Michael Fishman Got Old

Considering all the heavy lifting the remaining core cast has to do post-Roseanne, it's amazing how little they give Fishman to do.

And how terrible he is at doing even that.

I still watch it and enjoy it, but no one else in my life still does.

I blame Roseanne.

Why did they cast a full black girl to play his biracial daughter?

Fishman is going grey a tad early, but on the flip side, he looks like the sort who will have a full head of hair right up until the end.

I am thinking he was made up for an episode where he is aged a few years.

He looks sickly... like John Goodman.

I also find it bizarre that they give him so little to do and say, particularly given that he's an original cast member. I've even wondered if it's at his request -- i.e., perhaps he doesn't really think of himself as being much of an actor and prefers to be kept mostly on the sidelines while everyone else carries the heavy load.

If not that, then it makes no sense.

This show is so so so bad.

Both Fishman and John Goodman (Dan Conner) lost a lot of weight. That kind of weight loss can make you look older than you really are.

The show is too depressing.

There wasn't a lot of quality raw material there to begin with.

Except for the one who plays Becky they all look like hell.

Fishman and Gilbert are both pieces of shit for dumping on Roseanne when she was down.

I don't think his legal age was ever in question: it's that he LOOKS at least a decade older. And I agree. I wonder why he never had rhinoplasty. A small adjustment would make his so much more attractive.

Yes, something about that set just ages people. None of the principals look very good, particularly Goodman, who looks seriously ill. Now that Johnny Galecki is a regular, he looks just terrible. He used to be a cutie, but he's gotten quite heavy and jowly.

My beloved Jay Ferguson is growing gray and a bit seedy before my eyes, too.

I scrolled through his Instagram and inthe majority of his pictures from recent months he looks old.

I wished I liked it more R26. The original show is near and dear to my heart and I like the actors a lot. I just think the writing for both the reboot and The Connors is really weak and the acting too hammy. The original was so brilliant and sharp during it's peak. These reboots are not capturing that magic. I do watch from time to time out of pure nostalgia though.

And this is one of the myths that people like you don’t have enough common sense to know is ridiculous - that being poor automatically means you look like shit and only people with money can have good looks. Stupid.

Constant stress, like worrying about money, can do shit to your looks and your overall health. Of course they would all end up looking horrible. It's not just a question of getting things done that keep the rich looking good for the most part. It's the best medical care for everything and not having to worry about how much anything costs or losing your home or going hungry or losing what shitty lousy paying job that you have and having to work way past 65 years old.
