[quote]Local media said the family were found after a 25-year-old entered a nearby pub in a confused state on Sunday, drank five beers and then asked for help, saying he had not been outside for nine years.

[quote]'Police investigated after receiving a tip-off from somebody who was concerned about the people's living conditions' and discovered the adults, de Groot said.

Well, which is it?

by Anonymousreply 1October 15, 2019 7:46 PM

Gee, kind of a lovely property.

by Anonymousreply 2October 15, 2019 7:48 PM

Yeah, that roof in particular looks brand new.

by Anonymousreply 3October 15, 2019 7:49 PM

I guess the truth is as strange as fiction.

Didn't miss much

by Anonymousreply 5October 15, 2019 8:09 PM

So the adult "children" (and no relationship established among them or with the "adult" were locked in the cellar? And who grew all the vegetables?

by Anonymousreply 6October 15, 2019 8:12 PM

Root Vegetables in the Basement

by Anonymousreply 7October 15, 2019 8:19 PM

this is gonna be a movie real soon.

by Anonymousreply 8October 15, 2019 8:24 PM

Can I be the one who tells them Trump is president?

by Anonymousreply 9October 15, 2019 8:29 PM

You know at least two of those siblings got it on in some incesty way in which at least 10 DL queens will obsess over the musky facts in a 10-thread epic for the ages.

The pub owner is kind of fucking gorgeous. The house and garden should be a separate tasteful friend post. Living in the basement waiting for the end of times sounds abit too close to home to some here.

by Anonymousreply 14October 15, 2019 9:06 PM

The pub owner is beautiful 😍

I wanna hear about the mother and the circumstances that lead them to live like that!

by Anonymousreply 15October 15, 2019 9:18 PM

Well I never in all my life.

by Anonymousreply 16October 15, 2019 9:22 PM

Dutch men are mostly beautiful and hung..

by Anonymousreply 17October 15, 2019 9:25 PM

R10 knows his DL.

Bartender is gorgeous.

by Anonymousreply 18October 15, 2019 9:28 PM

Protestants. Smh.

by Anonymousreply 19October 15, 2019 9:28 PM

I think they would have found the DL Fallout Shelter far more convivial.

by Anonymousreply 20October 15, 2019 9:32 PM

There are only about 6 people left on this website. The ‘Dutch are hung’ is beginning to get mentioned in every thread.

We get it.

by Anonymousreply 21October 15, 2019 9:39 PM

Wow who knew those dutch boys have big cocks!

by Anonymousreply 22October 15, 2019 9:42 PM

Well, they're definitely welcome in the fallout shelter then.

Sweeping the floor, fluffing the pillows and spreading some potpourri as I type.

by Anonymousreply 23October 15, 2019 9:50 PM

[quote] Some of those freed 'had no idea that other people existed'.

They must have been completely gullible. They didn't wonder where the father went when he left and came back with food? I have to imagine what they were eating came from a market somewhere and was in boxes and packages.

by Anonymousreply 24October 15, 2019 10:31 PM

5 beers? The 25 year old drank five beers? Who paid for them?

by Anonymousreply 25October 15, 2019 10:41 PM

R24, Papa practiced with the 'Fallout 4' simulator a lot. He was a good scavenger.

by Anonymousreply 26October 15, 2019 10:43 PM

'mystery man' who rented the farm has been arrested

^^ That wasn't his finger that Hans Brinker stuck in the dike!

by Anonymousreply 29October 15, 2019 11:43 PM

Could someone in Hollywood please option this before the end of this evening? And then not let M. Night Shyamalan get within 100 miles of this story?

by Anonymousreply 30October 15, 2019 11:59 PM

On it, r30

by Anonymousreply 31October 16, 2019 12:06 AM

This was already a movie back in the late 90s. Who knew Blast from the Past was a documentary?

Even the DM posters commented on the bar owner. Haha Anyway, this story is weird. How did the guy pay for drinks in the bar? I believe he went there more than once, so he was going out daily.

Can someone explain more about the 58 yr old man? If he's not the father, does that mean the father is elsewhere or he's the 'father' just not biologically? In which case, where are the 'kids' from?

by Anonymousreply 33October 16, 2019 12:20 AM

At least they were spared having to see that shitty Game of Thrones finale.

by Anonymousreply 34October 16, 2019 12:41 AM

[quote]Can someone explain more about the 58 yr old man? If he's not the father, does that mean the father is elsewhere or he's the 'father' just not biologically?

I read another article that said the (real) father suffered a stroke and was confined to his bed in the house. Apparently the mother passed away before they moved to the farm.

by Anonymousreply 35October 16, 2019 12:49 AM

I would imagine their foreskins stank.

by Anonymousreply 36October 16, 2019 12:50 AM

Thanks, R35. I hope we learn more.

by Anonymousreply 37October 16, 2019 1:03 AM

These people must be an awfully slow study - if you're waiting for the 'end of times' and it still hasn't materialized after 9 years then that is a slight clue that Daddy Dearest should have taken his brood out of the cellar a long time ago. I feel sorry for the poor kids.

by Anonymousreply 38October 16, 2019 1:08 AM

If that were my family all they would find is corpses.

by Anonymousreply 39October 16, 2019 1:29 AM

Wasn't this the premise of Dogtooth?

by Anonymousreply 40October 16, 2019 1:33 AM

R40 Yes it was. I had forgotten about that film. I don't think it ever would have been made in the US.

by Anonymousreply 41October 16, 2019 1:35 AM

For some reason I am picturing the whole family with identical blond bowl haircuts.

by Anonymousreply 42October 16, 2019 1:36 AM

R10 Haha. Say goodbye to the Nick and Aaron Carter threads. Data lounge now has the Dutch Basement Brothers.

by Anonymousreply 43October 16, 2019 1:42 AM

I'm shocked this wasn't Texas.

by Anonymousreply 44October 16, 2019 1:44 AM

"The House of Huge Dutch Dick".

by Anonymousreply 46October 16, 2019 2:18 AM

The guy that was arrested is Austrian. Something in the water in that country?

by Anonymousreply 47October 16, 2019 4:13 AM

update: the family found living in isolation on a remote farmhouse may have been (former) members of the South Korean ‘Moonie’ cult

by Anonymousreply 52October 17, 2019 8:10 PM

The son who went into the bar has beautiful csl. I think now we know how he paid for those drinks.

I'd tap his keg anytime.

A thread that could be discussing a strange & interesting story is reduced to blurbs about looks,

by Anonymousreply 55October 18, 2019 5:14 AM

That ain’t a man, r53. Looks like Shesus Christ

by Anonymousreply 56October 18, 2019 5:51 AM
