Let's take a minute to appreciate the genius that is Kevin Parker. x
I'm a fan. I prefer his more psychedelic exercises like his first two albums to his third, which has a cool sound, but doesn't hit me the way his earlier work did. "Alter Ego" is a fave of mine. He was supposed to release another album this year, but I think it's been delayed. I didn't really love the two singles he released... they were okay, but lacking that original spark I appreciated from him.

He has done some great work. Genius is used too frequently. Stop it. Whatever I've heard from the new record is ok, not great.

This person is for Millennials only.

Bullshit, r3. I'm 60 and I love him/them.

R4 What do you love most? The lyrics? The melody? The youth?

What's your favour song from the first two albums. R1? Currents is my favourite album of all time, but I still appreciate the first two. x

My favorite track and I'm another bronze age gay. Such a strange mix of psychedelic with a vaguely motown-ish structure.

Another eldergay - 52 - who loves him. Something about the groovy, lyrical sound. Normani - not a fan. Lizzo - ok but not interested. This is more like Lana del Rey but better and more intriguing, soothing, interesting music.

Kevin Parker's using sounds from the 60s-80s, so it's not surprising that he'd have an older audience. Think less myopically.

R6 "Alter Ego", as I posted, is a fave from the first album. I love the strange sonic turn that Lonerism takes. "Why Won't They Talk to Me" is my favorite off of that album.

For me it's the stand alone heavy John Lennonesque "Elephant" that is great.

Bet he feels like an elephant
Shaking his big grey trunk for the hell of it
You know that you're dreaming about being loved by him
Too bad your chances are slim
