Dear Lord! Did Jane Lynch Lose All of Her Money in a Ponzi Scheme or Something???

Fuck off, worse than Adolf.

by Anonymousreply 1September 16, 2019 11:13 PM

Seems more like a "Golden Girls for yesterday"

by Anonymousreply 2September 16, 2019 11:16 PM

Lauper really looks like she has her act together (sarcasm). I just hope that Lauper doesn't try to incorporate pro wrestling into her new sitcom.

Jane just won an Emmy for best guest actress in a comedy for her performance on Mrs. Maisel

by Anonymousreply 5September 17, 2019 12:13 AM

The Golden Girls of Wrestling.

by Anonymousreply 6September 17, 2019 12:13 AM

Cyndi Lauper is wonderful. I love her .

by Anonymousreply 7September 17, 2019 12:17 AM

I'm assuming that one of the topics will be the heartbreak of psoriasis.

by Anonymousreply 8September 17, 2019 12:29 AM

Will there be an elderly lesbian character? I yearn to hear about the intricacies of senior scissoring.

by Anonymousreply 9September 17, 2019 12:38 AM

What's a Ponzi scheme?

by Anonymousreply 10September 17, 2019 1:56 AM

I cannot, for a second, see Cyndi Lauper as an actress let alone a comedic actress.

by Anonymousreply 11September 17, 2019 1:57 AM

Wonder if Cyndi is going to sing a song at the end of each episode.

This is going to be a disaster.

by Anonymousreply 12September 17, 2019 2:01 AM

OP, regular roles on tv don’t come along every day, especially not for (almost) 60 year old actresses. She’d be crazy not to take this. If you haven’t noticed, she’s only been doing guest spots and recurring roles for the last few years.

by Anonymousreply 13September 17, 2019 3:26 AM

I hope eczema is not contagious.

by Anonymousreply 14September 17, 2019 3:29 AM

Maybe, she lost a lot of money in her divorce.

by Anonymousreply 15September 17, 2019 3:34 AM

R13 I know. I just think that Jane should have gotten a better gig than this. She is so funny and so talented (Lauper? Not so much).

R15 She very well may have.

I'll try to keep a good thought, I'll hope that the show is great.

by Anonymousreply 16September 17, 2019 6:53 PM

I’ve always liked Cyndi Lauper. Get past the clothes and make-up and she seems like a very sweet, down-to-earth, and insightful person.

by Anonymousreply 17September 17, 2019 9:32 PM

I'll be watching with my fingers crossed. Has Lauper done any credible acting?

by Anonymousreply 18September 17, 2019 9:35 PM

Lauper won an Emmy for her guest starring role on Mad About You.

by Anonymousreply 19September 17, 2019 9:40 PM

R18 That is a good question. I could see her pulling off a “Mask” or “Burning Bed” type of dramatic role.

by Anonymousreply 20September 17, 2019 9:40 PM

Jane Lynch was a guest host on The Talk yesterday. Her personality is nothing if not off-putting. Her energy was so harsh, I no longer can look at her performances with an open mind or heart.

by Anonymousreply 21September 17, 2019 10:00 PM

Dyke, ya know.

I started (and then quickly stopped!) listening to all my favorite stand-ups when the podcasting thing started.

Some of these people are really grating in big doses. But good in small ones.

by Anonymousreply 23September 18, 2019 12:19 AM

I think a Netflix sitcom is a good next move for Jane. I like her and hope she finds a vehicle that works for her.

Isn't she still the host of Hollywood Game Night?

by Anonymousreply 25September 18, 2019 1:03 AM

Yes, Jane Lynch can come across and both harsh and clumsy.

I will always love her as Mrs. Frank Bohner, though.
