Father & Son Die Of Drug Overdose
Branford police officers walked into a bloody scene in a Florence Road condo building and found a father and his son dead. Officers initially thought that David and Jason Wells had been involved in a murder-suicide.
But the chief medical examiner’s office later ruled that 71-year-old David and 36-year-old Jason both had died in accidental overdoses.
David died from the combined effects of clonazepam, fentanyl and heroin. Jason died from the combined effects of clonazepam, cocaine, sertraline, fentanyl, oxycodone and heroin.

If you read the article the cops initially ruled it a murder-suicide because of what the scene looked like r3. They were later overruled after autopsy showed they died of a drug overdose.

Could still be a murder-suicide by way of opiates.

I'm guessing that one or both (father and son) were injecting. When you inject for a long time, you have a hard time finding a vein and it gets messy (you stab yourself with a needle over and over). That's my understanding.
