*BREAKING* PONCE ANNOUNCING TURKISH CEASEFIRE.

But I have him on mute because I can't stand the sound of his voice.

by Anonymousreply 42October 17, 2019 9:19 PM

This cease fire in Turkey was too easy. Seems like they worked out an agreement where Turkey needed a week to get what it wanted and the would prop up Trump with "diplomacy".

by Anonymousreply 1October 17, 2019 5:41 PM

What did Trump offer in return I wonder.

by Anonymousreply 2October 17, 2019 5:46 PM

Is he going to partake in any olive oil wresting after the meeting?

by Anonymousreply 3October 17, 2019 5:48 PM

After the meeting, r3???? Olive oil wrestling WAS the meeting.

by Anonymousreply 4October 17, 2019 5:50 PM

Yes, r1, it's definitely another smoke and mirrors gesture that won't stop anything.

by Anonymousreply 5October 17, 2019 5:53 PM

What was that just now with the reporters?

by Anonymousreply 6October 17, 2019 5:58 PM

Pompeo need a whole lot of olive oil to cover dat fat ass of his.

by Anonymousreply 7October 17, 2019 5:58 PM

I think we're going to have a cat fight in the press room. That reporter in pink got burned.

by Anonymousreply 8October 17, 2019 6:00 PM

All show. The object was to occupy that region and they have. No more need to fire on anyone. They got the letter, invaded after laughing their asses off, and now they do a 'ceasefire' to avoid any repurcussions while handing their 'friends' a political optic.

NO ONE IS FOOLED.

by Anonymousreply 9October 17, 2019 6:02 PM

Touting this deal with Turkey as a success shows you how desperate the administration is.

- Turkey gets the land they want

- Turkey gets sanctions removed

- Turkey agrees for quit killing our allies for 5 days.

by Anonymousreply 10October 17, 2019 6:03 PM

But there's a FIVE DAY cease fire, r9. Five whole days. Enough time for the Kurds to get their affairs in order and kiss their asses goodbye.

by Anonymousreply 11October 17, 2019 6:03 PM

Good

by Anonymousreply 12October 17, 2019 6:05 PM

Good

by Anonymousreply 13October 17, 2019 6:05 PM

And where are the Kurds being evacuated too?

by Anonymousreply 14October 17, 2019 6:07 PM

This is all bullshit. I don't believe Pompeo or Pence. I never believe Trump.

by Anonymousreply 15October 17, 2019 6:09 PM

There are no specifics, r14. No boundaries have been drawn and there's no neutral third party to monitor.

by Anonymousreply 16October 17, 2019 6:10 PM

Whew! Now I can go back to my normal bootlicking.

by Anonymousreply 17October 17, 2019 6:14 PM

Now Dl gays can quit pretending to care about Kurds

by Anonymousreply 18October 17, 2019 6:20 PM

There is no ceasefire. Turkey just confirmed it is a "pause." It was another Trump lie.

by Anonymousreply 19October 17, 2019 6:33 PM

Our Vice President will need a nice relaxing visit to a Turkish bath after all this hard, stressful diplomacy.

by Anonymousreply 20October 17, 2019 6:50 PM

From his juvenile letter to the Turkish president, you can tell how desperate Trump is to end the mess he created by pulling back US troops.

by Anonymousreply 21October 17, 2019 6:57 PM

[quote] Now Dl gays can quit pretending to care about Kurds

Just like Trump and La Sentrice did long ago

by Anonymousreply 22October 17, 2019 6:58 PM

Exactly, r22.

by Anonymousreply 23October 17, 2019 7:00 PM

5 days. That's it. The pussy assed bitch got played and hard. He's the sloppy bottom for madmen and dictators.

by Anonymousreply 24October 17, 2019 7:00 PM

"Ponce" more accurately refers to The Nephew.

by Anonymousreply 25October 17, 2019 7:03 PM

Russians have been moving as quickly as they can to occupy abandoned US Military bases in Syria.

Mike Ponce LOL

by Anonymousreply 27October 17, 2019 7:06 PM

It's terribly humiliating for them, understandably, r26--everything Dump touches turns to shit. He has the reverse of the magic touch.

by Anonymousreply 28October 17, 2019 7:11 PM

They may feel "humiliated" now, but most of them will still vote for him next year, anyway.

by Anonymousreply 29October 17, 2019 7:14 PM

5 days, just long enough to avoid Senate sanctions and play this out in the press as some victory.

5 days for the optic of looking like some hero by taking out key US forces and allowing ISIS operatives to escape.

5 damned days after giving virtual permission to the madman of Turkey to kill Kurds at will, throw them upon his mercy, and withdraw in disgrace. And the cowards in the GOP, the Senate and McConnell will grab that golden optic and run with it.

by Anonymousreply 30October 17, 2019 7:14 PM

The five-day pause doesn't bind the Arab militias who have been fighting along side the Turkish forces, because they are non-state actors. So even the pause isn't that real.

by Anonymousreply 31October 17, 2019 7:19 PM

More like 5 days for U.S. Military to haul ass out of the region and not be under fire from the Turks like it has been. How utterly humiliating for our triops. I dare say Trump has lost some of the hardcore military vote come 2020 if he's still around.

by Anonymousreply 32October 17, 2019 7:31 PM

Danny or LuAnne Ponce?

by Anonymousreply 33October 17, 2019 8:00 PM

lol PONCE.

by Anonymousreply 34October 17, 2019 8:01 PM

This was a way to sell U.S base and weapons to Russia. Trump got paid for this.

by Anonymousreply 35October 17, 2019 8:03 PM

We know Trump was pulling something on us but...what exactly was the con here?

by Anonymousreply 36October 17, 2019 8:10 PM

Russia is now the dominant player in the area and took over our bases, r36. They needed a reason to go into the Kurdish area. By leaving the Kurdish area, he signaled to Turkey that it was ok to invade. Turkish military in Syrian territory where Kurds must now fend for themselves justifies Syria and Russia moving in.

Someone owed Russia something. Russia's investment paid off.

by Anonymousreply 37October 17, 2019 8:21 PM

[quote]Now Dl gays can quit pretending to care about Kurds

The Kurds got completely fucked, completely sold out here. The purpose of this pause is for everyone to run like hell, both our troops and literally all of the Kurds, meaning massive refugee exodus and ISIS fighters being released.

by Anonymousreply 38October 17, 2019 8:25 PM

Yep, I figured this was what was happening. Russia is getting what they wanted out of the orange turd after they put it in office. Those MAGA fools just handed over their democracy. Congrats.

by Anonymousreply 39October 17, 2019 8:26 PM

Well, better Russian than Hillary! And if some Americans get theirselfs killed over there, at least You People ain't getting free Obamaphones!

by Anonymousreply 40October 17, 2019 8:30 PM

Poncy Ponce and Pompous Pompeo are complete stooges. It's comical anyone would believe they saved the day with their diplomacy.

by Anonymousreply 41October 17, 2019 8:43 PM

Inscribe their names next to Neville Chamberlain's . . .
