I thought the sequel was so much better than the original.
A Very Brady Sequel is streaming on Hulu.

Tim Matheson doesn't seem to fit in with the other. But Christine Taylor as Marcia and Jennifer Elise Cox as Jan, the two funniest from the first movie (by far), at their very funniest here. (Taylor is absolutely inspired.) Plus it has the best song the Brady kids ever sang, "Good Time Music."

Moesha, Moesha, Moesha!

They both were amazing and underrated. What I want to know is why the Blu-ray doesn’t include the deleted scenes THAT WERE SHOWN ON BROADCAST TV. The Flintstones film did the same thing.

It's grown on me. The first one is amazing.

I saw this in the theater. When Alice walked into the refrigerator, I let out a very loud yelp. I was mortified.
by Anonymous | reply 6 | August 21, 2019 1:51 AM |
The cast has been vocal about their dislike of this movie compared to the first. Except for Eve of course who doesn't give a fuck about any of it.
by Anonymous | reply 8 | August 21, 2019 1:56 AM |
R8 The whole Greg and Marcia getting it on thing did ruin the sequel, but, the sequel had some good moments.
by Anonymous | reply 9 | August 21, 2019 1:58 AM |
It was a rush job, released just over a year after the first one. Probably one of those productions that didn't have a completed script when filming started.
by Anonymous | reply 10 | August 21, 2019 2:03 AM |
Robert Reed tells Alice that it is, "Six o'clock in the fucking morning" and the word "fucking" was edited out.
Never knew about this little incident.
by Anonymous | reply 11 | August 21, 2019 2:06 AM |
I loved both movies. Jan and Marsha stole every scene they were in, hehe.
And I loved Mike's ridiculous words of wisdom.

Caveat emptor, r12.
by Anonymous | reply 13 | August 21, 2019 2:09 AM |
Both of them were hysterical. The first was the best but the sequel had so many great moments. They should have gone for a trifecta.
by Anonymous | reply 14 | August 21, 2019 2:11 AM |
I thought the incest scenes were hilarious, frankly. I know some Maiden Aunts were shocked, though.
by Anonymous | reply 15 | August 21, 2019 2:12 AM |
I agree r15! I thought it was hilarious.

I miss Shelley Long!
by Anonymous | reply 17 | August 21, 2019 2:28 AM |
Robert Reed doesn't curse in that scene. He pauses to emphasize "morning" like any graduate of The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art would. His lips don't move during the pause.

r3 Wilma correcting Betty's lettuce chopping! I've only ever seen A Very Brady Sequel on VHS, but many many times. I didn't know there was more to see on TV.

R14 there was a wreck third movie. It was made for cable forget the name you can Google it.

Mr. Mike Brady and Mr. Roy Martin were the Vice Presidents of the Bartlett Administration.
by Anonymous | reply 23 | August 21, 2019 4:16 AM |
Shelley and Gary Cole really get Florence Henderson and Robert Reed's vocal timbre and cadences. Never realized how distinctive they were till I heard them being imitated, particularly Flo's heavy touch when it's time to bang out the dialogue.

R22 The Brady Bunch in the White House. All the kids sucked.
by Anonymous | reply 25 | August 21, 2019 4:34 AM |
I think it's in the sequel when Jan mentions George Glass.
by Anonymous | reply 27 | August 21, 2019 11:54 AM |
Yeah, it is
I love when Jan gets thwarted in all her machinations by Marsha.
by Anonymous | reply 28 | August 21, 2019 12:08 PM |
I always loved the original, but seem to favor the sequel more these days. For the most part, they really nailed the original characters!
by Anonymous | reply 29 | August 21, 2019 12:26 PM |
It always cracks me up how Marcia's voice gets deeper when she's alone with Greg.
by Anonymous | reply 30 | August 21, 2019 12:36 PM |
The Flintstones Movie and both Brady Bunch films were brilliant!! The Addams Family Films should also be thrown in as well. All were clever takes on old tv shows.

How did HE know that daisesaremuhfavrite?
by Anonymous | reply 32 | August 21, 2019 12:51 PM |
They would never have allowed Robert Reed to say "Fucking" and then just sloppily edit it out like that. He didn't say it. If he did say it, they would've had to redo the whole seen. Plus Ann B Davis, hated crude language. That's why she detested working with Rip Taylor on the variety show.
by Anonymous | reply 33 | August 21, 2019 2:08 PM |
R30 "Yes Greg.........I mean, what?"
by Anonymous | reply 35 | August 21, 2019 5:47 PM |
I thought the incest plot was hilarious--especially since Maureen and Barry DID date during the course of the original series.
The best scene was the one in the coffee shop where Greg and Marcia's dates get totally weirded out by how into each other the Brady siblings are. Then Jan shows up with a department store dummy and pretends it's George Glass--it should have been stupid but Jennifer Elise Cox pulled it off.

Are the deleted scenes from the first available to watch anywhere online? Saw both movies at the theater and love both of them equally. Had a crush on Chris Barnes.
by Anonymous | reply 37 | August 21, 2019 6:53 PM |
Tim Matheson was in it because he appeared in Yours mine and ours which was a prototype for the Brady Bunch. Lots of quotable lines in these movies.
by Anonymous | reply 38 | August 21, 2019 6:56 PM |
Technically step-incest.
by Anonymous | reply 39 | August 21, 2019 7:02 PM |
R32 that is the best delivery of any line in either film
by Anonymous | reply 40 | August 21, 2019 9:07 PM |
I don't get that line. What's so great about it other than her weird jumbling of the words at the end?
by Anonymous | reply 41 | August 21, 2019 10:07 PM |
Here’s the deleted scenes only show when broadcast on tv.
by Anonymous | reply 42 | August 21, 2019 10:31 PM |
R41 it either resonates or it doesn’t. It’s one of those things you can’t describe, but I love it so much!
by Anonymous | reply 43 | August 21, 2019 10:51 PM |
I'm more impressed by Marsha's eyerolls and snide delivery.
by Anonymous | reply 44 | August 21, 2019 10:57 PM |
r42 lol. I can see why the whole termite thing got cut, but I did laugh at the ending :)

If anyone's curious, the first movie is free on Amazon Prime.

"Have a nice NEIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHH!" That's my favorite line.
by Anonymous | reply 50 | August 22, 2019 6:25 PM |
It was weird that Greg had no game in these movies, but it did lead to one of the funniest exchanges in the first film.
Greg: You just tell the guy you don't wanna go with, that something suddenly came up. Marcia: And that really works? Greg: Sure. Girls say it to me all the time!
.

Split verdict from Siskel & Ebert.
Siskel: "A really good comedy" with "some big laughs."
Ebert: "Sort of liked it, but can't quite recommend it."
And they both disliked the first movie.
by Anonymous | reply 56 | August 24, 2019 7:36 PM |
Both movies are severly underrated on IMDb (6.0 and 5.7). The Sandlot and Home Alone got terrible reviews when they came out and are now cult classics. The Sandlot now has a 7.8 rating. The Brady Bunch films haven't quite attained cult status just yet. Those movies are all critic proof.
