Flame away but I really liked The Politician, mostly because of Platt. The satiric script was very good. I even tolerated GOOP, who looks awful in this but played her part well. Corenswet was good but just didn't fit with Platt.

Ben is doing this whole bear thing at the moment. Regardless of what he's like in the rest of his life. And if he's stress-eating, all the better.

Corenswet is beautiful in The Politician. I doubt that Ben Platt — a talented actor and a great singer — thinks he looks as good as David.

I see a bit of Cavill mixed with a bit of Hayden Christensen. He also sort of has Christensen's way of speaking.

This look reminds me of Tom Welling's early Smallville days. I wouldn't mind David as Superman with Robert Pattinson's Batman. Pattinson would definitely play it as homoerotic as possible.

He is not only cute, but he is also a very good actor. He is one of few characters on The Politician who is believable.

The shows portrays River as so Zen. The most level-headed person in the show. That suicide made no sense.

His character is cartoony as well, he claims to feel everything (like he feels how other people are feeling) pretty odd, and yeah he looks like a mix of hayden and cavill.

I dunno, R39... when I think of the people I know who have committed suicide, I've never thought they'd be the ones who would do it.

R39 People on the brink of suicide are often calm and cold. They’re usually not erratic and freaking out, typically they lead on as if nothing’s wrong, go about their day and act as zen as possible. Then, next thing you know, BOOM.

R42 is correct. People in planned suicides are really relaxed. The time leading up to the decision of taking their own life is panic inducing but once they have decided they are going to end it,they become incredibly calm and collected. A neighbour committed suicide last month, she was like that. Some of the patients of my professors too.

His suicide made no sensr, especially since he told the entire school about it, the entire show is a mess but the never gave Ben's character another male live interest which annoyed me but they did make sure he be in a het relationship for the rest of the show. Fucking murphy.

If they ever do a JFK Jr. movie, Corenswet would be fantastic casting. I thought while watching the Politician that he had the same vibe, which is why Murphy cast him as the charismatic but doomed River.

Ryan Murphy loves big emotional moments in his series, but he rarely follows up properly. If a much-beloved campus leader admitted in front of the whole school that he tried to kill himself, there would have been a lot of fallout. At the very least, there should have been a scene between River and his parents where they discuss it. I know in the Heaven dream sequence he says he had a lot of counseling and meds that didn't work, but we never got to see any of that. It is interesting that he mentions EMDR therapy, which is used to help people get over traumatic events. It suggests that River wasn't naturally fucked up but that something happened to him (I would guess some kind of abuse), but again, we never get any follow up.

Ryan Murphy's series feel hollow because he never fully develops his characters or their backstories.

I'm also pretty sick of all the characters in his shows be cartoons instead of acting like regular people, satire is all he knows and not even good satire.
