What happens when the trial moves to the Senate, with Republicans controlling 52 seats?
The chances of 19 of them defecting to support impeachment is almost nil.
A straight up/down vote, purely on partisan lines in the HoR and Senate would result in impeachment and immediate exoneration.
A straight party like vote is inevitable if the only evidence they have is what has been revealed.

Trump will be impeached but I suspect he will not be convicted by the Senate; however, we really can’t know that until we get there, as more damning and heretofore unknown evidence just came out today. Perhaps there will be more new info like that.
If the evidence is strong and the Senate does not vote to remove Trump, it will stir up resentment in the general population and result in a blue tsunami in Nov 2020. The Republicans really can’t win. No matter what happens, it will damage them. Trump, of course, is losing in 2020, if he is allowed to run. Also, Trump is so emotional he may do something embarrassingly unhinged during the impeachment process that also further turns-off voters.
