Yes, I KNOW we have other threads, but what knocked me out was how this film fits perfectly into today's zeitgeist, even with its gritty 70s look. Perfectly executed in every way: the art direction, music selection, the tone of the whole thing - and that incredible, astonishing performance by Joaquin Phoenix. It was breathtaking.
No matter what awards it does or does not reap, this was the best film of the decade. BY FAR.
