Kathy is right. That video shown at a Trump property is a disgrace. And Trump has not condemned it.

Donny Jr, Sarah Huckabee and the Repug governor of Florida were at the Trump property where the video was shown on a loop. None of the Repigs condemned it.

The thing is, no one, not even the biggest Kathy Griffin fan, would see her photo of the mask and think hey, I should do that.

Despite the hysteria around it, it was obviously a statement and a bad joke, and also a still photo and not a video. It was referencing Trump's "blood coming out of their whatever" comment. She didn't have a weapon, she wasn't covered in blood, it was obviously a mask. It was directed toward a single politician who is surrounded by Secret Service 24/7 and will be for the rest of his life.

This video takes realistic CGI and practical effects and targets marginalized people who often can't even call the police without putting themselves in danger. It targets individual citizens who aren't politicians, and portrays the government executing them brutally simply for existing and not being far-right enough. It was shown at a pro-Trump GOP event at a Trump property.

There is almost no comparison. She's right, this is unfair and dangerous, but it'll get both-sides to death and nothing will come of it.
