - then there’s actually no point in being Catholic or converting to Catholicism.

Because if the CC “teaches” that completely alternative lifestyles to Catholicism give you the same “end reward” (“salvation in heaven”) - well then everyone who’s not a criminal ends up in “heaven” ALL together anyway so what’s the point of even being Catholic :).
