Gay Wrestler Jake Atlas signs WWE Contract

One of the most prolific out gay pro wrestlers going today, Jake Atlas, appears to be ready for the big time. According to multiple reports, the purveyor of the LGB-DDT has signed a developmental contract with WWE.

Last Word On Pro Wrestling issued the initial report, with So Cal Uncensored further reporting that Atlas is scheduled to join the global wrestling juggernaut’s performance center in January 2020.

Atlas’ signing comes after a relatively short but impactful career on the U.S. independent scene. He spun his 2017 Southern California Rookie of the Year award into multiple championships and stellar performances for high profile indie promotions like Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Defy Wrestling.

That award is also closely tied to his status within the LGBTQ pro wrestling community. Atlas came out as gay shortly after winning the award, beginning his role as a LGBTQ role model and ambassador for inclusion within the industry. He wrestled matches for the LGBTQ-focused promotion A Matter Of Pride and LGBTQ-friendly RISE.

It was only a matter of time before Atlas signed with a major company with his stellar performance at Pro Wrestling Guerrilla’s Battle of Los Angeles tournament last month serving as a prime example why.

Atlas worked a match for Ring of Honor soon afterward, but reportedly turned down a contract with the company. All Elite Wrestling also discussed signing Atlas but didn’t offer him a contract before WWE came calling.

Atlas’ previous connection to WWE likely contributed to his decision to sign with the company. He was previously named a “brand ambassador” for the company after appearing on a WWE-themed episode of Undercover Boss: Celebrity Edition last year. He proclaimed his goal to be “the first openly gay WWE world champion” during the program.

Both sides appear to be staying mum on the deal for now. WWE is neck-deep in the build to its latest heavily criticized Saudi Arabia-contracted event, Crown Jewel, scheduled for Oct. 31. Atlas is yet to comment publicly regarding his reported signing, though he did recently announce an appearance for Minnesota-based F1RST Wrestling’s Wrestlepalooza event on Jan. 3.

How long till he does porn? Isn't there another former out wrestler who does porn?

Maybe he can work a program with a returning John Morrison, who just re-signed this month.

John had the most beautiful abs & butt in the company back in the late 2000s. His Heel tag-team with THE Miz was so funny, and uber gay.

Good for him.

R5 I loved DirtSheet! Whenever I needed a confidence boost or a pick-me-up back in College and I happened to have wrestling on to watch that day, I would find myself pulling it clips of it. Some of the shade Miz & Morrison were throwing in those promos was Datalounge-worthy.

And I used to have this great fantasy about having a threeway with them both. They'd look pretty hot together, I wonder if they ever fucked on the road? A lot of so-called 'straight' bro workers will still hook up with other guys on tourbuses or in hotel rooms, it's like an unspoken rule - and now that I come to mention it, I'm thinking that being an Out gay wrestler might actually limit your chances of getting dick at work. Hmmm.

So is he actually ever going to show up at Performance Center? This was announced months ago and he’s supposed to be debuting right now. I notice his name is not on any WWE roster at the time of writing. Hmmmmm...

While he dropped his Light Ultra belt to Douglas James at the last PCW (the Anniversary show) suggesting he is indeed bowing out of the circuit to work for McMahon, he’s also been taking other regular bookings (he took an L from Deppen at GCW ‘I Can’t Feel My Face’ on Saturday) like it’s business as usual.

Either WWE are saving him until after Spring/after the next PPV (Royal Rumble), or they changed their minds and didn’t follow-through with a full deal for him. Bear in mind ‘Developmental’ just means they’ll let you in the arena and training centers, and nothing more. He could just be hired in a coaching or assistant or backstage role.

R8 He finally showed up this week. WWE usually gives them several months between signing and reporting to NXT so they can finish Indy commitments and the sometimes complicated moving process.

Also among this new class is 20 year wrestling vet Mercedes Martinez, who is an out lesbian.

I wish he'd signed a contract with Sean Cody instead.

Maybe he can do fetish porn like a couple of wrestlers have.

R10/R11 both of which would have been less degrading than having to orally service Vince McMahon and/or Triple H, which is what the real deal will be since Jake is a freshman so to speak.

I hope he avoid the showers and stays away from Bill DeMott, too.

He needs to release a sex tape with former DL icon Ryan Garcia. Boxer fucks wrestler -- and vice versa.

R13 hmmm would the boxer naturally top in that scenario?🤔

What is this, some sort of lesbian dentist?
