R14, I've wondered about that, too. I never factored in her immense wealth as a balance to responsible parenting, but it is if you at least hire a nanny while you pass out. Apparently the children must have been put into danger more than once. I see this as an indication of her underlying distress and pain. What we saw was only what they let us and it was enough.

She's never been my cup of tea, and not the best singer or performer, but she certainly was pushed to make the most of what she had. Girl was never in control of her own life for one minute since she started in the entertainment industry. I think she deserves a break and a happy retirement.

She was quite photogenic, had a nice healthy body, and made some great videos back in the day.

For all his faults, Federline is a stable person who does not abuse substances/alcohol, and has proven to be discrete regarding the situation with Britney and her children. He seems very children-friendly (I think he has quite a few now) and has done a good job raising Britney's son. In photos, they seem happy and well behaved.

Even though she largely lip syncs , her mic is on occasionally and she can be heard singing (mostly whispering) a few fragments of the song here and there so she hasn't entirely given up on her career.

A little bit of trivia: "Hit Me, Baby, One More Time" was written by Max Martin, who's Swedish. In Sweden, "hit me" means "call me." That of course, was never made clear in the song, but Spears was basically saying "call me, baby, one more time."

I don't know how anyone who's listened to the song would think it's about requesting violence.

The new style didn't really compliment her skin tone, it made her look a bit washed-out despite her young age. I still found her cute, but never as drop-dead gorgeous as in the BOMT video again. They were unique in that they each had their own specialty: T-Boz was the smooth crooner with the deep voice. Left Eye was the rapper who also did backing vocals. Chilli was the singer in the most traditional sense of the word, and she sang very well. Background singer Debra Killings did provide some extra backing vocals whenever the song called for it, but Chilli and T-Boz handled the lead singing just fine.
