It's the ultimate Deplorable word, is it not? To paraphrase Jeff Foxworthy, "Ah'm frum th' South - Ah jest SOUND stoopid."
Aren't Y'All Sick To Death Of Seeing The Word "Y'All" In Print, And / Or Hearing It In Conversation?

Y'all is a very efficient word, and in this day and age when personal pronouns are getting so much scrutiny, y'all has a definite usefulness.
Bottom line: fuck you, OP. Better yet, fuck your family too. FUCK ALL Y'ALL!
by Anonymous | reply 1 | October 14, 2019 10:51 AM |
Fuck you OP! I will continue to say "y'all", and all my other Southernese, as I am a proper Southern lady!

Better than "based off of" or "based out of."
by Anonymous | reply 3 | October 14, 2019 10:56 AM |
Some of y’all are elitist jerks.
by Anonymous | reply 4 | October 14, 2019 11:09 AM |
In England we say "You lot".... almost worse, in fact.

Well I am sick of seeing it used trendily by white northerners recently. It's a SJW word too. They might be going for AAVE.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | October 14, 2019 11:33 AM |
White northerners have realized its utility, as R1 pointed out. It's much better than our regional alternatives, such as "Youz" and "Yinz." "Y'all" sounds classy by comparison.
by Anonymous | reply 7 | October 14, 2019 11:44 AM |
I thought Americans mostly say "You guys".
by Anonymous | reply 9 | October 14, 2019 11:54 AM |
I’m super sick of the overuse of the word “super.” I’ll be super happy when this super dumb trend ends!
by Anonymous | reply 10 | October 14, 2019 11:57 AM |
Hillary and Obama sc sometimes used it to sound folksy. Obama made it acceptable. Hillary per usual just followed.

I quite like it because it sounds so stupid.
& it beats the hell out of the 1990s "awesome".

Don't know what y'all talking about

I'm especially sick of non-Americans using it. It's a useful word that nevertheless sounds fucking stupid no matter who says it, but there's something about Europeans or Indians or Malaysians or who-the-fuck-ever using it that grates like hell. Get your own useful but crass word to use.

R14 = lexicon xenophobe.

All y’all need to calm down about the word ‘y’all’, y’all.
by Anonymous | reply 16 | October 14, 2019 1:07 PM |
Bump.
by Anonymous | reply 17 | October 14, 2019 6:23 PM |
I use it in speech because I'm a Texan, I've always used it and it sounds polite to me. I don't see it online, probably because I don't read crap. Maybe that's your problem? The real enemy is FOLKS, not Y'ALL.
by Anonymous | reply 18 | October 14, 2019 6:26 PM |
Ayuh.
by Anonymous | reply 19 | October 14, 2019 6:35 PM |
I see what you did there, OP.
I don’t like it.
At all.

I agree, I find it kind of patronizing. That said, I grew up in the South and am unlikely to stop saying “y’all” at my advanced age.

Y'all some hoes up here.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | October 21, 2019 2:37 AM |
Not as sick as I am of “folk” and it’s “Das Deutsches Volk” connotation.
