Father and adult children who lived in Dutch farmhouse cellar for NINE YEARS waiting for the 'end of times' are discovered
by Anonymous | reply 58 | October 18, 2019 10:35 PM |
[quote]Local media said the family were found after a 25-year-old entered a nearby pub in a confused state on Sunday, drank five beers and then asked for help, saying he had not been outside for nine years.
[quote]'Police investigated after receiving a tip-off from somebody who was concerned about the people's living conditions' and discovered the adults, de Groot said.
Well, which is it?

Gee, kind of a lovely property.
by Anonymous | reply 2 | October 15, 2019 7:48 PM |
Yeah, that roof in particular looks brand new.
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 15, 2019 7:49 PM |
Didn't miss much
by Anonymous | reply 5 | October 15, 2019 8:09 PM |
So the adult "children" (and no relationship established among them or with the "adult" were locked in the cellar? And who grew all the vegetables?
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 15, 2019 8:12 PM |
Root Vegetables in the Basement

Can I be the one who tells them Trump is president?

You know at least two of those siblings got it on in some incesty way in which at least 10 DL queens will obsess over the musky facts in a 10-thread epic for the ages.

kind of?
by Anonymous | reply 12 | October 15, 2019 8:48 PM |
The pub owner is kind of fucking gorgeous. The house and garden should be a separate tasteful friend post. Living in the basement waiting for the end of times sounds abit too close to home to some here.

The pub owner is beautiful 😍
I wanna hear about the mother and the circumstances that lead them to live like that!
by Anonymous | reply 15 | October 15, 2019 9:18 PM |
Well I never in all my life.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 15, 2019 9:22 PM |
Dutch men are mostly beautiful and hung..
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 15, 2019 9:25 PM |
R10 knows his DL.
Bartender is gorgeous.

Protestants. Smh.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 15, 2019 9:28 PM |
I think they would have found the DL Fallout Shelter far more convivial.
by Anonymous | reply 20 | October 15, 2019 9:32 PM |
There are only about 6 people left on this website. The ‘Dutch are hung’ is beginning to get mentioned in every thread.
We get it.
by Anonymous | reply 21 | October 15, 2019 9:39 PM |
Wow who knew those dutch boys have big cocks!
by Anonymous | reply 22 | October 15, 2019 9:42 PM |
Well, they're definitely welcome in the fallout shelter then.
Sweeping the floor, fluffing the pillows and spreading some potpourri as I type.

[quote] Some of those freed 'had no idea that other people existed'.
They must have been completely gullible. They didn't wonder where the father went when he left and came back with food? I have to imagine what they were eating came from a market somewhere and was in boxes and packages.
by Anonymous | reply 24 | October 15, 2019 10:31 PM |
5 beers? The 25 year old drank five beers? Who paid for them?
by Anonymous | reply 25 | October 15, 2019 10:41 PM |
R24, Papa practiced with the 'Fallout 4' simulator a lot. He was a good scavenger.
by Anonymous | reply 26 | October 15, 2019 10:43 PM |
'mystery man' who rented the farm has been arrested
by Anonymous | reply 27 | October 15, 2019 10:58 PM |
I've heard that men from the Netherlands are rather well-endowed.

Could someone in Hollywood please option this before the end of this evening? And then not let M. Night Shyamalan get within 100 miles of this story?
by Anonymous | reply 30 | October 15, 2019 11:59 PM |
On it, r30

This was already a movie back in the late 90s. Who knew Blast from the Past was a documentary?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | October 16, 2019 12:15 AM |
Even the DM posters commented on the bar owner. Haha Anyway, this story is weird. How did the guy pay for drinks in the bar? I believe he went there more than once, so he was going out daily.
Can someone explain more about the 58 yr old man? If he's not the father, does that mean the father is elsewhere or he's the 'father' just not biologically? In which case, where are the 'kids' from?
by Anonymous | reply 33 | October 16, 2019 12:20 AM |
At least they were spared having to see that shitty Game of Thrones finale.

I read another article that said the (real) father suffered a stroke and was confined to his bed in the house. Apparently the mother passed away before they moved to the farm.
by Anonymous | reply 35 | October 16, 2019 12:49 AM |
I would imagine their foreskins stank.
by Anonymous | reply 36 | October 16, 2019 12:50 AM |
Thanks, R35. I hope we learn more.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | October 16, 2019 1:03 AM |
These people must be an awfully slow study - if you're waiting for the 'end of times' and it still hasn't materialized after 9 years then that is a slight clue that Daddy Dearest should have taken his brood out of the cellar a long time ago. I feel sorry for the poor kids.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | October 16, 2019 1:08 AM |
If that were my family all they would find is corpses.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | October 16, 2019 1:29 AM |
Wasn't this the premise of Dogtooth?
by Anonymous | reply 40 | October 16, 2019 1:33 AM |
R40 Yes it was. I had forgotten about that film. I don't think it ever would have been made in the US.
by Anonymous | reply 41 | October 16, 2019 1:35 AM |
For some reason I am picturing the whole family with identical blond bowl haircuts.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | October 16, 2019 1:36 AM |
R10 Haha. Say goodbye to the Nick and Aaron Carter threads. Data lounge now has the Dutch Basement Brothers.
by Anonymous | reply 43 | October 16, 2019 1:42 AM |
I'm shocked this wasn't Texas.

The guy that was arrested is Austrian. Something in the water in that country?
by Anonymous | reply 47 | October 16, 2019 4:13 AM |
update: the family found living in isolation on a remote farmhouse may have been (former) members of the South Korean ‘Moonie’ cult
by Anonymous | reply 48 | October 17, 2019 7:49 PM |
The most important aspect of the story, the bar owner.
by Anonymous | reply 49 | October 17, 2019 7:58 PM |
The bar owner doesn’t have a Instagram
by Anonymous | reply 51 | October 17, 2019 8:02 PM |
This is a lesson to us all.
by Anonymous | reply 52 | October 17, 2019 8:10 PM |
The son who went into the bar has beautiful csl. I think now we know how he paid for those drinks.
by Anonymous | reply 53 | October 17, 2019 8:17 PM |
[quote]The pub owner who called the police is kind of cute (this is DL after all ;)
I'd tap his keg anytime.
by Anonymous | reply 54 | October 17, 2019 11:10 PM |
A thread that could be discussing a strange & interesting story is reduced to blurbs about looks,
by Anonymous | reply 55 | October 18, 2019 5:14 AM |
That ain’t a man, r53. Looks like Shesus Christ
